That's not going to be the logo in the final release. The planet icon is used in every Alpha release in Firefox, perhaps to distinguish them from stable versions.

- Most of my themes and extensions (Add-Ons) don't work (Real kick in the knickers, but at least 2 of them work! The theme in Win9x is terrible but I can't get around to installing XP!)I like it and it has crashed only once and that was the first time I ran it.

This is why this version is for developers/testers only! Since every new version of Firefox might render some code differently, Mozilla disables old extensions to prevent them from messing up the browser. The extensions will be disabled until the author has tested that they are compatible with the new version.

I just tried it on my Mac notebook (if I install it on my Windows, it'd overwrite my current, old Firefox), and I noticed something weird: Why are the close buttons located on the left side of the tab? Didn't they used to go on the right side of every tab in Alpha 1? Maybe I've got a bad memory...

Maybe the webcam isn't compatible with AIM Triton. Have you tried to use AIM 5.9 with the webcam?Actually, I've never heard of a windows webcam that isn't compatible with every windows program, or a program that's not compatible with every webcam. When your webcam said that your AIM isn't compatible, was there any way for you to skip that message? Or did it not work at all?

I'm not a Linux user, so I don't know much about this. But I found this page that might be helpful to you: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. It shows you how to install fonts on Mandrake, RedHat, SuSE, etc. It looks pretty simple to understand.

@szupie: the result is not an error, the result is exactly what is predicted by mathematics. Moreover, I get an english sentence saying namely that "the result is...."So, a message saying "you typed something wrong" is not an error, I guess the problem has a different solution.

What calculator are you using? Why does it have text messages on it? I think Omkar⢠is talking about a simple, small calculator with no special functions, so they might be a little different in handling errors.

Well, I still don't have a calculator with me, but I thought of another way to do it: Throw it up high in the air, and let it drop to the ground. You don't even need to push a single button.

It'll prompt you everytime you access it with a new computer/browser. Since you usually can't use the same computer every time in a public place, you'll have to download it every time you use a new computer.

https://www.google.com/googlenotebook/faq.html didn't work for me when I used a new browser. I think it only works after you've downloaded the extension.

I remember the site you were mentioning in the shoutbox, and then I suddenly remembered that it was the site that gave us a virus-infected advertisement earlier. The topic concerning it can be found here.

Maybe the service provider for that website has deleted the site, but the ads system on this site hasn't removed the domain. It not going to affect your computer. There's probably nothing Xisto can do, except to notify the ads provider about the dead link.

Wow, I didn't think Google was going to create a browser extension for this... It must have been hard to have to code the extension in both XUL for Firefox and .... IE for Internet Explorer... However, I thought they should have accomodated other browsers as well. When I tried to access it in Opera, it didn't give me a choice to skip the extension download, so I could only access the actual notebook after I downloaded the file. The extension also has its down side. If you're trying to access your notebook from a school or other public places, you'd be forced to go to the extension download page. That makes "accessing it from anywhere" harder than it has to be.But other than that, Notebook has everything I expected it to have: The ease to add a new note; the intuitive design of the Notebook page; and source and date included in each note. But I think they could have added more details to the source and date part, by including the exact time and by trying to get more information about the source site.

Oh, I actually meant that the "preprocessor processor" part was redundant...Where do recursive acronyms come from anyway? I mean, it's really easy to create one (pick a letter, add a few words after it, then use the first letters of every word as the first word). Do they originally have a different meaning? I know PHP originally stood for "Personal HomePage".

Google Notebook is actually one of the four new products you mentioned in your previous topic. I don't remember where you mentioned it, but I remember seeing it as one of the four here.

 

Anyway, yeah, it looks like the best product out of their 4 recent ones. It'll make researching a lot easier. I just hope it won't be too complicated and overwhelming.

That was from the eAccelerator site. So yes, it does accelerate your PHP processor (kinda redundant phrase there... "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor processor"...).

I wanna test out the new spell-checker and also see how the new Addons section looks like. They've combined Themes and Extensions into one dialog, so I'm interested in seeing it. I'm just waiting for PortableFirefox, so that I can try it out without losing my Firefox 1.5. It currently only has Bon Echo Alpha 1, and I doubt it'll release Alpha 2, since Alpha 3 is planned to be released next Friday.

