So, yeah, It's been a long time since I was here. I hope that this is in the right place...So I'm leaving for college next year and the first years aren't allowed to have tvs. Okay, so I still want to watch my shows from my dvr, but I'm not home enough to do so. Mom told me that she'd buy a DVD recorder if it was a good idea, but you have to watch the show in order to record it.I have Dish DVR 625 and I want to be able to get programs from it faster without taking it apart. Possible?Any ideas?

Oops! Here's the other file that it calls to. It calls for a header and footer, but they aren't the problem.... I know it's the one section that's having issues since I get an error when it's coded: <?phpif ($one==$two) { if ($two==$three) { echo " <?php echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";?> ">\n"; if ($one=="images/slots/04.GIF") { echo " <?php echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";echo "<img src=" . $special[array_rand($special,1)] . $digits2[array_rand($digits2,1)] . ">\n";?> ">\n"; } }}?> But when it's coded like this: <?phpif ($one==$two) { if ($two==$three) { echo " <?php include('rand-cards.php')?> \n"; if ($one=="images/slots/04.GIF") { echo " <?php include('rand-cards.php')?> \n"; } }}?> It works and nothing shows up... That include is to a randomizer script, and it works on every other page it's used on. Any further ideas? I'm trying to give you the best info I can. reward.php

Oops.... I seem to have misplaced the password to my router.... Is there any way to recover it? I'll try pinging it if I can get into it.[EDIT] Never Mind then.... I got it and I'm messing with it.[EDIT 2] I'm looking at my log and this is what I see: Sat May 12 13:53:28 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 221.208.208.100 Sat May 12 13:54:04 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 192.168.1.1 Sat May 12 13:55:09 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 192.168.1.1 Sat May 12 13:55:47 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 222.161.2.43 Sat May 12 13:55:47 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 222.161.2.43 #1: 192.168.1.1 is my modem as is everyone's modem... Why is it blocking that?#2: What is a DoS protection?#3: There are no settings for the firewall to see what it's blocking.#4: There is no option to ping anything. Did I miss something? That's the last edit I promise! I think it's a router issue right now...
-
I've checked the host file and that's not the issue- everything looks right. To clarify: my modem is connected to my desktop computer which is the bridge to the router. The router boosts wireless signals and my two laptops and 1 other desktop works off of wireless.I set up this router ages ago and I have all admin access to it. Where would I find my router admin panel? I'm not quite sure... I've contacted her about it and she hasn't blocked it as far as she can tell. She told me that she had no one blocked.

I've posted this at another forum and they've pulled a blank on what it could possibly be... For the past three weeks, my computers have not been able to see one certain web domain. I have 3 computers running on a wireless network with a belkin router and one computer as the provider for the internet to the router via a wired port. This website use to be accessable by each of the computers and one day I woke up and it says the server cannot be found. My friend who is being provided internet by centurytel the same as I am is able to view this site and I am not. There is no question of it not existing, my computers just can't see it. I was instructed to download Opera and try it in case it was an IE problem but I cannot see it in any browser. I have IE 6 and I have tried the other computers with IE 7 and yet I get nothing still.I've deleted all spyware from each computer including the bad bout on one of the computers. Can anyone think of a reason that this would suddenly stop working? If you have any ideas, please let me know since I really would like to be able to get to the site. The site is: goodeats.distored-melodies.org and the entire domain doesn't work. Thanks in advance!

What Will Happen If Oil Ceases To Exist?
Sinari replied to Matrixdudej's topic in Science and Technology
I think that if oil ran out- all of the possible oil not just the stuff that we're actually allowed to get to- there would be a major problem. Probably not chaos in any manner of speaking, but more of a panic. The people who don't use their cars much and have gas left, the gasoline stores and the gas stations would be the first places that would be ravaged as people wanting some would attack what they wanted to get at it. Also, another way would have to be devised to replace the oil need in a car engine. I think that if all of the oil ran out, people would become more resourceful and think of better ways to operate everyday things. The economy would be in better balance when the oil companies suffer just like other companies and maybe we'd try a little harder to conserve a bit instead of wasting so much. Without oil, the world could be a better place, or a place that no one should ever have to live in. -
Runescape makes you a slave to the game. My brother does nothing but sit and play that game even though mom finally bought him a puppy that he's wanted for four years. The game costs $5 and doesn't even have a pause button... They should make one or risk losing tons of business- I sure wouldn't sign up there! Just my opinion of it, it's not cool and has a faulty system that makes you play until you can possibly save an hour later.

