I have the originall ipod phone, the motorola ROCKR. Its a great phone, not too think not too thick, not too long either. Doesn't weigh a pound.Ive got a 1gb memory card in it so i can store as many songs as i want. The SLVR looks like the next gen phone from this one. I hope some features were heavily improved. For example on the ROKR you can only download music off your pc, not off itunes directly. I understand it can take longer for a song to download off a cell but in these days, we have the technology so why not implement it ?Also the usb cable was only USB 1.1. That means that it took me almost 3 minutes for each song i wanted to transfer to my phone. I hope the new SLVR uses USB 2.0 for faster transfer speeds.Bluetooth on the ROCKR was good, you can even send and receive ringtones or mp3 files with it.Either way, the most important aspect of it is that ive never actually had a use for the Itunes mp3 player. I maybe listened to it 10-15 times since ive had the phone (got it at launch so its a good few months). I find that im either driving (so listening to my car stereo) or if im not driving, i got other music sources around me louder than a cellphone. Battery also goes by fast when you listen to the songs. The SLVR looks sweet tho, maybe that'll be my new phone even tho i KNOW i wont use the mp3 features (except for ringtones hehe)

My favorite book (dont laugh) is Tom Sawyer's adventures by Mark Twain.when i was 12-13 years old i used to read that book from one end to another every week. I couldnt get enough of it. The way that mark twain wrote the book made me get more into it everytime i re-read it.Ive read many books since but no other book made me re-read it as much as i read that one. This topic gave me an ideea, i might re-read it now, 10 years later

I see that the difference between shared hosting and dedicated server has been thoroughly explained to you so far in this topic. However no one mention what's in between them, and that is the VPS hosting.VPS stands for virtual private server. With a VPS you get more control over the hosting, because you get to actually admin the account yourself but the resources are still shared amongst users.Think of it as hosting where you have the same access as you would if it were a dedicated server, but the system resources are close to a shared hosting account.

hey, its not bad but i think you definetely need to add something like an index at the top that you can click on and go down to the heading you want to read. There is a lot of text there and there are no links. I think that every Subheading should be linked to so you can skip exactly to what interests you rather than browsing through the whole thing to find what you want.Other than that, maybe it is a bit too simple...but thats just my opinion, some people like it simpler

Another New Sig Anniversary Sig-BLACK WATCH
gigidawg replied to PIPER-4-HIRE's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
looks good. if you want some constructive criticism, i think you need a bit more contrast, you have to really concentrate on the text to be able to read it.Did you do this in photoshop ?Im currently trying my hand at creating some banners for my website, and ive tried photoshop -- wayyyy to complex for me.Do you know any freeware banner makers that i can use ? Or even a paid program, if its REAAAAALLY good ?Thanks,Alex -

Ill try again in the morning and sign up, im generally interested in the stock market, never checked out Forex tho. -
I used to think golf was the most boring sport ever, but since i got tiger woods pga tour for xbox im now a golf fan. Ive even watched it on tv a few times and tho its not really exciting, its definetely not the worse. The worse i think is curling and baseball. Not only i dont think the sports are interesting but to watch them is so boring that i can just fall asleep. My fave sport (to watch and play) is definetely soccer. SOCCER IS LIFE !

Amd Vs Intel see which brand of processor is more popular
gigidawg replied to Reaper's topic in Science and Technology
I used to use pentiums back in the 90s because they were the best thing available. In 2000 i got an AMD duron and i was amazed by its performance.Right now, my desktop uses an Amd athlon cpu. I have a 3.4 ghz Amd ahtlon 64 in my laptop as well.2 weeks ago i got a new laptop, with a Pentium M processor (1.8 ghz). Speed wise, the Amd athlonx 64 laptop (same amount of ram) kicks the pentium's **bottom**.But battery wise, my Penitum M(obile) lasts almost twice as long (both laptops have brand new batteries so thats not the issue).I think that if you want power you definetely need to go AMD. I havent seen AMD's mobile cpu in action, but the Pentium M is pretty awesome too considering how low the power consumption on it is. -
The Internet... ...its like gold, literally. [READ]
gigidawg replied to Jyoko's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That is ridicollous. Im happy that a bill like that would never pass. Not in today's world. Telecom companies are already moaning and *BLEEP*ing that some cities (new oreans for example) have free wireless hotspots covering them. This is just another attempt by them to make some extra money since they are losing so much already. I don't think/hope it will fly. -
looks good here, and i don't see any "pixeling" going on in the background. Those are pretty awesome photoshop skills you got there, wish i could do that. right now im just trying to make a gif banner for my site

it's a great addition, but if you think about it so little of your refferals ever come from those buttons that it's just a cosmetic change, won't really make a difference for the average user.I found that getting refferals is more work than running your website but if you get a good one, you can really boost your earnings.Good luck with your downlines

Is Christianity Just Another Religion Or Its Superior
gigidawg replied to nustadventist's topic in General Discussion
Just the idea of saying a religion is better than another is so ignorant that it's not even funny.I am a christian but i definetely don't think my religion is better than anyone else's. If Joe Smith worships a chair or Jane Smith worships an elephant that's their problem.Religion is something you do for yourself, its personal. You don't worship something or someone to be better than someone else.I have lots of friends that are atheists and i don't judge them for it. I also knew one person that was a satanis, and that was also his choice. I don't think that makes me or my religion any better than his. -
Hey Nani Cheri, i like your website, its very artsy. For some reason when my mouse goes over the calendar my cursor changes to <--> . Other than that, add a bit more content to it and you'll be fine

hehe yeah i agree with Albus Dumbledore, its not that i can't understand it but because it's in "ye olde english" makes it not that funny.

