That's a good quote. It means that your life should be worth reflecting upon and being proud of what you've done and accomplished. The only immortality that I mortal can achieve is that immortality of memory - being remembered forever for your accomplishments. Such as Buddha, Socrates, Confucious, Jesus... that's what this quote makes me think of.Where did you get this quote?

Super Smash Brothers Melee Does anyone still play this game?
gunbound replied to darvtech's topic in Computer Gaming
I used to LOVE this game, I was totally addicted. My friends and I would play it all the time, but since those years ago, my friends and I have gone our seperate ways - to different countries. One of my friends got the most incredible Home run in the Home run contest. You use Yoshi, do a small jumb and the down+A move (the rapid bicycle kick). Get the punching bag up to about 200 or more damage and then home run on the last second. If I remember right, it was about 1275 that that record was. I came really close many times, but because it is so damn hard to do, I gave up. My friend was always better at everything.... lol. That was a long time ago, I suppose that my memory serves me right. Nowadays, I play a game called GunBound. you can read a post about it here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/7795-talk-about-favorite-online-games-gunbound-is-a-free-multiplayer-game/ By the way, I've never heard of those tricks with Link and Zelda. -
I think this is funny! I've pretty much mastered beginner and intermediate, but I've never beat expert for the same reason that you give. I also have a friend that was recently telling me that he's had that problem. So, if you're hoping to get some kind of explanation, sorry, perhaps there is no way other than to get lucky. By the way, if you're willing to waste time on games, you might as well play GunBound. It's really fun and free. I have a recent post about it here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/7795-talk-about-favorite-online-games-gunbound-is-a-free-multiplayer-game/ and the link to my web site is below.

GunBound is a really fun and addictive game. It's free to download at gunbound.net It's based on the original game called Scorched Earth. Players choose a tank, known as a mobile, and get to choose a limited number of items that can be used. It's a two-dimentional game, very colorful, good graphics, and good music. The players aim and shoot from a choice of three different weapons, each tank/mobile having its own unique shots. Different mobiles have different shot types and defence types, giving certain mobiles a small advantage or disadvantage over certain others. The maps that are played on have different architecture and graphics, giving a lot of variety to the game. When a player's shot hits the land, the land will be "deleted", creating holes and bunkers for the mobiles to go into and use to get different shot angles. Players earn Gold in the game that can be used to buy special "avatar" items, which are articles of clothing and weapons. Avatars have unique stats, which give the player additional abilities such as more attack power or additional defence. Hundreds of thousand of people play from around the world. In-game chat makes it even more interesting to play. I have a lot more information about this game at my web site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I also used the cPanel submit a few weeks ago, but I decided that I'd better do some more work than that to be more sure to get the traffic I need. So I'm here today reading the forums and I found this one to be helpful for this: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/7289-how-to-get-traffic/ There are some posts there that will address some web sites that offer search engine submission tools, and I think I tried a majority of them. You have to expect that these web sites that offer these services are in it for the money too, so I recommend to be in a way cautious when dealing with them. I'm not saying that you'd going to get a Trojan, but because they are only a protal to a quick way to submit to many search engines, they're trying to get your email address... and I suppose that like anyone, you aren't going to want to get those crappy news letters and such. So what I'm hinting at is that you might not want to give them your real email address. Most of the search engines that these sites will submit to will be unheard of and we probably won't generate many hits from them, but there's nothing to lose by trying. Also, make sure that you have the proper title and meta tags on your web site. I recommend that you read about search engine optimization as well.

As a guy who is facinated by the Matrix Trilogy, I will definetly have to see this movie, just to be able to contrast it with Reeves's other acting. I don't think that he's absolutely special, but being familiar with his character, which seems to be similar to the character of Neo, and being that it's just one of those "guy films", I'm sure that I'll enjoy it. Thinking about it... I don't think I've ever watched a movie with Keanu other than Matrix...