My graphics site has unique stuff to it. We have a story that others can fill out and once my site is back up people come and post in it to see what others will say to continue that story. You have to offer something new... I'm not saying that what you did was bad, in fact- it was probably for the best. My friend used to have a graphics site and once she switched hosting and the hosting shut down, she lost all of her files so she decided to close down for good. Now she runs a really successful TCG site. Maybe you just need to start something totally new and unique to you to get that good feeling that you had before when you built the last one up from scratch. Hope this motivated you to find a new calling for a site...

Does anyone else have a Walmart addiction? I do. Not many people are actually addicted to that madhouse, but I still am. Even if I have to make up an excuse to head there and buy something (deodorant, trash bags, lead for goodness sake!) I'll make sure that we go everyday of the week. So far, the longest that I have gone to Walmart in a row was two months. Everyday for two months heading to Walmart to walk around and shop. It's like getting high off of Walmart!Like being addicted to it wasn't enough, when someone bad talks about it, I will stick up for Walmart and get into a heated debate about how what they are saying is totally wrong and how somethign so perfect could be as bad as they say. Like I said, I have a problem. Our Walmart is even a SuperCenter, which means that we have food, clothing, toys, music, electronics, school supplies, holiday items, a pharmacy, cosmetic secton, sports department, and a really cool crafts section. Why would anyone want to leave town if you have a Walmart that has all of that? This is also why we end up going everyday, everything that we could need in one week is provided along with more. I'm also an avid writer which makes me pretty hungry so I eat the snacks in the house for the main purpose to go to Walmart even sooner. My friends all think that when I joke about Walmart's Annoyamous it is a real joke. To me, this is a reality and a bad habit. Too bad no one believes you when you say that your addiction is something so strange as to be addicted to Walmart...

As for the end of the world, I'm a Christian so we believe that the end will come when we least expect it. Along with that note, the bible that we follow also tells us that there will be a period of warring before it comes. (Look! Iraq...) I believe that the end of the world is impending, but we probably won't live to see it. Don't come and stalk me down if the Christians leave Earth tomorrow and many people freak out because of the rapture- it's manly a prediction. RIght now I think that we are predicting it, which means that it wouldn't come true because it wouldn't be when we least expected it... Lots of psycology going on there, huh? Basically, if you believe in God and know about the book of Revelations- it's spelled out pretty clear what will happen when it does, and I don't want to be ANYWHERE close...

Suggestion For This Site The initial posting requirement
Sinari replied to Dez Ironer's topic in The Vent
I agree with midnitesun, I didn't find the posting requirement at all annoying. By the time I found this, I'd had a successful board where the server crased and another where the owner stopped paying for it and never told me to back it up and move to a different one. When I found Xisto, it was a miracle that you got an amazing deal while contributing to a social part of the internet. The internet isn't all about your site, it's about everyone's site and how they fit into the whole as a group. If you spam your way through you seem selfish and uncaring that everyone else could make good posts to get it and yet you post 200 bad posts to get it in ten minutes and it makes everyone else miserable. I had barely gotten enough credits to get the account type I wanted, the bigger one, and then I submitted it. That got me warmed up for the real posting to keep my account going. I feel as if I actually needed to post more in the beginning to get a true grip on what I was doing here and how to keep my site. If you just get it free with no limits and still have a good subdomain name or just good, reliable hosting- you're fooling yourself. It does get rid of the annoying spammer pretty fast when you think about it...(My account was just recently at -34.67 a week ago because I had a family vacation from the computers. This just goes to show that the more you post before to get the hang of it, the more you have a chance to succeed later in the hosting.... Don't use me as a good rolemodel...) -
I understand recapping of lessons and his lessons are relatively interesting.... the first time. By the second time and the same lines used as well as the third of even fourth time, they get a bit boring. Then he also wonders why we are behind when he takes three days to cover one section of a four-part chapter. He does a little more than just ask questions, but the material stays the same with the same stuff that he used to interact with us from before. It is just mixed around to try to fool us into thinking that they really are different even though they aren't.
-
Not really, he's the guy that the teachers send their evil kids to when they've done something wrong. He can punish the bad kids and people who are rude with tons of extra homework. He's big on writing so I'd probably end up with four essays in two nights or something as weird as that... I'm really a quiet person, so if anyone were to say something to him it would be the other students. Someone told him that he had already said the same stuff and he told us that we would be getting new stuff at the end of it. If so, the end never came....

I have not had a paypal account yet as I'm not old enough nor do I have an income. Two months until I do. My mother has one though. The problems that we keep on having are that they lose her passwords. She uses the same password for every single account on anything that she owns and yet, they say it's wrong when she types it in and has to reset it. This has happened about ten times. I know that they charge a fee to use it on Ebay. It's like 2 dollars and the such.... It's kind-of dumb to do that since you could send a money order instead of using paypal for most orders.... I don't really know, I know what you're saying though.

