Heart gift for my valentine :)

I think you forgot to attach the picture dude.. Can't see anything -
Hi guys, I just stumbled upon this cool tool called StumbleUpon - http://www.stumbleupon.com/. You simply sign-up with them and download their toolbar. They got it for almost all the major browsers on Win/Lin/Mac platforms. This adds a new toolbar to your browser with a couple of icons like Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down, A page Review editor, Your own Reviews Bookmark, Chat etc...very small and compact download for Firefox - only 85K. When you browse to any site, you just click on the thumbs up/down icons to give your rating to a site. If you happen to be the first person to add this site to their database, a small input-box will pop-up asking you to write a short review. It's fun to play around with, plus you can get to know a whole bunch of people with similar browsing habits as yours Here's a screenshot of how your browser looks after you install the toolbar: Installation is very simple and as soon as you create an account at their site, the toolbar auto-detects the login/pass and you don't have top configure it in any way. Give it a try.. m^e

I think you need to double check on that - light saber wasn't supposed to be made of laser - the concept behind it was Plasma or Heated Gas. According to classic Star Wars texts, the light saber was supposed to be a shaft of pure energy a couple of meters long. Here's why it can't be made of laser: Laser will not be visible to the naked eye - the way light sabers appeared, unless the air was filled with a thick layer of dust particles. It would never show up in empty space. Plus, you cannot limit the range of a laser beam to a meter or so. The beam would keep travelling in a more or less straight line till the energy dissipates or the beam gets scattered and reflected by some obstruction in it's path.On the other hand - even though present technology doesn't permit it - you could ideally condense plasma to contain itslef within certain pre-fixed dimensions. But this would lead to such intense heating of the sword shaft itself that the bearer would turn his own hands to pure charcoal in a matter of seconds. Also - even though plasma CAN cut through metal - that whole concept of plasma sword blocking another plasma sword is completely imporbable.

I believe you were trying to say that the Save Target As function doesn't work in Firefox - but it does. In firefox, it's known as Save Link As - you get to it the same way by right-clicking on a link.

VB.NET: Howto Add And Delete Files Just looking for useful code
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Axis's topic in Programming
Hi Axis, I don't know what code you tried out, but the file manipulation routines in VB.NET are extremly simple... To read a text file, all you need to do is create a RichTextBox control on your form, and load the file into it using the StreamReader class. Here's a short example, assuming rtfBox = your rich text box and sr = your stream reader Imports System.IO.......'Just a var to hold your filenameDim FilePath As String = "c:\somefile.txt"'Define a stream reader and link it to your fileDim sr As StreamReader = File.OpenText (FilePath)'Read the file to the end and load it in your rtf boxrtfBox.Text = sr.ReadToEnd That's it - this will dump the contents of your whole file into the richtextbox. To save it, you'll have to use a similar mechanism involving a StreamWriter class - you'll have to pass the contents of your rtfbox through the streamwriter into a file. Just look up the syntax of streamwriter in the MSDN libraries. Also for creating Blank files and deleting them, you can simply use the members of the File class - e.g. File.Exists, File.CreateNew, File.Delete etc. If all else fails, post here - and I'll send you a working example of a small NotePad clone that I had created just for fun's sake..It's got all the text-file reading/writing routines that you might need. Online HTML/PHP Editor: Edit File In Browser!
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Nqon's topic in Programming
Why don't you google for HTMLArea Text Editor - that does the exact same job - i.e. creates an online text editor. Combine the code of that with some file saving/uploading routines in PHP and you'll get your desired results -

Hey hey hey I have a tattoo tooo on my right shoulder Gimme a few days - am busy shifting house now, but I'll come back and put up a picture of it here. It's a simple one in dark blue, but very ornate and exquisitely done. The picture is that of a royal phoenix but it's a work of art Coming back with the picture soon.. I think tattoos are absolutely fine as long as you don't go overboard. It's one thing to deck yourself up nicely - but it's something else when you try hiding yourself behind a curtain of tattoos. A couple of tattoo's around your shoulder or wherever else - enhances your looks, but when you wear them all over your body like a cloak - it really looks disgusting. It's not the real YOU anymore. God's given everyone great looks & a great body - live healthy and live the natural way. And qwiji - you're going to kill yourself man... lol.. it won't get infected or anything if you take care of it properly, but it's going to hurt like a b|tch when you get it done You'd probably have to drink a gallon of alcohol and smoke a kilo of pot before attempting to do that. I know of a friend who got his penis pierced - it took almost 2.5months for it to heal completely - he'd to go into complete abstinence till then But now he says his girls are enjoying it way way more So that leaves one to wonder .... :)Regards,m^e

