Permission Problem With Mysql Database Creation Please Help
DaEmOnFiRe replied to DaEmOnFiRe's topic in Programming
Thanks for the feedback and comments everyone, but my real problem is im using a program to create a whole database for me which goes through a prompt asking questions about my webserver/database stuff etc. The same error keeps occurring though where it says the user specified doesn't have permission access. I am well aware of prefixes and did everything right but the problem is still persisting but thanks for trying to help everyone, ill let you all know if the problem is solved. -

Which Is Faster Broadband, Dsl Or Cable
DaEmOnFiRe replied to football123213's topic in Science and Technology
Well on most standard ISP's, they are relatively similar. ADSL is more constant with a fairly broad range of speeds. Cable definitely has higher potential and capabilities in terms of speed. If you are a heavy internet user i would recommend cable, as it is generally faster. -
Yet another interesting find with the very surprising google earth. I too, have found my house with it, my swimming pool, and even used it as a guide map to drive somewhere. Anyway, back to the 'flying car', this is very peculiar. The most simple assumption would be that its just a physics bug in the program, or the car is being lifted by something extremely thin invisible in google earth. Very interesting though.

How To Set Up A Dedicated Server Counter-Strike dedicated server setup
DaEmOnFiRe replied to DaEmOnFiRe's topic in Software
Its certainly not enough, and he will have an extremely hard time, as 128 mb ram is the complete minimum. I would recommend he gets 1GB at least. The pentium is also little, the processor is very slow, and hard drive is little. The outcome of setting up a dedicated server with those specs will be serious lag issues. -
Im not an expert on energy resources and their usage, therefore my views on this matter are simple. Basically, i think when oil runs out, we'll either mainly use nuclear energy or solar energy. The best thing about nuclear energy is that it is extremely efficient. The down side is it produces a hazardous waste, which eventually will take up alot of space. The more likely alternative energy resource is solar energy. Although it doesn't have the effiency of nuclear energy, it is much more safe to use.I know what i said was very vague and this topic can be discussed in muhc wider detail, but thats all i know on the topic.

Are You For Or Against Cloning? what would be your reason?
DaEmOnFiRe replied to adriantc's topic in Science and Technology
This is just another step into abusing what we know about our chromosomes, DNA and how we can use it.Personally, i am neither for nor against cloning. I have no personal opinion on the matter, but ill say what i think the advantages and disadvantages are. One main advantage (although this can be a disadvantage to others) is that people can use cloning to do work for them, even commit crimes, and this is how it becomes a disadvantage there. A real advantage in terms of health is that it can be used to prevent occurance of some heriditary diseases, which overtime can maybe prevent any disease at all.A disadvantage of cloning is that people are likely to abuse it in bad ways. Also, if used in excess cloning will overpopulate the earth. We are already close to a population crisis without cloning itself (estimated at 2009 population will be at a crisis).Basically, i think those are the main things to be considered when thinking about cloning in general. -
Nintendo Wii Your opinion about nintendos new console?
DaEmOnFiRe replied to scab_dog's topic in Computer Gaming
Yeah hehe, the remote jokes are funny as hell Anyway, i think the wii is pretty good as a console. Although it doesn't have great value for money, i believe it has some good qualities such as its unique games. Its also classic in a new good kind of way. If you have neither ps2 or wii, i would recommend buying the wii first, as ps3 has a few major bugs to be fixed it seems. -
Totally Free Domain Names - www.uni.cc www.uni.cc
DaEmOnFiRe replied to HellFire121's topic in General Discussion
Domain names are extremely cheaply priced nowadays. I would rather not go through all the trouble of affliation or filling out surveys just to get a domain name - i would just buy it.And i do not recommend tking your websites as the amounts of advertisements are discouraging for visitors. -
Wow this thread seems to have been dead for quit a long time, glad im reviving it :)1) My typing speed varies alot depending on the quality keyboard I am using. I type at optimum speed with laptop keybords. My average speed is 120 WPM with one or two errors (I calculated this from taking a typing test three times). My record so far is 165 WPM, done on a laptop, and i believe i had a few red bulls before that. I think that record is quite remarkable even for me who has many years of experience with typing.2) Basically everywhere, especially when i was in school, i was noticed for my exceptional typing speed, and i remember people coming to me and requesting to type up their huge english essays. And i thought typing fast was cool :)3) I have several experiences of learning to type. When i was around 10-13, i was obsessed with chatting so that was a boost for my speed in my early experience. When i was 15 until 16, i took a 1 year professional typing course, which i think was the best source of my current skills. Right now im at the end of high school about to move to college (My last school year), and im taking advanced level I.C.T courses which involves typing alot. Also, im an advanced HTML user which also helps with typing speed and im continuing to design my website further with this knowledge of HTML.