When I log into my cPanel, I use http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I dont' know if that number applys only to me, but hopefully it will work for you or help you to figure out what you need to do. I'm pretty sure that there are a few ways (urls) to access it.

When trying to log in this happens: First try: Cannot Display page shows ... so we go back and try again ... Second try: nothing but a blank, white screen that is trying to load but doesn't ... so we go back to the forum and then we are shown as logged in. So... we can log in, but this is a bad process. How can I get someone to fix this? From cPanel I wanted to submit a supposrt request but that feature is disabled. The link to my forum is in my signature below:

Trap 17 ? Good Or Bad ? Is free ? really worth the hassle
gunbound replied to bizchina's topic in Web Hosting Support
Too bad for you bizchina... it sucks that you think you were ripped off. I have a feeling that the admins are a bit strict, but that doesn't mean that they are wrong for banning you. I'm sure that they wouldn't ban you unless you were actually spamming. Since you apparently don't know what spamming is, as you say you don't/didn't, you probably did make a mistake. It sucks when you get punkished for making a mistake that you didn't mean to make.I've been histed by Xisto for less than a week, but so far, I've VERY appreciative and content with this hosting. When I post a message, I'm surely not lazy at all and I post a long email. In fact, as I'm typing this reply I'm going much further than I initially expected to. But that's a good thing. I think Xisto may be the best "free" host there is, or at least it was the best I was able to find. So don't be mad at Xisto because of your misfortune.Just be sure to post long, and good post like this one. I think of it as if I were writing an email or an article for a newspaper. That's what they want. You have to give back to Xisto for the great service they provide you in return. Spam is pretty much not doing this, what they want. Provide new an unique material that will add to the growth of the community... they need this for more hits, so that they can get the revenue they need from the ads on the web site. -
Drupal is just one of the Addoncgi cgi scripts that I don't understand. What is it for? Can anyone explain what it is supposed to be used for?

"People Against The War And The Soldiers" got a lot of attention, but it was just too long and starting to go off topic (a topic that wasn't very clearly defined, but was basically about patriotism and turned into a debate about the war). Hence, I create this FRESH topic... general discussion about the War in Iraq.I'm a college student who is majoring in History and Political Science, so I have a lot of experience with this controversy... was the war worth it? First of all, I am very against President Bush... and this is what I think.Bush's policy is a very genius and deceitful plan, perhaps a conspiracy, that is aimed at radical goals, and these goals are covered up with rhetoric (fancy speech) to make everything look all right and good. Any person who pays attention to politics as much as I do and has a decent education can see this.If any of you happened to see the State of the Union Address, you might have felt overcome with emotion or patriotic feelings. There is no doubt that what the president says is what the majority of Americans want and think is the right thing, hence, he was re-elected. There's no doubt though that if it weren't for the war already in action (and perhaps Kerry not being the Democratic candidate), Bush would have lost this election.Americans believe, and for a fairly good reason, that Democracy is a superior for of government. Of course, so do many other countries and it is very popular for this reason. But this is not to say that Democracy is perfect (for example, the people were too ignorant to understand the deception of Bush and elected him because he has fancy speech written for him by genius radicals). The "spread of democracy" is not a new concept in the political realm of the United States. This has been a condition for decades. But the controversy is: is imperialism the right thing to do? And it is because this is not agreeable, that so many foreign countries are appalled by the United States. In other words, might should not equal right. The United States has been the world power since the fall of the Soviet Union, and because of this, such is the theme for Spiderman, "with great power come great responsibility."I have no doubt that the changes in Iraq have been good for the people, and this is obviously true due to the high enthusiasm of the people when they voted last month for a committee to draft a new constitution. So was it worth it? I honestly have very mixed feelings about it. Because it was good for the people of Iraq, I like it, but because I don't believe that the invasion was intended for the betterment of those people, I think it was wrong and should have been done differently and at a better time. Bush lied, he lied many times and the whole world knows it - there are other motives. It is in the interest of the United States to remain as the world's superpower, and a useful way to continue that trend is to set up military bases around the world. This is exactly what's been happening for decades - there is US military virtually everywhere! And what?s so special about Iraq is that it has oil. When it all comes down to numbers, it was considered worth it for the Republican Party to invade Iraq. The 9/11 attacks were just an excuse. And by the way, the reason why the US was attacked was because of those military bases that have been going up all over the Middle East. Those people over there are very religious, and for all of you Christians, you should be able to understand that when a foreign country enters a country and sets up military bases upon their holy lands, those people will certainly get very pissed-off. A couple decades later... the inevitable happened, and the US had it coming. No one likes terrorism, but no one likes a bull either, and that's exactly what the United States is. Terrorism is a primitive form of warfare. Anyone who believes that they are just savage beast is plain ignorant. As we all know, they don't have the sophistication that the United States has... terrorism is a way of describing their only way to effectively fight back, and effective it is!In conclusion, I say that 1) the 9/11 attacks were brought on by actions of the United States, hence it is their fault. 2) Democracy may arguably be the best form of government we have to choose from, but it's not perfect enough to imperialize across the world.3) Bush and the Administration are a bunch of radicals who are acting to promote the power of the United States and their pitch about "values" and such things is a cover-up for what they are really interested in.4) the war has already long been and there's nothing to do now but to finish it. Congress is forced to support the troops with additional funding... which I'm sure Bush, in his great arrogance, never believed would be necessary, and now his digging a huge hole for the citizens of the country who was too ignorant to not get rid of his highly controversial *bottom*.