Whats That Hacking Challenge? rookie
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to viperciyes's topic in Software
Try the challenges in this forum first - or if you want to proceed in a step-by-step manner, go to: http://billigtarife.net//?gtnjs=1 - they have over 25-30 challenges starting from very basic one's and going up to some very tough nuts to crack. Other than that there's hackthissite as mentioned above. Just google for "Hacking challenge" and you'll find plenty of such sites... most of them are fun, some plain stupid and in some you get to put up a real test of your wits. -

Dude - I've gone through the exact same condition - but not because of the exact same reason I had very bad nail-biting problems as a kid and that gradually forced my jawline to recede a bit. And because of that I used to get frequent jaw-locks.Chewing gums would build up the strength for sure, but along with that you gotta chew on bones too (chicken) - i.e. if you eat meat. I'm a dentists' kid - both my mom and dad are dental surgeons back home in India. If I start off about how to fix your jaw, it'll never end... lol.. but, you might need some professional help. In cases of severe jaw-locks (most likely you've dislocated you jaw by a good margin, and in one-shot) - you'll need something known as a BITE-GUARD. It's a sheet of very soft, thick & clear plastic, that is moulded into the shape of your upper teeth - the whole denture. You keep wearing that as much as you can and particularly during sleep. This thing will force a small gap between your upper & lower jaw - which normally is lacking and somehow (I'm not sure of the actual physiology behind it) - it relocates your jaws back into their respective position in due time... Remember, this won't get it done in a day - sometimes takes upto three months. But this is a small price to pay for - when you are facing a situation of life-long frequent jaw-locks... If nothing, at least get an X-ray done and see how far you've managed to shift it around.. You can stick it up on your wall and boast it off to your friends -

New Periodic Table Of The Elements
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Billwaa's topic in Science and Technology
You can put it up here, as long as it is within quotes and with appropriate citations of the souce page/author's name/publishing date etc. - we strictly prohibit publishing plagiarized content here. -
Well first of all - I don't think anybody other than OpaQue can enable the shell access. Other than that - the shell you get with asta hosting, is a jailed shell - with very limited access. You can just do ur barebone work, like moving/copying files and downloading stuff through elinks. Even w-get has been disabled recently and the word w-get has been blacklisted on Apache's mod_security.. Try using that in a post here and it won't go through - will be rejected by the server...If you've come to asta looking for a full blown shell - then sorry mate, this won't leave you satisfied at the end of the day. Try aceshells or some other shell provider.. But if you've come looking for PowerPacked Web-hosting - then this is JUST THE RIGHT PLACE FOR YOU

How To Fit Page To Window?
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to ninjamunky's topic in Websites and Web Designing
See graphics cannot be adjusted - unless you create then separately for different resolutions and create style-sheets accordingly. But your over-all page layout can be made to resize on its own depending on user's resolution.. Even this has to do with CSS style-sheets. Vujsa has designed a variable width template for Mambo CMS - I guess you can use his style-sheet to shape up your page too.. You should PM him to grab a copy of that template..Regards,m^e -
Lol.. jolly cool - I haven't been around lately, but good to see that this thread has progressed so far.. haha.. I never though it'd draw so much of response after they chucked out my first few posts on their forum - and were even commented upon by the owner Chad. That made me come off and vent it out.. I'm still waiting though - so far with all my (useless mostly.. lol.. no offense) referrals I've managed to make only $31 - whatever comes out of this is going toward maintaining the new opensource development site we've launched as a sister concern of Asta & Trap... Incidentally - if there are any serious coders around and would want to come host their project or take part in the ongoing project discussions - you're more than welcome to stop by at AntiLost.. :PRegards peeps,m^e

Yup sure - and if you word them well with clear step-by-step instructions and if possible pictures of every step - then they'll be moved up to the actual Howto's and tutorials section.. but they have to be at least 500 words long - each of them - to qualify as a tutorial...Keep up the good work :)Regards,m^e

Naah you're right - they aren't paying through paypal anymore.. I guess taking revenge coz paypal froze their accounts.. lol anyways, here's what it says now: Just signup for a stormpay account - its the same as paypal.. same rules/same tools/same stuff.. just a triffle bit difference in the service taxes ... I think stormpay deducts a little more than paypal..while paypal takes off 3% on transactions stormpay almost double.. somewhere around the 6% region.. but what to do.. only option now.. I've gone ahead and got myself accounts on 3 on the major sites anyways - stormpay, paypal and egold.. who knows which one comes to handy when - besides you don't need to pay any maintainance fees to hold onto these accounts.. so what's the big deal ?

How do you know this site is for real - i.e. will stop spam harvesters ? Their code doesn't look anything much other than a LINK. <a href=http://english-34303117228.spampoison.com>Fight Spam! Click Here!</a> This in itself might be a SCAM... lol.. as in a desperate effort to increase their own page ranking by coaxing people to link to them. I think Project HoneyPot is far safer than this... Dunno, I don't believe them from the looks of it - till I read reviews about their authenticity elsewhere.