"Command Prompt" A vector image for a blog article
DaEmOnFiRe replied to Vyoma's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Its definitely not bad for a 5-10 minute doodle, although theres some room for improvement. I'm actually pretty impressed if you did that within that timespace (would have taken me about 20 minutes hehe). Good job anyway, hope to see some more sophisticated work from you in the future -
How To Set Up A Dedicated Server Counter-Strike dedicated server setup
DaEmOnFiRe replied to DaEmOnFiRe's topic in Software
What you just explained there is how to fully update half life dedicated server through an update tool and run the server through a console. That is a good addition to my somewhat brief tutorial because i already see i have neglected to explain how to update the dedicated server program. However, i see i have already explained how to forward ports for the server if you are running behind a router as well as how to add typical mods. I guess the tutorial for my title should instead have been 'How to configure your router to run a dedicated server and add mods' or something similar. But thanks for that good addition as an explanation of a fast way to actually run hlds efficiently was needed. -
Well, dektops and laptops are good for different things. Laptops have things desktops don't and vice versa. So people may have their different opinions. Personally, i prefer using a desktop because they are easier to use and you can get really good LCD monitors with them. In a laptop, you're stuck with one screen, and if it breaks, the laptop is gone forever. Laptops are more practical for portable use, for people doing business and having to travel around alot. Im not that kind of person really, therefore i prefer desktops. Sure, desktops are more time-consuming to set up but i think its worth it. To top that up, you would usually have to buy a mouse for a laptop, unless you don't mind constantly using your fingers, which is annoying.Overall, laptops are only better than desktops for travel use, and nothing else.

Need Your Views On This Laptop With The Following Specs ASAP
DaEmOnFiRe replied to CaptainRon's topic in Hardware Workshop
Yeah, when i got 1GB RAM instead of 512MB, i noticed a reasonable change in performance, as the access memory is increased. Your RAM is good but it will serve you much better in terms of heavy gaming if you make it 2GB. As for the graphics card, ill go with graffitis point on that. In games with high dynamic range lighting, such as the new half life two (episode one or lost coast, the showcase), you may experience some lag with your current graphics card and the game will definitely not run at optimum performance. Everything else seems pretty good, but i dont know how u will survive with only 60GB hard disk memory, as i have 160 GB sata and am just coping with it -
Mortal Kombat Vs Tekken Help me decide..
DaEmOnFiRe replied to DaEmOnFiRe's topic in Computer Gaming
I appreciate your feedback on this guys. From what i see it looks like a tie though i guess the games are pretty much even, they just have different strong points and qualities. But i would definitely appreciate further comments from anyone -
Yes thats a very true statement. Actually it is known that humans know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the ocean. Only about 5 titanium 'ships' exist in the world that can go deep under water and can resist the extremely high pressure. It is because of these that new underwater species are being very frequently discovered. This shows that it is possible, but unlikely, that mermaids, or a similar species, do exist. It may be a long time before we discover them, or they may not exist at all. Its just a theory. My point is there are millions of unknown species in the deep water that are yet to be discovered.

Best Host (free) To Host Audio, video And Image Files.
DaEmOnFiRe replied to richierich1m's topic in General Discussion
I guess the ones mentioned were nice and they have their qualities. I guess you can also try fileshack if you aren't satisfied with the above two as it has very good space and a fairly fast uploading speed. -
Wow.. this is not the only case of death caused from world of warcraft... a chinese girl also died from lack of food while playing this game for 72 hours. Also, there were suicides. People actually killed themselves from failing in WoW. But the kids parents taking action by suing blizzard is a very normal reaction as parents tend to blame the game itself rather than the person who was "controlled" by it. Personally, i would blame the kid because blizzard created world of warcraft for entertainment purposes, and not to cause the death of children.