I don't think you can set up a proxy on a website... You'd need to set it up on a server (your computer should do fine). Then the people can use your server to relay information between them and the sites. I don't know how to do this and what programs you'd need. I'm interested in this, too.

These products (except Google Desktop 4) are all meant for the business guys, so they would seem useless to some people (including me). But I still think they're good products.ms^e, you said you're going to try out Desktop 4. Do you know if it still requires you to install it in C:? I want to install it in an alternate drive instead...

This is pretty cool. I wonder what language they're using to create that. The best feature is that you can save your files online and access it from anywhere. Did you say multiple people can edit a document at the same time? Wouldn't that get all crazy? I'd like to see that in action.However, I still think the formatting is still quite basic. It doesn't do any auto-formatting/-correcting. Maybe they're afraid that it'd make too many mistakes in guessing what the user wants to do.

If your photos are ripped, put them together with some space between them and scan them. Then, you can remove the white parts and put the pieces together.Since old photos lose a lot of their details, you may have to fake some of the lost information. You can copy a pattern from one part of the picture to another with the Healing Tool and the Patch Tool. When you adjust the color levels, do it by section by section so that the picture won't be too dark at some parts or too bright on other parts.It'd be great if you had a more specific question, though... These are just some general guidelines.

Odd, the issue I am getting now (OS X 10.4.6, Firefox 1.5.0.3) is that every so often Firefox will stop accepting keyboard input. It has happened three times so far and every time I have to quit and restart. It only started with the .3 update. So far no one else has reported it. Oh well.

Hey, I have that problem sometimes too, but on my Windows. Sometimes when I try to type in the Google Toolbar, it won't do anything at all. I'll have to click somewhere else a couple of times before the search box works again. Is your problem in the whole Firefox or just in one extension?

The site doesn't even let you apply for a domain! Click on the "3. Ask for registration by clicking here" link a few times, and you'll see that it's a randomly generated page with ads. And as Transcendum has mentioned, the forum in completely empty, except for the only one post, which is the FAQ. It's got 27 sections, which is waaay too many for a new forum.

 

But I wonder why there aren't any noobs who fell for this. Maybe it's because the admin deleted the evidence?

I just use a normal optical mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel. I can't live without a scroll wheel. Or laser movement detection. Or my second mouse button. So I guess I'm just accustomed to what I have right now and I've considered it them as basic, must-have features.But I'm curious about your mouse. How can you use both buttons at the top and bottom of your scroll wheel? My fingers have to curl up a lot to reach the lower button, which puts it very far from the top button. And even if my finger's resting on it normal position on the wheel, it can't reach the top button without having to re-adjust my entire hand.I can understand that all the extra button gives many advantages to gaming (especially the Alt+Tab button), but can a person use all of them at the same time?

There's another cool thing about Google SketchUp: After you're done with your model, you can publish it to Google Earth and let everyone in the world see your house. I don't know how the process works exactly, though... Maybe you can make a giant robot and place it right next to your house so that the CIA would come check it out.

What the heck?! The bandwidth doesn't line up!! The only *reasonable* package that might be good for BASIC hosting is the 100 MB disk space one... Why the heck would you want 50 MEGS of disk space for 4 GIGS bandwidth???? you couldn't possibly fit that many bandwidth sucking files on that kind of web space... [N]F

They did that to give them an advantage. People who don't really have an idea on how much bandwidth one requires (like me) might sign up for the one with the most bandwidth. The host knows we won't use up all the bandwidth, so the third plan actually gives the customers the least.

I've tried Linux for a few weeks in the past, but since I wasn't a Linux geek at that time, it just confused me a lot.I'm guessing that most games were built just for Windows, and Linux's processors aren't the most efficient in reading Microsoft's proprietary codes. If a game was created specially for Linux, it'll probably run crappily on Windows.

Wow, it looks really good. Too bad it completely relies on Java. I don't like Java for some reason and I'm prejudice against all Java programs. But I guess they couldn't have made the colors and layouts so pretty without it.Is this going to be a free product in the future? I guess a free Microsoft Office is beneficial on its own.
