i got this forum software and i installed it and they text limit is 255 characters (it's a forum for mobile web on mobile phones so thats ok) and i wanted to increase it to 2000 as my members make large posts.. So i go to phpmyadmin, find the field where the post goes in which has the type "varchar(255)" so i edit this and put length/values to 2000 and i get this error: so i look in the list and find BLOB then try and i get this: if any1 knows what im doing wrong please post here thanks in advance krap

i need to make a script that will take a number from every record in a mysql table, takeaway 1 from them all then replace them all in the right places. so if it looked like Record 1 5 Record 2 8 Record 3 9 then i exectue the script then it turns into: Record 1 4 Record 2 7 Record 3 8 i cant think of a way to do this so if you can help id be very greatful. i use opera it's the same speed as firefox and it can view wml which is important to me. I never use IE except for gmail. And i agree this site should be optimised for the non-ie users

1. How long has your site been with Xisto? I dont know since November 2. And have you had any major problem with it? Sometimes the mysql went down a few times which was a bit annoying but apart from that everythings great. I wasnt too happy about the active script but it's made me more active and my accounts only been suspended once which was when the script was introduced. I've only started actually using the hosting since january. The only reason i got the site before was because i wanted somewhere for my php testing

They send you one email a day and for each email they send you its aout $0.08 and you have to get $500 before they send you anything. Even if thats not a lie im sure nobody will get to $100 let alone 500!. Unless you're really sad you wouldn't get a thing. They say they give you $20 if you get another member. You only get the $20 if the member you got manages to get $500!! It's a scam or if not then it's very difficult to get anything.. Yoi'd be better off just getting a job

Ok here's a challenge for those who unlike me are good at php and mysql. I have a mysql database called users which has 2 (relevant) fields username and points which can be added or subtracted depending on how they good they are at rap battling(i run a hiphop forum). I also am going to make a table called crews. each crew will have 10 fields: creator, member1, member2, member3 etc. all the way to member10. Is there a script i could make(or you could make for me if you like reputation ) that could count up all the points for all the users in every crew and put them in a league. Eg. If "crew1"'s members all had 10 points and "crew2"'s had 20 each it would look like:1. Crew 2 (200 points)2. Crew 1 (100 points)That would be assuming they had 10 members each.So if you can help or point me in the right direction id be very thankful and forever in you debt..Thanks in advancekrap

the skin on the new netscape is really nasty and you cant change it and i thought it was confusing. too many different buttons all over the place. Nobody will ever beat firefox imo

Unless your GPRS is free like mine then it's not worth it. The speed can only be up to 41kb/s (that's what the phones are capable of anyway) and most operators charge something like ?4 for 1mb which is a total rip-off but we can't stop them . So unless you love having really slow internet and use less then about 5mb a month then it's not worth it. Connection Price for 5mb Speed GPRS ?20 ~10kb/s Broadband ?19.97 for unlimited* 512kb/s So after that you still want to use GPRS a good phone as a modem is Nokia 3650 which you can connect to the computer via infrared or bluetooth(you will need a bluetooth dongle for this). It's about ?100 here and it's a top phone. Cool games and you can even get mobile Opera for it. It also has a pop3 application and you download attachments from your email too.

Well i got one for free and as i dont have a pc at home (i use the one at the library to access this site - it's free ) i need it to work but it has a problem: When i start it up it says : 32768KB ok in top left hand corner and DESKPRO XL 5133/66 ROM DATE 03/09/96 in bottom right hand corner. Then it says Invalid system disk Replace the disk, and then press any key _ I cant contact the previous owner for a few days and all that i can see about the hardware is: - There seems to be nothing in the floppy disk drive (the door is closed but i dont have any floppys so i cant try and put one in to see if theres something inside) - There is nothing in D:/ - Underneath the CD drive there is an empty space hole thing which the cover has come off from (i have that) when i look inside there it looks like the previous owner took something out (maybe the hard drive?) If anyone has/had this computer could they suggest what is wrong/missing? It's not urgent but I'm doing some GCSEs soon in ICT and I need a computer for coursework ao it would be nice to use this instead of spending ?300.. Thanks in advance

What features do you want? If you dont want a camera then i recommend the Nokia 3510i it's very cheap and has a colour screen as well as java games and the ability to send a recieve pictures. It retails in England for about ?20 and doesnt break easily. Somebody i know dropped theirs down the stairs and only the cover came off. There wasn't one scratch on it