It is definitely argueable that World of Warcraft is one of the greatest Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games to date. I would agree with leafbunk when he says it has several good aspects but has potential to be much greater. Some people will have completely different opinions, but i will just state my views of this game. The graphics, to start with, are mediocre. However, state of the art graphics they may not be, but again supporting leafbunks idea, the cartoony effect is quite satisfying, to me at least. The next thing that comes to my mind about world of warcraft are the races and classes. This is a definite strong aspect of the game as there are plently of choices which are increasing with new versions of the game. Each race is unique in a distict way, and the different classes and their styles portray how different several World of Warcraft characters can be.In addition to that, there are the professions. I believe this interlinks with the classes in some sort of way because some classes suit some professions more than others. The fighting system is also a very good aspect of the game, but i feel it has some definite room for improvement; More combinations of moves could be added for different classes, including a wider range of the moves themselves, as well as fighting tactics. Also, i believe the aspect of using items during a fight can be strongly improved. Also, there is the aspect of general gameplay. This is a strong one because there are many modes of play, such as PvP, RP, PvE etc. There is also the duelling feature, the amazing battlegrounds and arenas as well as that.Lastly, i will mention the overall result of playing this game on you. I have also discussed this on other threads. This is probably the worst part of WoW - the outcome. It is extremely addicive, and influenced bad behaviour on children. This can ruin their entire lives, and has sometimes even caused suicides. I advise any current players of this game to make sure that they have good self control, otherwise they may end up like the others.I have played this game before when i was a bit younger, had alot of characters, and was addicted. This was the reason i quit the game.Anyway i've definitely said enough on the matter, so that was my little mini-essay on my view of World of Warcraft

Violent Games 'affect Behaviour' Witchhunt Time
DaEmOnFiRe replied to ccb_v2's topic in Computer Gaming
In several cases, video games, especially ones like World of Warcraft can be extremely addictive, especially to younger children, or people who never give up challenges in general. This addiction, as a result can cause severe harm to the brain and affect one's school life for instance to be significantly worse, not to mention the bad influence it has on children.Back to my point of World of Warcraft being very addictive, there were special cases of suicide from this game, when people play days on end and end up killing themselves because of game failure. Some die, such as a chinese girl, from playing too much, and they basically end up killing all their brain cells or something (I don't know how the death is caused). -
I didn't rate this game because i would have given it a zero out of five. This is because Runescape, in my view, is officially the worst MMORPG on the planet. The graphics are about the same quality as gameboy graphics, the gameplay and fighting system is extremely poor, the quests are very rarely interesting, and you can only fight in the wilderness (no duels in the game). I regret wasting my valuable time playing this game 4 years ago and im glad i quit.To all current runescape players - Get a life and stop wasting your freakin time. If your so interested in MMORPG's, at least play a decent one like World of Warcraft.

Who Is Your Favourite Free Host? whats your fav free host?
DaEmOnFiRe replied to teartrack_sos's topic in General Discussion
AstaHost is better than each of the other options you mentioned in every single way. Not only does it offer the best professional hosting features for free with no ads, but it also has a great credit system. I believe this system is not just a way to let you earn the professional hosting, but it helps you join the community and learn new things as you go along.Freewebs, however, is a different story. Freewebs is best for beginners who have no experience whatsoever in hosting a website. It is the most user friendly and provides very easy to use tools for page building. But hands down, Xisto, and Xisto i guess, are the best free webhosts out there without a doubt -
Yes, i would agree with your rating of 9 as not all games are supported. Xfire has always been useful for me in terms of instant messaging in game, and i don't think there are any better instant messaging in-game programs out there. Particularly on steam games, it definitely beats the steam friends system, especially with all its good features.Basically, Xfire is the greaest I.M program out there and im glad im part of it.