I have to say im tottaly FOR stem cell research. The way i see it, its not doing any harm, only good. They take the stem cells from UNBORN fetuses. If they are unborn that means that they wouldn't have lived anyways so why not take their cells and help someone ?A dear friend of mine had a terrible car accident 6 months ago and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Doctors said that her spinal cord wasn't moved but she lost some nerves. Stem cells could help her but they're illegal in the states. She is now on a 4 years waiting list for a treatment at a Spanish stem cell clinic. This is also costing her a lot of money. My point is that since its proven that it can help people, and you're not killing anyone for it...why not make it legal here in the US so everyone can benefit from it ?I guess it's the same as the pro-choice vs pro-life issue. The government today is still hung up on religion and as far as i know government and religion should be 2 different things that never mix.I hope they legalize stem cell and im sure they will in the next 10-20 years because the govermnet will finally realize the benefits and the fact that there are no downfalls to it, just old fashioned people who don't think its right.

i think that this is just some buzz and gossip stirred up because the ps3 is late.I havent yet found anywhere where microsoft confirms a handheld xbox and even if they did they couldn't have it this soon. Usually developers release their new products at trade shows and expos (E3 for example) and i haven heard nothing about an xbox handheld at the last E3.I think that xbox360 is already way ahead of the ps3 (and i know this is offtopic) so i don't think that this xbox handheld device would be made against the PSP.the handheld market is not that big and once they put hard drives in the handhelds (and they get hacked like the xbox did) the game sales will go down. (look at psp, you can download games and put em on without buying them)

hey mantraffic exchanges can be awesome if used right.I actually run one here at Xisto, its doonohits.trap17.com . I am just experimenting with it so to say and if it has success will move it to its own domain + paid hosting. Most of the people that use traffic exchanges use it to get views for some site where they get a certain CPM rate for showing that website (CPM=cost per thousand impressions)So for example if a website advertises a $0.40 CPM rate, a user has the option to join a free traffic exchange, send 1000 hits to that website and get 40 cents. In theory it works great, in practice its a bit different. Most traffic exchange users surf with java disabled, pictures and images disabled, and other tweaks that could be considered cheating because if those are disabled, the person showing their website doesn't get credited because of it.Also count the many times the site doesn;'t load properly. I would say out of 1000 hits sent to a website using a traffic exchange, depending on the quality of the users of that exchange, you could get anywhere between 200-600 actual hits to your website.Best thing to do is experiment yourself. Most traffic exchanges are free to signup so in a few minutes you can count the hits yourself and see if they actually work for you

How To Set Up A Fresh Water Aquarium! So you want to have fish.
gigidawg replied to unicornrose's topic in General Discussion
you guys seem like you know a little bit about fish and fishtanks so im gonna ask you a question.I bought a 50 gallon fishtank for my girlfriend as a gift couple of months ago. The fish were happy in it (had 6 originally) but after that the fish tank darkened with what looked like algea. A few of the fish died during that time.2 weeks ago we decided to fix up the fishtank so i cleaned it real good, and added 3 more fish (total of 7 now). We have a bottom feeder and a snail as well. Someone told me that i got the algea because we kept the fishtank light on for too long so i now shut it off completely. In just a day, the fish tank was completely covered in that green stuff. Went back to the pet store and bought another fish (dont know what its called but it "sticks" to the glass) that cleaned up the glass pretty well.Since the first time that fish cleaned it up, he did nothing. I don't know how often they eat but its been close to a week and the fish tank is getting all fogged up again with the green stuff.Do i need a bigger filter ? different fish ? more/no lightning ? im even puting a solution i bought from the pet store to clear the water (one spoon a week). Please help :)Thanks! -
hey thanks for the little trick, done all that and can't say i notice much of a difference (im already on a really fast connection so maybe that's why).Seems like firefox is fast once it boots up but it takes a long time to load (on average 1-3 minutes). Ive been researching that but cant find an answer for it.

Advanced Google Searching bend google like a ruler
gigidawg replied to jmb2006's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the great tutorial.Another feature of google's search that i use all the time (especially for school) is the define: function. You can type in define:table for example and you will get all the definitions for that word. It's faster than going to a dictionary website and looking it up. -
I have to say i LOVE the xbox.Ive had my xbox for 3 years now, its softmodded and it has a 120gb hdd in it. It does everything i can wish for from storing lots of games on my hdd, to playing streamed movies from my pcs, even playing music off of my network. If im too lazy to look outside i can even get the local weather displayed on my xbox. From that point of view i think its the best, because you can do anything you want with it (even use it as a webserver if you please)The ps2 can't even come close to that.Ive seen the xbox 360 and played it for a bit. It looks amazing, the graphics are great. Unfortunately you can't run any homebrew software on it. A couple of weeks ago they've "hacked" the xbox360 but not really because they can't get any homebrewn code on it but they figured out a way how to make any burnt dvd look like an original xbox360 dvd to the xbox so it can now play burnt games. The exploit wasn't released to the public but a video of it in action is floating around the internet.