I figured out the problem. I never even noticed that there banner ads were blocked by... whatever it is... either IE or Norton. All is good then...

I only heard about FireFox recently. Since it's still in development, only at version 1.0, and I've read a review somewhere that says that it still has a way to go, I decided to stick with IE for now because it never gives me any trouble. But then, some people say that it's such a bad thing, and I don't understand why. Honestly, it makes no sense to me because IE serves it's function just fine I think. Is it because it's Microsoft and is monopolizing? Or is there something that can be done with other browsers such as FireFox that I don't know about? I see on the getfirefox web site the list of features, which sound alright, but not enough to make it a clearly better alternative to IE.And how does Mozilla profit from this browser? From the Google search? Or is there some other type of advertising?

I want to put an ad on the front page of my web site. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ But when I do it doesn't display. Also, the first time I loaded the page it give the warning that Internet Explorer does about blocking unsafe script content. I surely don't want my first time visitor to get this same warning. What should I do?

The Most Idiotic Thing You Heard A Christian Say
gunbound replied to Dodger's topic in General Discussion
What Jesus said is a metaphor. A camel cannot pass through the eye of a needle - it is impossible. Hence, if this is easier, it means that a rich man cannot enter the kingdom of God. I think that's clear and simple. Mark 10, where this is from, is about how people must not be rich and not share. Jesus told a man to sell all his posessions and give away his money. But I'm not going to get into it, I don't think this is necessary or worthwhile... I have no idea how much money Bush makes, and no one but his inner circle of people do either I'm sure. Of course, when I said he maybe makes $10,000 a day, I was being semi-sarcastic, but knowing that he's a big business man (he owns companies and doesn't even know about it, such as that lumber company which was mentioned in the second debate between him and Kerry) it's certainly possible that he can make $3.5 million a year. The point is that he's rich, and he's greedy (for more reasons than I state here). Therefore, according to the Bible, he's a bad Christian. I'm not a Christian myself, so I really don't care so much about his personal worth as a "God-fearing man" and I'm not at all preaching anything here. I just hate how articifial it is... people believe that he's really a good Christian. I think it's nothing more than a label and method of control for him, which helps him get the support of his Christian "sheep". Yes, his $10,000 contribution was his own money - the President can't just give away federal money. Congress did approve of $350,000,000 though. -
Linking Back To Trap17 I want to put a small image link...
gunbound replied to gunbound's topic in Web Hosting Support
Sorry, but no, these replies don't help. The link you have above does not work. Maybe you meant to post http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - and no, that doesn't help me because those are just for the ads (which I will use). I want a very small image to link back to the forums and the main web site, but if I can't find any I suppose that I can just make something or else simply use the text link. -
Yes, it seems that when you get a package you loose your credits. If I'd known this before I applied for my package yesterday, I wouldn't have tried so hard to get credits. I wrote huge posts and earned 49 credits in 2 days. Now, they're all gone except for 4 :D:DB)I don't know why this must happen. It's quite unfair, I think. Not that I was planning to not post for as long as possible, I will continue to post, but I feel like I worked too hard and then had it all taken away.

