I'm disapointed that nobody found my secret line of text... Shh... there is no secret test except for the thing that's hard to see...
-
I lost my Photoshop disc, I'm going to install Fireworks instead, I bought a student addition a few years ago. Hopefully it's pretty much the same...

I did this with Windows Media Player, Print screen, and MS Paint. Notice from cmatcmextra: Merged posts, fixed error.

I love how skillfully blend you render and your background and choose colors. -
Gift For S243a From Gmu

I'm glad I finally learned how to do a proper Tech Border, now that you mention it, I DEFINATLEY could have eased up on the bevel a little bit...Also I need to smooth out the border a bit. If you look anywhere it has a diagonal it's very pixelated... -
Aweseome background, border is good, and render is good and well blended, except I agree, the blue pad on his chest looks awkward.

Gift For Klass From Gmu

Those are bushes, but all of my brushes suck, the only background I did with filters was the one for Saint Michael and the Jestox one. -
Here you go... I'm not particularly fond of this, I liked the render, and would have liked the whole render to be visible, but it was quite big. I wasn't sure what to do with the background, I thought grunge or fractal, and I ended up with this, not sure how to classify it. So instead of classifying it I Klassified it (yes I stole that from his custom profile field... )

Agent Saint-michael Sig gone matrix baby

It's good, 9/10, everything is perfect except like Johnny said the opacity on that stipe of green the font is on should be just a bit higher. -
@Frozen - Thanks! I'm not going to put a border on it because I didn't mean for it to be a sig, it was really just a test of some filters and brushes and such.I took everyones advice and tried to highlight the render so it would stand out against the darker backround.@Johnny - Me either, I was just playing with filters and settings and that was what I got...@Micheal - I think your right, if I used a colors for the background other than blue and blak it would have had more contrast, but I was testing, and I thought blue and black look good together. And thanks, I have Moonwitch to thank for the filters, she told me how to use many of them.
-
I'll do that for a copy on here, but the one I'm giving them will stay pretty much like that, they saw my gift for you (I posted it as 1 of 4 examples) and asked for that background. I really don't like the render either, I wish I knew who those two character where so I could get a better render, but that's what they gave me...I'm going to try to fix the pixelation up a little bit.
-
OK, here is V2.0, V3.0 I will add more to the render.
-
I'll change the border white, they said a border, never said what kind, I just made it yellow so I didn't have to change colors... I'll try to add more effect ot the render, but what they gave me was so simple originally...
-
I made this for someone on a game development website just now, please give me feedback (they asked for that backround, I can;t believe it... )
-
It's not a sig, I was just testing some stuff... Please tell me what you think...

Gmu Fire Sig W/ Tech Border
GM-University replied to GM-University's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Thanks, I'm getting the hang of some of the tools, Johnny's tutorials help alot with the tools, and Moonwitch's PM's told me alot about the Filters. So I owe them ALOT. I liked the font too, I did the words twice, and overlapped the red-orange one with the yellow, that made it more easily read, which helped. I'm regreting parts of the backround that I did, I used a mixture of Fractal and Grunge style brushes and some contrast clouds to do it, but now I wish I'd used more of the fractal because I liked the way it looked. This was the original render, I used a wind filter on it, and turned it red, but I really don't like what it did to the fireball he was holding... -
I think this is the best sig I've done so far (the border still needs work, as does the font, and the backround needs a little bit of depth) Here's what I think it needs More contrast on font color. More detail on border. More background depth. Clearer render. Better blended render. Is that about right?
-
I hate the font and I hate the border, and it's too dark... But here it is... OK, lay it on me hard, be extremely honest and straightforward, tell me any slight problem with it...

OK, I still have to add the text, a border and some burshing on this, but am I going the right way?
