Life After Death? do you believe in it??
kelvinmaki replied to baby bear's topic in Science and Technology
I voted Yes.I think it fully depends on what religion you're in. If you are a christian, then there's definitely something after death. If you're taoist, then there's not even a life after death. You will be reborn to another life. But as a christian. Yeah.. Believe in that. -
Free yet Powerful image gallery will definitely come from open source. http://spgm.sourceforge.net/ Used it once and like it. I personally feel that for Image galleries, some of the basic and essential function would be unlimited sub galleries, slideshow and customization which SPGM provides. There's some demo pages that you can view before download and use. Cheers.

I personally don't really use these communities website a lot, however due to friends invitation, I joined. Anyway Joined Friendster and Facebook but not Myspace or any other kind of site. Friendster is still quite well organized although there's lots of ads around and slow loading time. And whatever function I used friendster to communicate, are there. So pretty much straight to the point. Afterwhich, switch to facebook. Apparently all my friends from friendster switch to facebook. So just follow.. An interesting function from facebook would be Facebook Apps. I find it pretty cool to look at friends profile in a whole different angle. And the best part of facebook, Ajax. No more long loading time. Anyway facebook just bought over by Microsoft. So just hope that Microsoft won't make it to something like Myspace as what many hates.

How To Make Windows Xp Faster
kelvinmaki replied to robert2411's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would recommend hijackthis. Its really worth studying or look into this. You can manually configure your system resources and runtime with just what you need. Google it and you can find quite a bit of tutorial on this. Comparing with Registry tweak program, I feel that its better as Registry program are mainly quite general. And what's more, I've use this to clear some of my virus/trojan. Worth it. Cheers -
Changed Domain Name And Re-direct Old.
kelvinmaki replied to Chesso's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would assume that you are using the same CPanel for both the domain name as you only mentioned that you got a new domain, then you can try adding the new domain name to your Cpanel Parked domain. By adding your new domain name to parked, you can use chessoscorner.com and your new domain redirect to the same place. However, If you have 2 Cpanel, one for chessoscorner.com and the other for your new domain, then use what Jimmy89 suggested. Cheers -
Hi,Quite a handful of reviews. So I think it would be alright to post something here. Anyone knows where can I get to do all the dribbling and faking ingame? The keys to press for each fake? I had hard time getting the ball pass those COM players Thanks in advance..

Best Free Anti-virus Program NID UR ADVISE PLS. HELP
kelvinmaki replied to donitoz's topic in Software
Just anti virus alone, I would recommend Avast 4.7. Here is the site to download https://www.avast.com/index Previously had used quite a number of anti-virus, include those commercial ones. But some are good but too heavy to run in my computer. If you want to use norton, don't use. It loads slow which take up most of your memory during startup and moreover, it didn't clear some of the virus in my computer even you've update the virus definition. AVG are pretty good too. But just didn't have enough features for my use. With Avast, you can specify which engine to run ur scan. There's a total of 6 scanning engine for each specific task. So if you want to really protect your PC, that will be recommended. Anyway I don't work for Avast. Just giving my 2 cents. Hope it help. -
HellFire121 is right. It should be your setting in the Power Option in control panel. When opening it, there's an option to select Power Schemes. If you have software installed, then you should let your software handle the power management. It should allow you to choose your custom setting when you are plug in to power or using battery. Follow the step by step instruction, you should get it done easily. Cheers

Getting Certain Parts Of A Record The character data
kelvinmaki replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Programming
Anyway for what I know, selecting the date from mysql database will ALWAYS be in YYYY-MM-DD, eg. 2007-10-17. Unless the data type of that date is set to TIMESTAMP. Then it will have YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS, with the time. Just like to confirm on that. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks -
LOL.. That's true after looking at the date of its raise date. But anyway its still for a good laugh since I don't normally look at ancient post. Anyway extending the duration of the traffic lights for pedestrians but how about for those vechicles? Sometime when I drive, the traffic lights are way too long. Even though there's no pedestrains, we can't pass those red lights as there's traffic cameras around. So the question is how should the duration of those traffic lights be. Can't possibly dash those red lights, will get fine $1000.