The Most Idiotic Thing You Heard A Christian Say
gunbound replied to Dodger's topic in General Discussion
Rather than a stupid thing that a "Christian" has said, I'll tell you of the stupid things that "Christians" are. But first a quote from the Bible.Mark 10:24 "How easy is it for a man to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."And I'm sure you all know where I'm going with this. Yes, that's right! There are so many rich, rich, RICH, RICH "Christians" out there. And ah yes, my favorite is the infamous G.W. Bush. Dictating away to the country what he thinks is right for all - issues of abortion and gay marriage - while he decieves himself as being Christians by ignoring the parts of the Bible that don't agree with his own interests. So rich as he is, he was generous enough (extreme sarcasm) to contribute $10,000 to the Tsunami aid while he asked the citizens to contribute their own money. Yeah, he probably makes and spends $10,000 every day... -
The drug industry is huge in the United States. Canada is apparently more efficient and cares more about it's people by helping them afford the drugs when want and need. In American however, the economy comes first. Lobbyists and other rich and powerful people are able to make the drug indistry remain so that it can get the best benefit. The government will make more money this way and the drug companies will make more money if people are forced to buy expensive drugs in the US. They want to keep it this way. This is what America gets for electing Bush. Bush will do whatever it takes to help the economy grow because that will in effect help himself and his business buddies to grow their empire of corporations. It's all about business. Isn't it obvious? I remember a few years ago when i saw the first of those drug commericals. Now, it's a huge industry. Those rich and powerful people who have the money are investing in making new drugs to reap greater benefits from the American people.Ah, don't you just love our country?

You should read the philosophy of human nature by Konrad Lorenz "Lorenz presents his findings on the mechanism of aggression and how animals control destructive drives in the interest of the species." Try this summary, it's very interesting: https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/

I view this as typical male behavior. Boys will begin learning to compete when they're in their adolescent years. Naturally, this is a process that is useful by nature for later competition over a girl. I don't know if a girl could possibly have anything to do with your situation though.I would recommend that instead of fighting, you humiliate his intelligence. The guys who are most aggressive and competitive, such as this old friend of yours, probably realized that you are a competitive threat to him during the time when you were friends, or, he is doing this because you're not a threat and he would like to demonstrate to others that he has an advantage over you (or at least try to). Logically, he will stop bothering you if he thinks that to do so is a threat to his reputation. You need to be clever. Find a way to beat him with words. Challenge him with a question or a statement that he can have no good retort to. Think of how he may reply to your first question and be prepared to respond a second, third, or even more times. What you don't want to do is avoid him. Some people try to escape their enemies, but as you two go to school together that is likely impossible. Trying to avoid will send him the message that he's winning and has an advantage. This will make him want to continue his tactics. Show him that you're not afraid or intimidated. Don't get angry at him, but instead laugh at him and humiliate him for his immature actions. If you can ward him off in this way enough times, depending on how persistent he is, this problem should go away.Good luck!