This is more of a rant just to be able to post this somewhere... I have a histroy teacher at my high school who is big on lecturing. I'm not a fan of them but they don't bother me. That is, until they get repeated over and over again. His lectures for 3 days are made up of previously lectured information but presented in a completely different way. How many times can you listen to one lecture?!I'm an 'A' student in all of my classes and I pay attention to all of my teachers. Trouble is, I get bored and thisd teacher doesn't realize that we do other stuff during his lectures instead of listening to him. He picks on me a bunch in class to answer questions because I have good grades. I usually answer them right and so we go on in a different existance. This annoys me. He picks on me in three different ways so I have to pay half-attention while I am trying to ignore him.None of my other teachers are like this, my algebra teacher even gets off topic and rants about politicians and what not! WHy does this one teacher have to be so strange? We study History which is boring the first time much less after you've heard it already. His stories are only very rarely not a repeat of an earlier one and I really don't know why..... Does anyone else have this problem?I'm done ranting now on the evil and boring ways of my teacher. Thanks for putting up with me and such... Stupid teachers.....

My mom only bans me from the computer when I do something wrong. Are you defending yourself when she starts that? I don't mean to argue iweth her, my mom yells at me for that one, but look up the subject in your library or, yes, sneak around and use the computer to research it and show her that computers won't mid control you or anything like that. As long as you're presenting her with solid facts, she should start to understand your point. Maybe also get really good grades in school so she'll be wowed by your progress and start easing up on the protective genes. Hope that helps you. About the letter thing, I was a little confused to it. Was your mom angry about you blowing off your lecture or just because you even said it? If you slip up again, before she starts to catch wind for that lecture, tell her that you're just kidding. maybe you'll even get a laugh about it. Hope that helps as well.

I have a brother so I know how that's like. You could set up a video camera and distract your parents so that he would generally be on it... Then show the tape to your parents and see what they say. If not, or they don't care, password-protect the entire computer and there is little that he can do on it. Shut it down and steal the plug until you want to use it or something else like that. Hope that helps.

I thing there should be a disablility license. Like the tags you hang in your car except a card that only those people get a power scooter so the others don't get it for the fun of it. Obesity is a big problem, and yet it's not so easy to pull yourself away from the table after dinner. If it was that easy I'd be skinny, pretty, and have loads of guys fawning over me. Well maybe not loads but you get my point. I'm not severely obese, only about 2% or so and yet, when you've grown up eating full meals and being told to finish you food before you can leave the table and having parents with a heavy hand in serving, it's hard to turn down that second or third serving. It's just hard. I do wish they would stop talking like we could lose 50 pound by moving our big butts away from the table. I personally get sick if I don't eat, so thats out of the question. Do they really flip you off? Hard to imaging that someone would do that even if you got there first. Maybe they should have driven faster...

I actually believe in what the original poster has written. I also side with others. I do believe that if we pulled out now it would cause us more trouble and I do believe that there is a deep price for oeace. Even if it's losing people of our great nation I believe that it is a necissary sacrifice. That is not to say that we couldn't be doing other things there and quit being redundant. How many times have we stalked this or done that? Maybe we should focus on another aspect of Iraq and see if it works better. Maybe finding an Iraqui that would speak for their people and be the spokesperson of peace. Then we can get rid of the opposition and finally take another step forward. Someday I believe that this war will be won by us, but only by hard work and sacrafice may we even become close.

Evil Google? WIth buying YouTube recently after putting up Google Video search it may be one step closer to a monopoly. If you consider that an evil act, it could be true! Actually, Google is a company and just because it wants to make money dosn't mean that it wants to ruin any company. As for the searches and the databases, isn't it a good thing that Google CAN expand instead of being close-minded like Yahoo or MSN searches? Can you find stuff on Google that you can't on Yahoo or MSN? Heck yes!

I know what you mean. Country music is truley evil. My dad, though being a dj and having access to every type of music possible, still insists on listening to it in the camper on the speakers, in his car, and at his house. Good thing my stepmom doesn't like country music as much! You seem to have headphones now... Maybe next time you hear that you're to be forced into a car with a country listener, you should packa pair of headphones and some normal music to get you through... Worked to Florida and back with dad driving! Hope it helps.

Personally, I'm going to wait a year or two so that they can improve on it again. Anyone remember the GB Advance? Everyone wanted one until the better SP came out and then the price dropped. That's what happens with all new technology so you can count on it for this. Because it is newer, waiting to hear some feedback from critics and others using it might be a bonus to influence the decision to ditch the IPod and join Microsoft or to stay loyal to the Ipod and snub the other. Your money, your choice- I will still say to wait at least four months.

Hello there. This may be a little late to reply but I can still be polite right? It's always great to see new Xisto people that make our board great. As you might already notice, people here like to help a ton and are kind-of fun to talk to. Hope you're having a great time here. Let me know if you ever need anything.
