  1. has anyone seen this page? http://www.overunity.com/ if it is what I think I actually had the idea a while ago but there were some complications with how to generate and store with out having a up hill stroke. a coil of wire will not offer resistance if it is not hooked up because it is not generating any magnetic field, my idea was to use a delay in releasing the power produced back by using caps and a transistor that required a certain amount of power to be able to open up the gate. thus it would allow also for a variable resistor being used to regulate the speed and there for the Hz rating of the power output. this design according to the math and allowing for real world loss of power to various things like friction and counter resistance should still produce over 40 amps of power from something the size of a Hard drive. of course I am not done with the complete unit so there may be things missing I have not accounted for and being told over and over that it will not work has made me more than an little slow at working on it, finding other things to work on.
  2. I personally would like a hard drive device that allows me to plug a bunch of USB thumb drives in and then use them like an IDE or sata drive. I bet it would be pretty fast considering if they find a way to speed up the USB format since the chips are incredibly fast when compared to all but the fastest SCSI formats and drives (10,000 rpm or higher units) also since we all know that tech gets cheaper and cheaper and USB drives would be a lot tougher (imagin a USB hard drive case being dropped while the disc was spinning top speed and you know what I mean) so I honestly think they will end up replacing the hard drive anyway.
  3. I was introduced to an energy idea that was a reintroduction to a part of chemistry class. anyone here done the distillation of wood with the result most important being the extraction of methanol? if so do you remember the tank with liquid to measure the gas that could not be condensed and if so did your class ignite this gas? it is mostly hydrogen and thus has given me enough input from experience to realize that a method called Wood gasification, is a very believable process to replace gasoline for ones engine with out a ton of costly and continually draining work. basically you just put a pressure cooker on your vehicle with limited air intake start a fire and let it burn down to coals. the base to the unit allows the coals to fall through and then you lay on top of the grate and close it up. very quickly the heat from the coals cause the wood above to break down and the gases that result are pumped to your carburetor or fuel injector, and the gas burns just like gasoline or even better. ofcourse all of this requires adjustment so unless you can adjust a vehicle you may want to get some help with it but apparently it works well enough to allow it to replace as much space as the gas tank on a normal vehicle with only a marginal excess of space and a very small amount of wood will allow the vehicle to drive a long way while producing the same or less emissions that are regulated. here are some links on the subject. (also dont forget one could be set up on a property and used to run a generator for electricity too.) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -20222/gengas/monorator-eng .html http://www.motherearthnews.com/ /Green-Transportation/1981-09-01/Wood-Gas-Update.aspx http://www.intergate.com/ ~mlarosa/images/woodgas/?M=D http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ _alexandersson.htm http://www.gengas.nu/bilder/ /index.shtml http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -20222/gengas/kg_eng.html http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ _recovery/3_alternate_energy /woodgas/fema_wood_gas_generato r.pdf
  4. that is a weird question and funny thing is I bet what ever the reason for starting and staying with green is the culprit as to people doing Hightech style movies (Matrix, Equilibrium etc.) have chosen to overcast them in green (the matrix in particular because they wanted the actual matrix scenes to be green cast to give the feeling that you were inside a computer) I have one theory and that is that maybe the reason is because the boards use copper and the green is such a sharp contrast so as to allow assemby by humans to be easier on the eyes to find the openings. What is funny is that that mask is how I intend to generate a sort of PCB etching system that is automated using very low wattage lasers to remove the material to allow the etchant to work. then once the copper is gone the same lasers will drill out the fiberglass board to make the holes.
