dzsoft and editplus rocks. Personally I feel that it's high time that we get an editor which will simultaneously show us the output ie. we'll not be needing to use APACHE or IIS or PWS to view the results !!. Is anybody interested in such a project ?? If so do PM me and we can sort things out.

Hey musichere, It's true that DREAMWEAVER is an expensive software. But you must remember that Quality never comes cheap. As you are not a professional, you don't need the absolute latest version of the software ; you can easily get a copy of DREAMWEAVER MX (not MX 2004, but only MX), for a throwaway price !!. So go for DREAMWEAVER MX, and as you don't need all the new cutting edge features, this is bound to take care of your web-development needs for some time. But if you are a professional web-developer, then I'm afraid to tell, this is an expensive buy that you have to make. Bye, Bigyan

If they could have made this time smaller...........Yahoo! aslo biases towards older sites ......... that's plain unfair !!

Yeah lhunath, The obtrusive way MSN advertises is really bad. Worst of all is the fact that it is installed as default with MS OS. As I've told earlier, MS really SUCKS. You are right lhunath.FrontPage is bad ; it really sucks. But the thing is that it was never meant for any serious Web Development. It's only for beginners and definitely not meant for professionals.I am a gr8 fan of DRAMWEAVER. It's cool. I've been using it from version 5. It is a fact that prior to that I used VIM and EMACS, but this is the application that really made my life easier. It's meant for a pro (one look at the price and you'll know why). Who else but GOOGLE ?? ................. only if GOOGLE could be a bit more context specific !!I also use Yahoo Directory quite often, sites are few and are updated loosely ; but even then, the sites listed are often among the very best.

I am presently trying to download all the pages into my HDD for reading later, but my scrawler seems to find too many pages to manage (guess I'd have to rewrite it with new provisions for following up specific links only, and not bother the other links). Like most other MS products, this damn thing also SUCKS.As rightly pointed out by OpaQue, it take them >=6 months to add new site to their list of sites. I had submitted my site 7 months back ; and now atlast, they have included my site in their searches ........... but by now my host "anyxhost.com" went out of bussiness ................ so my site is of no use now.Instead of trying to copy GOOGLE, they should try to improve the internal searching features of Windows.

Hi Guys, I'am a gr8 fan of GOOGLE. It really rocks. But don't you think that it would have been a lot better if it gave results in context ie if we could also specify the context !!. Say I search for "bird", Google SE, returns web pages with the word bird written on it. Maybe in that page the word "bird" has been used as ssurname ; and not a flying object. So say, if we could also specify the context, don't you guys fell that it'd have mproved a lot ?? Bye Bigyan

Astahost is one of the very best that I've ever signed up with.Previously I used to be hosted by "anyxhost.com", but suddenly their services stopped due to no mentioned reason !!. I was good but life move on.Then I had signed up with many (atleast 3-4) hosts giving ad-free hosting. But none of them was even close to "anyxhost.com", it really rocked !!.I have been approved today only. So I can't say much about their hosting, but one thing for sure, this site is pretty straight-forward : post replies or new topics to stay active, and stay active to get quality free hosting. No small print, no *BLEEP*, no crap. It's the approach I like the best. I looked at the CPanel. It was pretty impressive, had many more icons (yeah, many more icons and not many more controls) than the one at "anyxhost.com".Bye,Bigyan

I want to add this :Windows Media Player 10 includes support for .avi files encoded with DivXHow come you guys didn't notiece it ?Win Media Player 10 is good but not so good to be v10, it could well have been v9.5 or so. Nothing gr8, except that it burns more system resource.

I use Windows (XP, 2000, 2003 server) and Linux (Fedora Core 1).I use Windows basically to play games, and use Linux for the rest.I love using Linux but I'm not being able to -shift totally to LINUX because most of my buddies use Windows and obviously there are conflicts.

Yup, from the initial days only, I've been using tables and div tags for better layout of my pages. They really give u some controll.With the right amount of cellspacing, cellpadding, border colour, background colour, table tags and div tags have become indespensible !!Bye