No doubt that Xisto provide one of the best services for webhosting. And its a really interesting idea where users should be active in forum activities in order to earn credits for the webhosting. However there's always this problem where to earned credits. Yes, its simple by just posting new topics or replying others. But sometimes its really hard to find some topics that you can relate to. If you know what I mean. --kelvinmaki

If you can't find an antivirus program that boot from CD, maybe you can try avast. After installation, you can do a startup boot scan. And that's really boot scan. Like in Bios. Not those load to windows and does all the scanning in windows.

Some Facts I Found These are some facts I found
kelvinmaki replied to computerjoe's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Although quite a pretty old topic, I will still comment a bit on it. These are a few that are pretty interesting. But as what Chesso said, some are pretty hard to understand. If I could remember correctly, there are actually a particular website that I've came across and that contain the full list. Just can't remember the name of that site. Maybe someone might be able to help Chesso out. -
JavaScript: A Welcome To Visitors Script give your visitor a warm welcome
kelvinmaki replied to cherri's topic in Programming
A warm welcome to visitor may not be wise in a website as what Brian mentioned. However a popup with important notices can useful. A few website that I've visited contain some Javascript popup that contain important notices. Guess if your college website will have those like project dues notices.. But for those welcome message... maybe not. -
Actually this is 1 way to do it and its a great way to do it. And if you are using Microsoft Excel, then you can use advance filter function that will filter all duplicates. So don't have to manually look through your data. Steps will be: 1. Sorting all data. 2. Trim all data without any spaces at the end. 2. Click on Data -> Filter -> Advance Filter. 3. Select Action: Filter the list, in-place. 4. Check on Unique records only. 5. Click ok. That will basically filter all duplicate records. Hope this help too. And if you are using other spreadsheet, like OpenOffice, you can do that too. But don't know the steps. Cheers

JavaScript: A Welcome To Visitors Script give your visitor a warm welcome
kelvinmaki replied to cherri's topic in Programming
Its the same for the header. But normally people would use <script src="codes.js" type="text/javascript"></script> or <script type="text/javascript">codes here<script> And here is a startup link to learn about Javascript as requested. Hope this help. Cheers http://www.w3schools.com/js/ -
Come to think about it, the only place where I always find those open source alternatives are only from https://sourceforge.net/. However, comparing the reviews of those open source software from both sites, osalt website seems more comprehensive. But of course there's much more projects in sourceforge.com. Anyway thanks for the site. Cheers.

How Fast Does Your System Boot, And What's Your Os? Poll
kelvinmaki replied to dserban's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Agreed. Currently using Diskeeper for defragmentation rather than the Windows one. Graphical Interface is pretty comprehensive. With mapping and percentage of how fragment your harddisk. Worth a try if anyone is interested. http://www.condusiv.com/ -
How Fast Does Your System Boot, And What's Your Os? Poll
kelvinmaki replied to dserban's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I've booted my OS within 15 secs and I actually counted it. Anyway for this to happen, my machine didn't have a lot of startup program that need to be loaded at startup. Just a few. And of course I've been doing a few system maintenance quite regularly. 1. Defragmentation. Think it is the core of lagging your system bootup. 2. Removing those startup programs that I don't need it. 3. System cleanup, free space (Some says it doesn't affect the speed of the bootup, but it just gets faster after I done it. ) 4. Scanning of virus. I think that's quite a handfull of tasks to do in a regular basis though I'm not that hardcore to tune my registry. Cheers. -
Since this topic is about media conversion, then it should be alright to ask some queries here. So anyone came across any image conversion online? Like resizing the resolution on the go. Those url only stated media as in Videos and documents files. But there's no image conversion. Any url will be appreciated if you came across one.

You are totally right about comparing ipod with PSP and DS Lite. Regarding the size, and the price, it will be totally more worthwhile buying a PSP or DS lite. But I would say PSP is better. Bought an Ipod 15GB 3rd generation a few years back. Had fun with it but only for those music that I've uploaded into my ipod, just can't seems to get it out. I think that's about some copyright issue there. But definitely would want an itune which can do vice-vers transfering. Anyway now got a PSP and I've stop using my ipod. Some much more I can do with it and can even check my emails from the PSP. Ipod touch is just another of those ipods with better storage and better interface. Just some thoughts. Cheers
