Annoying Me. Cannot Upload Avatars Grrr.
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to iGuest's topic in Software
Check your first line - see that Permission denied message ?? Most likely the read permissions for your avatar directory are not set properly.. use your FTP tool or the cPanel file manager to change the permissions for your avatar dir to +777 initially and test. If it works out, change it back to 755. That should do the trick. -
Guys guys guys.. problem solved. It was because of the stupid adblock extension of firefox that I'd installed just a day back... lol.. no wonder I couldn't see the ads. I got a mail from google in response to the same query here.. I'm pasting a part of it for you guys - as a checklist, in case you ever sign up for google ads... This checklist help me spot the problem.. The third last question made me realize what was going on.. lol... Regards, m^e

Hey guys, My Google Adsense account's approved and I've added the code for a banner ad on top of the board and code for a tall columnar ad on the right side of the main page. You cannot see anything on the board at all and on the main page, you can just see the header Google Ads. Anybody had prior experience with Google Adsense ? Any idea why the ads are not showing up ? I'd put the code in one empty page too... but NOTHING turned up there either.. Here's a sample code: <div style='float:left; margin-top:2px; margin-left:2px; margin-right:2px; margin-bottom:2px;'><script language="javascript"><!--google_ad_client = "pub-9346480791758409";google_ad_width = 728; google_ad_height = 90; google_ad_format = "728x90_as"; google_ad_channel = ""; google_ad_type = "text_image"; google_color_border = "336699"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "0000FF"; google_color_url = "008000"; google_color_text = "000000"; //--> </script><script language="javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"></script><!-- end of google ads --></div> Wonder whats wrong Any guidance in this matter will be really appreciated... Thanks m^e

Account Doensn't Get Unsuspended
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to marijnnn's topic in General Discussion
Exactly how long were you gone for, marijnnn ?? Because if you were not here over a month and your credits dipped below -30 then you cannot complaint. It's clearly stated in the board rules that your hosting account gets deleted if you fails to get your credit count back to +ve prior to reaching this figure. If you were gone for more than a month and had almost no credits when leaving - that might explain your account vanishing mysteriously. In such a case your only way out is to re-apply in the NEW ACCOUNTS forum and wait for it to get approved... Regards, m^e -
Well before you decide to rebutt at something make sure You've READ and FULLY UNDERSTOOD what the other person is saying - or else don't indulge yourself in useless comments. Nobody can earn without working hard - but this is an easy opportunity since everybody uses internet to search ... Know what ? even searching around takes effort - and the payment you get in return is hardly worth mentioning - would you call that sitting at home and making easy money ??? Besides I didn't force anyone to sign up using my referals.. go signup wherever you feel like.. Thats why I said READ before you LEAP - take a look back again and try to figure out WHY I REQUESTED people to signup using these referrals.. If you're not interested that your problem - at least don't go around saying offending stuff (the tone of your message is offending enough).. and shows how little grasp you got of my pledge...

How To Make A Recipe Db In SQL ? Recipe Process ?
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to oncombeureum's topic in Programming
haha... cool concept - I'd never thought of breaking up data like this. Your task can be accomplished with a little careful data manipulation I'm sure someone will have some brilliant idea for you here... All the best ! -
Spoof as in you can enter any random email address - as you can with any form mailers... there's no certain way to check that it is your authentic address unless you put some email activation mechanism following the form feedback... but then that's a total overkill when you're using this form to simply submit comments. Email verification is good for only forum & site memberships... Anyway, I think this code is useless at this point, coz we've already posted this 2-3 times before in both javaScript and PHP sections.. While it's a good attempt, this shows that people still DO NOT use the SEARCH button before posting. One of the previous articles can clearly be found under PHP Form to Email title. Credits adjusted for this....