  5. and which do you think would be best for this?reason I ask is that I have plans to build a device that will need a Parallel port that would have thousands of hard wired pins if not millions and nothing exists today that could handle that. so the idea is if a brand new style of computing were devised requiring all levels of programming to be done from scratch who do you think would be the best candidate to make a user friendly OS for it? remember BRAD NEW like using trianary or quadrinary as opposed to binary with multi sensitive transistors that would have 4 or more pin outs instead of just high and low but be able to notice variables like ultra low and ultra high with maybe a high mid and low mid range of electron counts. another alternative would be to use current processors but build a motherboard that had 50 or more sockets that allowed the OS to make parallel use of them (these sorts of machines have been built but I don't think any of them take advantage of current processor tech that is widely available) the first one will probably have a whole bank of Parallel port style 25 pin D-sub ports and a bundle of cables running from machine to machine but in the future this would change and maybe even be magnetic based to allow easier connection and disconnection. (just get it near and it pulls the connector in the right placement)and of course micro sized to allow for smaller foot print Also any ideas on how to get the specs for the machine to the community of programmers would be appreciated with this discussion as I will monitor the posts for those sorts of links so I can add them to my bookmarks I carry on my thumb drive:D
  6. Hello, The topic here is the building of self replicating (and manufacturing) equipment. Firstly I would like to know if a How-To would be used or wanted on building and using such equipment?Secondly I would like to discuss the pros and cons of this equipment i.e. impact on environment, economy and so forth.I personally love this sort of technology and have build several machines from scratch. Also if you have used a CNC based machine what software did you use for it. Please include all of it too from cad and cam to actual G-code interpretor. I personally have used lightwave to plot co-ordinates for 3D parts and CorelDraw for 2D parts then used notepad to write directly as well as Ace to convert the Autocad files that both create to generate G-code as well. I am currently learning how to use SolidWorks and MastercamX in hopes to speed up my designing. also lastly my interpretor is TurboCNC. If anyone wants links to the web sites I will edit this and add them later or I will just include them in any tutorials I write should that be desired.also one final note: What problems with the programs have you encountered? Personally I noticed that an object broken up in CorelDraw will have problems in the DXF it outputs and I have to import the DXF and measure the deviations to modify the original vector file and reoutput it to fix them. pretty much another reason for upgrading to a different method of designing my parts to be made on my CNC equipment. Also there is a group that has been designing a device called RapRep short for rapid replication device. not in my book the best design but there is invaluable data on building injection equipment with a more diverse use than just as the basic mold injection system.lastly anything that can manufacture a part and is controlled by a computer system of some sort is what is being discussed here so dont rule it out if it does not make metal parts or plastic parts or what ever and fully functional robotic assembly is the final solution. not just make the parts and then people have to assemble them but all steps. I currntly have a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) machine I am designing that uses DVD burning laser diodes and acid etching to complete the entire process (just stick in the copper clad board and out the other side comes a finished predrilled board) and after building it I want to build one that actually places componets and solders them in place so discussions on alternate methods of assembly would be cool here too. (spray on conductive materials vs. solder and such)
  7. ok I think one thing people have missed on the importance of finding another habitable planet is that there is an extreme possibility that this planet will become inhospitable far sooner than the sun will die(red giant nova all that included) reason is that our planet has been calculated as drifting away from the sun at an exponential rate that was rated I believe in the 80's as being 1 inch a year. this does not seem like much but apparently it is doubling something like every 5 years so it is now drifting at least 8 to 10 inches a year and this is going to have drastic effect at some point soon (not in our life times hopefully but possibly by the time our great grand children are in the working class) Why are we not noticing this? Well notice all the global warming due to 80% volcanic activity, 12% cows(methane), and the rest a combination of animals gases minus the 3% caused by our burning combustible fuels (no we are not the big contributors to the global warming sorry folks we aren't that important or powerful ... yet) if we were to take all of that away then we would quickly see a dramatic decrease in temperature and the steady decrease would also be noticed thus giving us time to adapt. however since we do have it we will have a number of years where it will be warmer but when we drift to far away to support some of the plant and animal growth to support the warming trend then things will start rolling rapidly down the hill the other way and a cold snap will ensue (provided the first statement is accurate being that scientists have been wrong before) and some unforeseen event does not occur due to the cooling process or even an event causes our planet to shift back or stabelise it's orbit. Two things can come from space exploration that would help this one is to use it to find another planet of course and I am all for that as it would double our chances of survival as a race and more importantly an ecology (humans are not the only thing going to that colony) but the other would be to find a way to move our planet to save it and even one day find a way to revitalize our sun extending it's lifespan. ON FEEDING THE POOR I can't agree for that reason being a good one to drop space exploration because: we pay farmers tremendous money every year through our illustrious government to let grain and other crops to set in their silos and rot inorder to keep the market from financially plummeting. and since that is the case then the government should buy that grain as it already has and transport it out to be used to feed the poor, while they are being educated to become a productive members of society. (maybe even workers in some facility that gives manufacturing support to the space industry ;-) ) as for NASA I think more private sector money should be devoted to privately developing space faring technology and far out way what NASA is currently doing (spaceship one is an example) If you want over unity you have it but it is over looked. we as humans produce far more of what we need than we actually use so we can apply that extra energy and profit to this.)
  8. ok that last post is most annoying (not the poster but the person who claims the light runs off of gravity. instead of running off of gravity it is running off of stored kinetic energy, and once again gravity is merely the means of extracting the energy. how ever it does raise the question of a "Cell" like a solar Cell that instead of light is agitated simply by the passage of gravity though it thus having it positioned right to maximize the potential is all that it would need and potentially could be buried under a house to protect it from the elements, vandalism and any other threat that might shorten it's life span. also such a device would most likely not be diminished noticeably if another stack were placed over it (unlike a solar cell) so an entire stack could be boxed and placed under a chair or couch or any other such item in an apartment. Any ideas on what sort of materials that could be used?
