  1. That makes a lot more sense. I don't think Google would ban you with out first investigating...and just out of curiosity, how much money per click do you get?
  2. Thank you! You've managed to get my point across in one post whereas it's taken me 5+ and I still haven't made it...It's hard to get your point across in your second or third language.
  3. What's the difference between not-fully modded and fully modded? I'm not sure I understand...

    Viruses!

I used to have McAfee, but it never worked on my computer...I was never able to delete viruses or store them in the vault, which was kind of annoying. I believe there was one other really amazing anti-virus program that I had that worked extremely well...I'll try and find it.

    Heya

Welcome to the group, PunkGuitar! I look forward to seeing you around here at Xisto!
  6. I have 500 invites left...PM me if you want one.
  7. Animals have tails for assisting in balance and steering, propulsion, grasping, grooming (swatting flies is one example) and for display. Thousands of years ago, the animals we evolved from most likely walked on all four of their feet. However, now that we've evolved, and walk on two feet, there really isn't any need for a tail anymore.
  8. This is a very well-written tutorial...now all we need is a good tutorial on how to install Ikonboard...now that's a mental workout with the instructions the creaters give you.
  9. I'm still not understanding what you're talking about. Religion has nothing to do with oil, and that has nothing to do with getting food. Yet, I still don't see how tourism plays into this...we originally started talking about why you disliked the Muslim religion, and I'm not quite sure where we're at now. Please explain...
  10. I believe it took around 6 months for them to do all of that! Well worth it, in my opinion.
  11. George Bush declared war once...although it was based off of fabricated information, he doesn't declare war "whenever he wants." And in no way am I defending George Bush because I am probably one of his worst fans. George Bush declared war on Iraq, not because they were involved in 9-11, but as to hinder or halt any future terrorist plans that Iraqi extremists were planning. Believe it or not, George W. Bush makes most of his decisions based off of religion. He still declines the right for gays to marry and for women to get abortions; he has also talked about cloning in the past which was a major religious topic to get into. Again, it is their way of life, and I don't understand why you believe it to be so stupid. Through their religious practices, and their devotion to their faith, they will know much more on the spiritual level...which will help them with how they run their lives.
  12. I took this idea from another forum, and I thought it would be interesting to see the types of responses made here at Xisto. The purpose of this post is to tell the community something that you haven't ever told anyone...it can be something you've done, a secret, something just haven't really gotten around to sharing with anyone, fears, etc. Let's keep it clean and respect others' experiences.Something I haven't ever told anyone: I have synesthesia; that's where the senses get mixed up, and certain smells, sounds, tastes, and memories bring about other memories, smells, sounds, tastes, etc. For example, when I listen to music, each note or chord has a certain color. When I write, it is the same with words; each word, section, or phrase has a different color or color combination. When I write, it is like painting a picture...sorta. Everything has to be the right color...it has to sound right, look right, and feel right. Feel free to ask questions.Another thing absolutely no one knows about me is I have recurring dreams with missile sirens in them...and whenever I hear something that resembles a missile siren, it brings about bad feelings and memories. This really can be a cool discussion thread...
  13. Internet ads are annoying, especially the popups that keep returning after you've closed them a million times. A TV ad that I'm really looking forward to though is Honda's Civic...Instead of a normal TV ad, they have gathered a choir of 60 people to immitate the sounds of the Civic: winshield wipers, the car driving on different surfaces, the windows rolling down, etc. It's truly amazing, and I think it's a great ad. Here's the link to watch the commercial and the video on how it was made.
  14. That sounds just about right! Thank you for the warm welcome! Ah, how do you like your English class? OCAC: English is a fairly random language, and in my opinion one of the hardest. As for spelling words, I learned just by trial and error believe it or not. It's mostly memorization and recognition of the spellings, tenses, etc.
  15. Are you speaking from a point of view in Romania? Over in the United States, we don't make decisions based off of religion. However, most practicing Christians are influenced by their way of life. What I'm trying to say is that different religions will present different pros and different cons in each society they're involved in. Money, in my opinion, is not the exact opposite of faith - fact is. In Western Civilization we live with so much money which blinds us with luxury rather than what is right. We would rather live a life of being lazy enriched with material goods rather than a life of poverty enriched with spiritual enlightenment. That is the gap between the two civilations.
  16. Alrighty then! Thanks for the responses, and keep your eyes open for a tutorial about the planning stages of a website!

    Viruses!