Any Certifed Ethical Hackers Out There?
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to jkk's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I didn't even know there was such a course Can you guide me to a few sites ?Thanks -
Hi guys, Now there's another site called Pay-Pup similar to Netbux - that pays you $0.02 or 2 cents per search you do through them. Only difference with Netbux is that these guys let you do 50 payable searches per day - letting you earn a maximum of $1.00 per day. Here's the deal - am trying to get referals under me in both these services. For each search that you perform through these sites, you get 2 cents and so do I. So far I've got 8 referals under me in Netbux and 1 in Pay-pup (moonwitch) - am trying to do as many searches as possible and telling my referals to do so too. The gathered money will be used to support AntiLost.Com - the OpenSource Collaborative Software Development Site we're launching soon. Right now the site is on a free asta account, but if we're to support project hosting, we'll need a whole bunch of disk space and thus have to go for a paid account. My idea is to get it from Xisto - Web Hosting - that'll support OpaQue too and help us maintain the site well... The domain for this site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - was donated by none other than our beloved OpaQue to get us started on this mission. Feel free to drop by at AntiLost.Com for a sneak peek of what's going on. All you got to do is singup at either or both of these services (both is better - that way we'll make money faster) and start searching. They employ all the standard engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Askjeeves, Lycos, AllTheWeb etc. - so your searches will essentially fetch you the same results. Only factor you got to keep in mind is to fill up your quota of 40/50 searches per day at either of these sites. So my request goes out to all of you here to join in and Search for a good cause. I'll keep updating the account balance of both services in this post on a daily basis - so we can keep track of how much we've made so far. Today: May 2nd, 2005 ================== Netbux: $13.62 Pay-pup: $02.40 --------------------------------- Total: $16.02 ================== To signup at any of these services, you should use the following referral links: ============================= 1. Netbux: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 2. Pay-pup: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ============================= Counting on you guys to actively participate in this. Irc Java Applet Easy Access to IRC Support
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to X-Wes's topic in Websites and Web Designing
viz - I keep getting the same error too - it happens with everyone who's behind a proxy. Many of us in fact ARE behind proxies - unknowningly.. mostly becoz of the local ISP's.. For me I can connect if I use the browser on my dial-up server - but NOT from any other system on my LAN which connect through a proxy rerouted through the dial-up serverThe problem goes away if you're using Win2k/XP's default Internet Connection Sharing option...You should understand that this client behaves exactly like mIRC - when you accept the certificate this gets downloaded into your browser cache and runs as an embedded application from there. Whereas mIRC has the options of specifying a proxy, this applet still DOES NOT. So it tries connecting/resolving the IP of dalnet directly and doesnt get any response, resulting in the connection timeout.... Maybe if I've free time, I can look into it.. I'm fairly good with Java myself.. -
Nope - nothing like that. You still get your payments delivered through paypal. They are talking about people who are unable to get referrals - they have that option of buying unreferred users at $3 per user - and make income from them. What the notice says is you cannot buy referrers anymore using paypal - but receiving money's no problem. Okay - here goes - this post has indeed helped me get a couple of more referrals. And I've been updating the money earned regularly at the end of the day, as seen from the Topic Starter Post. Here I'm publishing a list of people who signed up under me according to their emails: ==================== chris_gst AT yahoo.com shridhar AT fastmail.fm ainekayleigh AT gmail.com jipmanvuong AT gmail.com meetnakul AT hotmail.com netbux AT mytrashmail.com viz_skywalker AT yahoo.com suzmolthop AT aol.com zero.gambit AT gmail.com mlgriswold AT comcast.net yangzi AT excite.com ldavison AT orcon.net.nz adonis AT linuxmail.org ===================== The other similar site - Pay-Pup.com is also up and working. So my request goes out to the people on this list to sign up there as well - that will help us make more... The referral links can all be found on the first post of this thread. Still am pasting them here again: Netbux: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Pay-Pup: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Inviting more users to sign-up for a Good Cause - refer to the first post of this Thread.

About C Programming I need serious help
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to isma2012's topic in Programming
Well first of all - be a little more careful about where your posts are heading for. This is a Howto's and Tutorials forum, which according to the forum description, is meant ONLY for Tutorials on computing topics, that you've written yourself. This isn't a place for putting up programming questions. There are plenty of other forums on this board for that. This is why we always stress on the fact about reading the forum DESCRIPTIONS FIRST before making any posts. Since you're new here, no harm done - but be careful in future. -
Well, if you look around a bit or read the forum descriptions a little more carefully, you'll see we already have a forum for Ruby under Programming > Scripting. Moved to Ruby.

Try any of the standard flash animators available with thousands of pre-built effects like these... Here are some names:1. CoffeCuf Firestarter2. SwiSh Just search around and you'll get plenty of download locations - with these it's a 2 minute's breeze to set up such effects..

miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to chrls1405241492's topic in Introductions
Thanks for your offer, but why don't you say a little more about yourself. That would help us know you better... If you are unsure about what to wrtie, take a look at the other posts for some guidance.. Welcome to Xisto and have a great stay !! -
Lol.. that tells you how stupid most of us are when it comes to doing your own chores.. Always have to fall back on someone else to help us out in such simple tasks as these... Sometimes I so feel like a mega idiot - not being able to sew back my own torn buttons & stitch up small cloth tears. I mean comeon, these are like basic necessities of life - and all of us should pick up these little skills. Nothing to shy away from - but still 90% of us do...
-
There was some way to do this... at least the technology was in its gestative stage when I'd read about it around 3-4 years ago. It's called WEFT or Web Embedded Font Technology. I haven't really kept track of it recently, so just google for WEFT and am sure you'll find loads of hits. This was supposed to set the next standards for implementing embedded fonts on sites - to overcome just what you're trying to... All the best..

Their system still has a whole lot of bugs - you should try signing up again using that same referral link, but a different email address this time and see. If it doesn't work out at all for you, come back here and blast them with a bad review.Focalex is that advertisement agency I think, that flashes banners on top of their page. They must have got your email address from the netbux database.Anyways, so far going good. After I made this post, my referral list jumped up from 6 to 12. Not all of them are active, but still it helps even if by a little margin. Till now, I'm the only one religiously doing my 40 searches every day and updating the stats here.Hope to see more active participation from you guys

Hackers Challenge 2 Do you have what it takes to beat this ?
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to jipman's topic in Software
I completely support qwiji here. What he's doing is the REAL WAY to do things. Firefox plugins are basically cheating. It's nothing that you exercise your Real Skills at. We're simply using pre-made tools to get our job done. A real hacker wouldn't ever say that jippy He'd always insist on using telnet..