  9. actually there is a guy by the name of Paul Moller that has been working on such a thing for the last 40 years. unfortunately he has failed to deliver a "for sale" product as of yet. and I think to be able to use such a thing would require a pilots license (maximum ceiling to be 36,000 feet) as for safety I am sure there will be people unable to safely operate it that will end up with one just like those uninformed with the first microwaves that end up hurting them selves or others but this is the way with any technology. even the air bag meant to save lives has busted up it's fair share of noses and even killed a few people that otherwise would have survived the "crash" that activated it Moller's flying car site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  10. I'm not sure if this will make anymore sense than the first post in this topic but .....basically fine arts i would classify as something that the person wanted to make vs. wanted to sell and there for is what the buyer wanted. this usually equates to either simple messages vs. entire stories (a movie vs. a tv commercial) and artists are usually classified as people that think to much even by other artists so they look deeper and understand a bit more than the person that buys art (why buy something you can make ? there for unable to create the art and therefor more limited understanding of abstract concepts like emotions and such) so my synopsis is this...fine art=more complex and there for decor is fitted around itcommercial art= less complex and there for is made to fit existing decor(i.e. buyer of art says "this painting matches my living room suite so I think I will buy it to hang in the living room" vs. "this sculpture just sums up how I feel right now so I am going to get it and buy a new living room suite to fit it")if I think of anything else profound enough to warrant a post I will come back and do more than read others responses :)and by the way these are my opinions and the opinions of the people at a local art wholesaler that I sell some of my pieces to
  11. I did a search really I did, and found nothing on REG devices or even mind over matter, so here goes. the PEAR (Paranormal Engineering Anomalies Research) institute of Princeton University has done studies on how the human mind effects the universe through manipulation of virtual particals (i.e. particals that may or may not wink into existence but usually do not) and they even went so far as to develop a software program that not only allows for observing the effect but even tracks it and graphs the progress. I have the program and it is called shape changer. They also developed a sort of switch that one trained can turn any device attached to it on and off. at the heart of the switch is what is called a Random Event Generator thus the name REG. any one have any questions about the software of have any ideas about furthering the research that has been all but abandoned by the research team to pursue researching epilepsy now. my idea is to miniaturize the REG device and build a keyboard utilizing them. if that could be done then some one could type from anywhere in the world awake or asleep. this closely ties in with an interest I have in remote viewing so any ideas and or discussions on that topic as well is wanted for this thread. a link for the pear institute: http://www.princeton.edu/~pear/ also it seems they migrated to some degree here http://icrl.org/ and for a bit of info on the REG device http://noosphere.princeton.edu/reg.html
  12. how about super polarazation or super ionazation? either of those two could make things such as gasoline burn much more efficiently.also--@Milesdid you know there is an electric car company with that name?I will definitely have to try the freezing and video capture it in case anyone wants to see my experience with it
  13. firstly I would like to create a distinction between over unity and perpetual motion. basics of the two is that the latter does not have to produce extra power and in fact if not all of the extra power is extracted from the former then it will destroy itself thus ending the possibility of being perpetual. Now about the permanent magnet idea. every design I have seen has ignored the fact that moving a magnet past another magnet requires the same amount of energy as it will generate once it is past the resistance of that magnet. so how would one get past that? Eliminate the initial resistance that exists by moving it away until the other is past the resistance field. this would create a sort of effect much like say a person riding a bicycle and the hills he rides up or down are flat until he is at the area of which the top exists then to have the hill rise so he can coast down and out over the flat area next to another said hill. It is an idea I am going to attempt at some time in the near future using old waste hard drives to supply my materials. and on another note if one is interested in something very easy to build and supply say light to cut down those electric bills try looking into the flapper technology. I believe the official term is windbelt and here are a few links http://www.reuk.co.uk/Windbelt-Cheap-Micro-Wind-Generator.htm http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I honestly believe this is the easiest to build electric generator and with basic electronics knowledge you can even power an entire house while using then generators to make say a fence (that is a friend's idea so I can't claim credit there) just so you understand magnets are not producing their pull magically from nothing but instead are simply aligning a lot of some sort of background energy on a specific frequency thus the reason they only effect similar materials (you can read up more on how each atom has frequencies it responds to and how it "ignores", or is transparent to, others by going here (bose-Einsteinum condesation site) which by the way is probably how true cold fusion will be accomplished http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ what really makes me wonder is if there are other forms of material attraction that if one but has the frequency maybe a magnet for aluminum r other materials could be made? this I think would be a far more important discovery than even over unity as this might give us the control over materials to allow for manufacturing technics that would rival what we are led to see in say even star trek shows. there are more things I could write about but I think I am getting of topic so I will leave with this one final thought. Who cares is the free energy device you make will power a city? just take care of your power needs and let others do the same. if you can get free or "green" energy for your needs then you have removed your self from the burden that society currently places on our ecology. If you want to do more then write photograph and document your success so others can at least mimic you. and Luxeon's all the way!!!!
  14. Hello all,Not much to tell except that I constantly change and evolve but never seem to fit anywhere specifically so I use a shortened version of the term amorphous which is slightly misspelled of course. anyone thinking about the movie should realize it would be spelled Morpheus, and is in now way affiliated with me
  15. yup that's me, I did not see the intro forum until I posted about Rubik's cubes. I am an engineer by trade and mis-speller hobbyist. ;-) There is to much, inregards to myself, to list, or write about, here, soooo.... if you want to know something just ask.