If you have viruses or spyware that are making your computer do funny (or not so funny) things, there are several free anti-virus programs out there that really work, some even better than the paid-for. AVG Free works well with removing viruses, and Ad-Aware works really well with removing spyware. If you use these two together, it'll most likely rid you of your problem.
  18. Do the tutorials need to be coding or graphic design related? The reason I ask is because I am in the process of writing a tutorial on the planning stages of a website. Thanks,Iriacynthe
  19. I disagree with you - I think making religion, or some belief of a higher power, is beneficial...and that really contradicts itself. Hope is good, and in order for some people to make it through the day, they need to believe that their higher power is guiding them. Religion drives people to make it through life, the strive for success, and to have good morals. Naturally, no matter what, these morals make their way into government as well. Eastern culture has a different set of morals and beliefs. For instance, they value life and time much, MUCH more than Western culture does. Therefore, their government and the morals and beliefs of the people in charge will directly reflect the politics in that nation. There are extremists out there that do tend to blur the border between religion and government, but they don't kill themselves for 'God'. They kill themselves because they want to hurt the people that they're against, and they don't care if they die while doing it. Faith wouldn't be faith if it were proved by fact. Could you please elaborate on this? It seems to contradict a whole lot of things you've said.
  20. I really liked Final Fantasy VIII, but FFX gets my vote. I'm in the process of playing FFX-2 right now, and I'd have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with what they've done with the characters and switching back to the previous FF battle style. A couple of my other favorites would have to be Drakan and Morrowind (PC).
  21. I'd have to agree with you - the plot definitely makes the game. I like to be able to sort of become part of the game and be there with the characters. Good graphics are a definite bonus along with easy controls...It's a huge turn-off when you're trying to play the latest game and you can't figure out the stupid controls. I'd have to say the Final Fantasy series is my favorite RPG along with Morrowind and Drakan.
  22. I'm sure a lot of people put google ads up on their site and use the money they earn to pay off the fees for storage space etc. In fact, that's what I was planning to do before I looked into free webhosting - the webhost was $6.95 a month, so I'm sure it can be done.
  23. Hello everyone,I'm not too great at introducing myself, so if you have anything that I haven't really covered, feel free to ask! I'm 23 years old, male, and I'm finishing up my last year studying to be an English teacher (with a minor in music). I have a range of interests ranging from technical theatre - to writing and composing music. I love to paint and draw in my spare time, as well as study religion and philosophy and play the piano. As far as web design I've been fooling around with coding and graphic design for the past few years, and I've finally decided to start an online project. That's really all I can think of for an introduction, so do ask me more! ~ IriacyntheOh, and I like candy more than a normal person should.
  24. Western nations aren't, in fact, too liberal. The opposings sides between the conservatives and liberals are often divided equally among different nations. One of the things we value here is the freedom to say whatever you want as long as it isn't threatening someone else. This brings about problems among people, but it isn't so extreme to the point where all hell breaks loose. It is balanced on both sides of the matter. The political cartoon you are talking about is a much different view on the matter. The person who has drawn this cartoon has targetted and stereotyped a group of people. Whereas Tom Tole's cartoon was trying to make a point about our stance in Iraq, Mohammed's cartoon was an example of deliberate misdemeanor. Is a non-reformed religion that bad? Pagan religions, for the most part, aren't reformed, but yet Wicca is the third fastest growing religion in the United States. For thousands of years Pagans where the dominate faith, but it wasn't until Christianity came along, as I recall, until war and problems broke out. What we have today didn't come from Christianity. It came through trial and error...starting with the Greeks, who founded democracy. The World Wars were just that, World Wars - that's including the Eastern Civilizations. Last I checked, China hasn't ever collapsed. Western Civilizations really haven't let go of "that strong connection with God". The dominate religion in society today is still Catholicism which, believe it or not, does still weave its way into politics. "One Nation Under God" is still in the United State's Pledge Of Allegiance...and your belief in the non-God does not void the roots in the Western political system. You've mentioned cavemen, but I don't think it's fair to compare those of Eastern Civilization with a pre-evolved humanoid. Overall, what you did have to say had meaning, and it was a well-supported opinion. However, I don't see it fair to call a faith you don't like because it isn't "reformed" blind. There are many things that Eastern Civilization has accomplished that we could never hope to - and vice versa.
  25. Weren't labels those names middle schoolers used to call each other in order to make a certain group of people feel left out or untalented? I agree with what >dontmaimyourself< is saying. Everyone is unique in their own unique way. So what if they dress differently or listen to different music or believe in more than one deity or God forbid they're gay. Since when is shy a label anyways? ...And last, goth and punk are subcultures...not labels.