THE FIRST AMENDMENT "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." The Bill of Rights was created to help ensure that the people of the United States would be free from the oppressive actions of the government of their pervious lands. The First Amendment was one of the most vital, enabling the people to be free to express themselves and not be oppressed by someone else's beliefs. This topic is designed to raise the debate about President Bush's domestic, and in some ways his foreign, policy and how this might have implications with the First Amendment. Of course, if there really was a great implication about it, it would be raised in the Supreme Court. What I will engage in here is my feelings about how the faith of this president is controlling and in a way, establishing, laws for the people that are based on his faith and personal opinions. But because the Constitution doesn't explicitly state that the president and Congress cannot establish laws based on religious beliefs, there would have to be another amendment to change that - and of course, that's not going to happen so long as Bush is in office. Therefore, he has the power to try to change our lives based on his faith, and there's nothing but Congress to (and probably will) stop him. For those of you who don't know, the government works in the familiar "checks and balances" system. This means that legislation (bills to create a law) must go through Congress (the Senate and the House of Representatives) and then become established as a federal law (federal is for the whole country; there is also state law). President Bush's main domestic goals are to ban gay marriage and abortion through constitutional amendments. (To see my response to abortion, see http://forums.xisto.com/topic/5833-abortion-for-or-against-abortion-share-ur-views-on-abortion/ .) Who gets to say if abortion is wrong? And what's the problem with people getting married just because they're the same sex? These are the questions that this topic should cover. Gay marriage: what's wrong with it? I'd say that the majority of people who are against gay marriage (same as those who are against abortion) are against it because of their religious faith. Religious faith is an important part of society - it forms strong human relationships and unites people in common belief. It is also a way of helping people organize with common ideas and have an answer for the most difficult of questions. Most of these answers come with dogmatic/biased answers. People who are strong of faith will be for or against something because they are "told" to be by their church. For gay marriage, most people probably aren't against it because they personally think it's gross, but rather because they think that it's against God's will and therefore wrong, period. President Bush is one of these people. He wants to permanently deny the tens of thousand of homosexual people in this country because of his personal belief. Is there any better reason? If so, I haven't heard it! What's wrong with people getting married if their the same sex? It hurts no one, or the system, or the economy. Could the reason be because homosexuals don't reproduce? Well, gay people certainly do adopt, and that's a great advantage to society (see abortion solutions). What does he mean by "the sanctity of marriage"? That seems to be another rhetorical stamen like "compassionate conservative" or "pro-life" - used in that way to make it sound good and the opponent bad. People marry for the benefits of marriage and for love. Gay people certainly have love, and they also have the right to get the benefits that heterosexual people do. If a person is gay, he or she should no be denied those benefits, that would clearly be discrimination! Abortion: how do we know when life begins? What is life - consciousness, movement, will to live? When does a fetus have any of these things? If abortion is criminalized, it will not be stopped. A new black market would open up and desperate women who are not ready to have a child will be hurt and killed by having unsanitary procedures. The fact is, abortion can be a useful tool for society, as I've explained in another topic ( http://forums.xisto.com/topic/5833-abortion-for-or-against-abortion-share-ur-views-on-abortion/ ). And rather than being completely illegalized, it needs to instead be regulated. President Bush works the same way with this as he does with gay marriage: he has be convinced by his faith that it is wrong, period. He thinks it's wrong, therefore he wants to stop everyone from doing it. Bush is clearly an imperialist. In the same way that he's so sure that democracy is exactly what the world needs to be better, he thinks that his beliefs are what the US needs to be better. But Americans don't want other's beliefs to be imposed on them, and that's the nature of our country, that's why the Founding Fathers created the First Amendment. I wonder if it wasn't for the First Amendment, if Bush would try to convert the country to Evangelical Christian. Thankfully he cannot do this, but if Congress passes his amendments (and surely they won't), all of the United States will be subject to his beliefs on abortion and gay marriage. People must have the freedoms they need in order to maintain a peaceful society. When the government imposes too many laws and restrictions, for things that are highly subjective and controversial, it leads to conflict. When there isn't a clear and obvious necessity for change, and if the country is highly divided on issues, it is simply wrong to impose beliefs through our constitution. Doing so will only cause more problems. Are the American people willing to let the executive's religious opinion to be imposed upon all of us? Do we not see this to have some conflict with the intentions of the First Amendment?
