I agree that robots can and will pose a threat to us eventually. One of mankind?s goal is to create artificial intelligence, right now, it is limited to bits of code that have a prearranged outcome depending on the input, which is not unlike the human mind except that we have the ability to distinguish which choice is the better one. Since the robots like in many plots see that humans are by nature evil and aggressive, they would obviously see themselves as superior to us and, ?for our own good?, bring the human race under robot control. While we build robots for regular tasks now, future robots will be used to fight wars so that humans would not be endangered. If we are able to create the ultimate fighting machine, what?s to stop it? Human beings are prone to error, and that fact is our downfall. One faulty letter or line of code can turn our greatest ally into our greatest enemy.

I would take neither, the Xbox 360 was rushed, the PS3 is untested and unreleased, there is simply not enough data to substantiate buying either one. Maybe 3 months after PS3 comes out, then we'll see.

The Best Media Player Which is your best media player?
dark_drgn replied to finaldesign's topic in Software
I love Itunes, easy to use, you can burn songs from there, and video too. Ipod control is also on it, very useful! -
You can?t technically ?learn? how to build a computer, there?s actually not much you need to know. Building computers don?t take too much technical know-how. Unfortunately there are too many things to factor into this so this is a brief and incomplete rundown on what you need to get if you do decide to make your own.1. Pick a power supply, (square boxes with fan, make note of the voltage)2. Select a Case, unless you want to use your old one.3. Pick a motherboard 4. Pick a CPU5. Install the CPU and heatsinks6. Install DDR, RAM, DDR2, RDRAM (Make sure it fits into your slot),7. Install Video Card (PCI and AGP) (If needed)8. Install Hard Drives, CD drives, DVD drives9. Pick a graphics card and Install, (Lots of research involved here)10. Install Modem ?card? (if needed)

This is my own theory, no offense is intended for any one. The US will pull out when Osama Bin Laden?s is decapitated and Al-Qaeda is dissolved. Either that or they run out of dam kamikaze people and then the leaders themselves go blow their guts to hell. A more likely theory would be when the new president is elected to office and pulls out of the hell hole the US army is in.

Largest Known Prime Number A very long number...
dark_drgn replied to sonyguy's topic in General Discussion
That should be in quotes, you ripped that off a website Amazing what we do nowadays. Why do we need to know these prime numbers in the first place? It's as useless as finding Pi to the 9 millionth decimal place! -
I have noticed the same thing, when I?m on a wireless laptop and try to access something on my desktop connected by a Ethernet cable. It seems to be impossible to do. The only method I can share files is if I connect the laptop to the router too. This is extremely frustrating and I have tried every possible way!

Your Name In Chinese what does your name in chinese look like
dark_drgn replied to snlildude87's topic in General Discussion
My names is Calvin but unfortunately my parents gave me the wrong chinese name: This is, by the way, simplified chinese. This means KEVIN translated.... How nice of my parents to name me wrongly. My last names would be Shih, or Chinese names are usually put vertically so you would read top to bottom, but in this format, it is read from right to left. -
I agree that Photoshop 7.0 may be good but Photoshop CS 2.0 PWNS THEM ALL! A great website for sigs, effects, and whatnot would be http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, excellent site, just click photoshop on the bar and you choose a category. Compared to Paint, is like comparing the Egyptian Pyramids to a mole hill. Only problem is that it is pretty advanced and most people don't even use 10% of its capacity, it takes a long time to learn the abilities and to remember where they are.

I have come across this before but I have one question, does it freeze the moment you touch a key, or after you release it? If after, then try to hit Ctrl-Alt-Del twice and see if you can get into the administrator account or something. Next suggestion: If it?s a desktop, disconnect your dvd drive/ cd-rom drive, or whatever cd thing you have and start it up. If that still doesn?t work, disconnect your hard drive and clean out the contacts, then reconnect it. My last suggestion would be to load the system setup in the beginning of the computer, usually by pressing F1, check to see if the ?slaves? and ?master? drives look accurate. Well, that?s my 2 cents, see if it works!

Cold Drink Beverages With Adjustable Suger Syrup
dark_drgn replied to OpaQue's topic in Science and Technology
That would be a good idea except that the companies who make coffee probably don?t specialize in sugar too. I guess they could make a deal with a sugar company, but people don?t like to be controlled. Some people don?t like particular brands of sugar or they may like ?Sweet n Low? (DISGUSTING). And some don?t want sugar at all. So what do they do with the packets of sugar? It raises the price off coffee and some would just throw the sugar away. The title is a little odd to me, ?Cold Drink Beverages with adjustable sugar syrup,? are we talking about soft drinks here or coffee? Adding sugar to cold liquid does not dissolve well and requires an excess of stirring for the sugar to go into solution. It doesn?t dissociate well in a cold environment with low kinetic energy. -
I think that either the person who wrote the email is a total moron, or it?s a hoax. No law official would go to a forum and email somebody with a username that has the last name of his/her client. I think that it?s a big hoax. When something like this arises, you wouldn?t just go email a person, you would CALL them or write a solid letter. While the language of the letter shows that this person isn?t an idiot. It doesn?t make the person look too bright either. If this person was valued at $28 million dollars, the government isn?t just gonad say, oops, you figure out who it goes to.

This technology is far too ahead of our time. If you we’re to break someone down into data, it would take forever to even transfer it, what if the connection broke in the middle? What if someone hacked in… The uncertainty factor is too great for anyone to want to use a teleporter like that. Even if you discovered a way to reconstruct cells, you would have to scan someone’s body for ever bit of code which would take forever. Brain cells, memory cells will be extremely hard to copy and reconstruct. And like mozzer said, it would be extremely hard for something to form in the right structure, you would have to do it instantaneously and accurately, moving millions of particles.

I have never heard of such a thing and it doesn't work for me, but you can upload Doom and other games onto your ipod like puzzle bob, snake, asteroids, and hidden fields. Much better then solitare and brick! Whats more is that it doesn't lag, just takes some extra time loading the levels though...

Do You Love Or Hate Spongebob Squarepants? love or hate Spongebob???
dark_drgn replied to P00ru's topic in General Discussion
Spongebob is annoying, gay, and has a really weird high pitched voice. Unfortunately, spongebob has mesmerized hundreds of thousands of little children. Quite recently, they took his picture off a box of candy or something because it "encouraged little kids to eat candy" and because his influence was so strong. Spongebob apparently can not tell when he is not wanted. Squidward is always yelling at him to "GET LOST" but he never pays any heed. -
There are some good keyloggers you can get off the web, unless you're talking about ones you want to use and infect someone elses computer.
