  1. I think this must be horrible and terrifying for people of all ages, especially those that are young. To me it seems like a physical impossibility but it's obviously not. I'm glad that there's enough awareness about the topic now that people are beginning to speak up about what's happened to them and tell the police, despite the humiliation and disgust they must feel. Speaking up as soon as possible should be encouraged, it's not the victim's fault that someone chose to prey on them.
  2. Unfortunately, I hate stuff like celery but I guess if you want to lose the weight, you have to make sacrifices! I've heard of negative calories before and read debates about whether it's actually true or not. But it would work because all the items are healthy and mainly made up of water, so you wouldn't get much substance in your diet!
  3. Mark and melanie should release a single, i'd buy it It's quirky and cute. Can you imagine it, if you got a good enough computer voice you could be making millions out of a computerised popstar and everyone could do it!
  4. My favourite is the Handbag.com forums, because there's a great women's community there! Who needs magazines (my major downfall) when you have celebrity gossip, diets, fashion, beauty and more and all the serious stuff like money matters and buying properties! You get to know everyone, even though it's quite a big site, so it's really nice! Plus you start recognising members names on other sites too after a while.Other frequently visited sites are google, ucas because i made a ucas application, the student room boards, myspace and job search websites like monster and fish4jobs.
  5. I've literally always had a blog somewhere on the internet. In the past I've used diaryland, myspace, msn spaces, teenopendiary, livejournal, dead journal etc. At the moment I have blogger set up on my website so I blog there. But seriously, I could be a blog/diary page reviewer. I also love reading blogs!
  6. Ok thanks everyone! At the moment I'm very busy with other work, but when I find the time I'll have another mess around and have ago at changing all those little bits I've done wrong.
  7. I think through proper sites like match etc. then you probably can find lots of genuine people, because the internet is all about communication. However there is always the chance that you could pick the 'bad apple' so to speak. Especially in chatrooms-when I was younger I used to visit them and it was mainly people looking to 'cyber' and not to chat. So i stopped visiting them. I had an internet boyfriend when I was about 13, but it didn't last very long because I don't feel like I can feel 'real' love just over the internet and I was 13 and stupid.
  8. I'm an L too and i think that it seems to be pretty accurate, but then again, i like horoscopes, so who am I to talk
  9. Ok, I did that, most of my files were .txt anyway but hadn't realised that I didn't need all the head and html tags. I tried putting in a transitional document type declaration but it makes all my text larger and underlined (like it's all a link-for example when i hover over the links such as the google ads, the lines disappear) so where is this problem? Is it to do with my style sheet or have I just not closed a link tag properly somewhere? (I've taken it off temporarily but might make another test page and play around with it.) The site is looking exactly how I want it but I understand that this DTD is important. I'm beginning to feel really crap about the whole thing now, my coding is obviously rubbish! I'm really sorry for all the trouble! Edited to add: I made a test page with the DTD on it to show you what it looks like when that's on. Other than the text size, it's fine until you move the cursor onto the page and all the text (or php stuff?) gets underlined. This time, this only happens in Firefox and is not a problem in Internet Explorer or Safari. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  10. Right, I'll add the DTD later when I'm home for more than half an hour, thanks for that! Also the html and head tags half way down the page are because I'm using PHP includes to include 3 separate documents into the page (as an alternative to horrible frames) so when you view the source it shows the html from all the three documents. If you can suggest an alternative to absolute positioning which will do roughly the same thing, I'd be happy to give it a go. I tried a few other methods but they jumbled up my PHP includes to generally made the page look a mess and absolute positioning was the only thing that would make the page do what I want. For the time being I've put that layout up because I've sorted the problem and it hopefully looks ok in Internet Explorer now!
  11. Originally this topic was asking for testing of my page in Internet explorer but someone on another forum got there first, but I still need help! I've made a page using absolute positioning and php, using percentages for positions so that it should suit all screen resolutions. However on internet explorer some of the text on the right can't be seen and is off the page, whereas in every other browser it's perfect. What can I do to make it show up properly in internet Explorer as well as all the other ones? Here's the link so you can see what I mean by the text on the right not showing properly - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  12. No i don't think so, it's just for people in the UK which is why i put it in the title There are plenty more schemes out there that might sent to Malaysia though!
  13. I know lots of people are interested in making money online, so i thought i'd post a good website that i use, Free Fivers. It's basically called this because you get Ł5 when you join (and membership is free) and you can go on to earn more money through registering on websites, conducting searches on sites such as Kelkoo and getting money back on your internet purchases! To gain the cash you have to follow the link directly from their website, otherwise it won't be counted. They pay in cheques at the moment, but i believe they are considering moving to Paypal or BACS. They pay out on around the 4th of every month, but it takes 30 days for your money to be validated and you have to have earned at least Ł25. So for example, if you joined today (16th Feb) any money you made today wouldn't be validated until around 16th March. So if the payout date is on 4th, you'd have til the 4th March to make another Ł20 (since you already have Ł5) and then wait 30 days for it to be validated and get your cheque on the 4th April. It's a long wait in the beginning but hey, it's free money and I can assure you that it's no scam because I received a cheque for Ł47 and a few other people I know have received cheques as well. If you want to find out more, they have forums on the site with lots of members and questions about lots of their offers. It's especially good if you do a lot of internet shopping and for some offers you can spend a little to make a lot. For example one of the offers was Ł37.50 cashback from Blue Square Casino if you joined, made a deposit and played through it. So i joined, deposited Ł5 and played through it and got Ł37.50 cashback on Free Fivers for it, so made profit of Ł32.50. I also then got Blue Square to delete my account, just in case i was tempted to go back! Just thought I'd like to share with you lot because it is a good site
  14. I agree, I think you guys are on the right lines! One of my most important things in a relationship is having a boyfriend that doesn't try to change who I am. In the past, i've had boyfriends that have tried to get me to wear more skirts or change how I look for them and I think that if someone chose to be with me in the first place then they should want to be with me and not try and make me into someone I'm not. Of course I always make an effort to look nice, but I don't want them dictating to me what i should and should not be wearing. Also I need someone that understands and likes me as much as I like them. If I think that I'm putting in all the effort all the time, then after a while it becomes painfully obvious so I back off to see whether they make some effort. Relationships are about give and take, and you should both do equal amounts of both - listen to each other, treat each other equally and stay faithful and trustworthy while still having a fun relationship!Relationships do require work, they're not always easy, so you should always be willing to put enough effort and care in for the other person, in order to have a good relationship!
  15. I'd also like to know if that's internationally or just in America. I've been to quite a few of the American Disney parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, Sea World and a few others i think! In England I've been to all of the main ones, Thorpe Park, Chessington, Alton Towers and some others including Drayton manor (which was extremely small and disappointing, i was expecting a lot bigger!). However, i have to admit that the American theme parks do have something that the UK ones neglect-theming. I'm always saying this, i work at a theme park and they just put the ride in and don't really theme it, whereas in America they use the queue lines to build up ride tension, tell a story and then carry it on on the ride.I think theming is something that's hard to do well, but makes a great deal of difference to the park and the ride experience when you have it! Sorry i went a bit off topic there....
