it says that you have to install usbmodeswitch.

I've been looking through all the usb distributions. Most of them need you to burn a CD, then copy the files, which I can't do. Is there some way of skipping this, some virtual disc or iso unzip tool?

there are many tools available like already mentioned deamon tools lite which is free and available at filehippo.com
and you will also find a section of tools for writing onto a dvd or cd which are mostly like the daemon tools on which you can mount the iso as a disk drive
you can also use alcohol but you need to buy this

go and talk to him directly or if you are really fed up with that company just go for another one you dont need to waste out your efforts for others

about keyring password, you have to enter password you've provided during the installation, probably your root password. you can also try this mays :

Let me make a different suggestion for actually securing your flash drive. Download Truecrypt (http://truecrypt.sourceforge.net/) and then turn the entire drive into an encrypted file system.

Ok .. my question .. would linux support my ADSL modem ? .. i have suse installed on my laptop .. but never had the guts to connect to the internet .. fearing that my system might not be safe and tweaked enuf to go on the WWW. Wouldent go full fledged unless i know my system right. I have never gone nor bothered to see if my modem would install .. but in future .. if i need .. would it be possible ? .. i own a lucent cell pipe 20A usb modem ..

Everyday my cable modem keeps disconnecting me. I get disconnected at least 3 times a day. I tried reformatting my computer to see if any viruses is causing it. After reformatting it worked but after upgrading it to service pack 4, it happened again. Is it the computer that's causing this or the cable modem. The cable modem is pretty new, it's only 4 months old. Can someone help me with this?

i think there is some thing wrong with your modemor a file of the port might be missing
its called a winsock i think
actually antiviruses keep blocking them or sending them to the virus vault
so i think restoring the file would help you
i too had the same problem and i downloaded the system files and its now better again
