  1. hi guys,
I use internet a lot. I am currently using internet via dial-up connection. I am planning to activate internet on my mobile phone. What shall i be needing to use internet on my computer using the mobile connection. I have seen that some people access internet using bluetooth. Does the use of data cable reduces the speed of internet. Kindly supply your valuable comments on how should i go about accessing internet using a mobile phone.

    Waiting for reply.

so i just say instead of going for bluetooth just go for the cable
but one problem you got out with the cable connection is the cable might just get out easily
i used it for many days but its better for you to go for dsl than that through mobile as they cost too much

  3. So I'm trying to install 10g on my XP Pro development box, and the install goes fine (I do the basic install of enterprise edition, I'm by no means an oracle expert) and when it gets to the part where it wants to create a database, the database creation assistant fails saying first that it cannot retrieve credentials, and then that it can't connect to ORACLE (I'm assuming this is the instance name).
Anyone have *any* idea what's going on here?

while installing itself you need to set the passwords to access your database like the sysman sysadm etc set all the passwords to the desired one to access your database
whatever it might be the oracle 10g doesn't work without those passwords

  4. rantsh,I agree with yungblood: research is the only way to get skills.
you should try to find out about the most recent security issues by using your favorite search engine to look up words like "bugtraq", "vuln", "pen testing" and so on (i am sure you will find more applicable words the longer you research...)
everything i know about getting access to remote computers i found on the internet, so you surely will, too.

  6. There are already some gadgets around this.I have a flash lamp with no batteries: you shake it, it creates electricity which is trapped inside an accumulator, and then you have free light. In normal usage (for taking your dog having a small walk while it's dark ) I find this rather disappointing.

even some cycles are equipped out with a small generator that could generate electricity
i think you need to use such equipment

  7. 8. avg doesnt have good firewalland it eats up lot of space in your ram for runningso use some othersay avira kaspersky or avast if you have a pro edition then no need of additional firewallsif you have a home edition or free edition go for comodo firewall that comes out for freeand spybot search and destroy if intersted in removing spyware

  9. Usually the usb modems have a Microsoft Windows software for, first configuring the modem, secondly to access the Internet. So, maybe you should borrow a laptop with Windows in order use the Windows software whcich will configure the modem, and then use a ndis trick in order to use the Windows driver inside a Linux Machine.
You know what ? These kind of funny things are one of the reasons why people will not easily switch to Linux, so many things are manufactured to be used with Microsoft Windows!

    what is the ndis trick
and how can i use windows driver out inside a linux machine

  10. Hey surfermac,
You haven't provided enough details for anyone to really help you out here.

What distribution of Linux are you using? e.g. Ubuntu 8.10, Fedora Core 10, etc

What is the make/model of your USB modem?

Without this information I can't really suggest what steps you should take.

    Cheers,

    MC

i used ubuntu 9 and tried all the methods
its not just one but i tried on many
like linux mint ,ubuntu 7 ubuntu 8
i tried on all the debian based systems
and the usb modem model is hawuei ec168c
so can you solve it as i want to desperately use linux on my system
