  2. So i just wanted to make sure of something here, can I use Joomla! as a free html editor?? if you want to see their site you can click here Thanks 4 all the Re's! -Murtahg
  3. Lol thats all u wrote? Seems to me that you just wanted some extra credits!!! If you want to get easy credits then at least seem to care about what someone posts! Maybe more than 8 words??? Especially if the topic is "no links in the shoutbox ,find out why" and your reply is "good idea to stop posting links in the shoutbox!". I wonder if you got any credits for that? Because if you did, I should get triple that just for pretending to care about this topic!
  4. Hi all, I am new to this entire Xisto thing, I have used Tripod's Site builder my entire life!( Click Here To Visit Tripod Hosting ). First of all, when I go to my new website that I made using Xisto(I think, see below) I see text that says something like "Welcome to your new website! Please log in to cPanel by going to yourdomain.trap17.com/cpanel and change your email account, blah...blah...blah" Visit my site at azerothheroes.trap17.com for full "View". Second, How do you use cPanel at all? Where do I go to view/change my websites pictures/text and change the spots that they are in? I want to be able to view what I am doing/changing! If you have ever used Tripod sitebilder you will understand. Is there a way to change things without knowing html by heart??? Third, why is my sub-domain Xisto if I used Xisto to get credits and everything else? Fourth, How do I see what my website looks like? Please help me!!! If you read my entire post then u will know how bad I need support about this!!! -murtahg Visit my old site at http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk/
  5. Im glad that im not the only one having problems with Cpanel. I dont understand this at all! But this is the wrong place to be sayin this, see my new thread in the Free Web Hosting>Xisto>Hosted Members Support>cPanel>I dont understand cPanel!!!
  6. I like Both Desktops and Laptops for a bunch of reasons.Desktops Laptops-easy repair -Very small and lightweight-faster -Internet no matter where you go-More memory capacity(and cheaper memory) -You always have a computer with you-direct link to internet(no 3rd partys slowing you down!) -They look cool(lol) -INTERNET NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO!!!Hope this helps! -Murtahg
  7. Sounds more like the battery itself than the motherboard. If the battery isnt holding any charge at all, like it sounds like in your case, than the laptop wont turn on untill the battery registers Fully charged. When that happens, the laptop will to switch to AC Power. If your laptop is on AC Power then it will always turn on because it wont be working of the battery(which isnt holding a charge) but it will be working off AC Power directly from the outlet. A little confusing? I know. In short, Order a new battery! Hope this helps your dillema, -Murtahg
  8. I dont know about a compaq 1700, but my Compaq Presario V200 has a Broad Com 802.11 wireless adapter in it and when it stoped working on me I figured out how to fix it:(1)immediatelly after turning on the laptop, press the F10 key(sometimes I press it reapetedly so that the laptop registers it, remember, its just starting up)(2)Computers BIOS settings will open in a blue screen(3)Click the advanced tab(4)Go down to WLAN adapter (5)Click enter(6)Enable the adapter(7)Go to the Exit Tab(8)Click Exit And Save Changes*These directions may be alittle different because of the model year*Hope this can help, I hated when that happend to me -Murtahg
  9. Your talking about upgrading your Ram, but that isnt the only thing you should upgrade for improved speed. Ram is not for prossesing info, thats what a prossesor does(lol). Also, your MotherBoard has a bit to do with Speed. And, like a ton of other people said, Vista uses a lot of Memory for its components(then add all the programs you installed on top of that), so you would need to upgrade your Hard Drive memory too. Yea, it cost alot of money. It sounds better to just buy a new computer, but if you want to get good prices for brand new upgrades, check out 4allmemory by clicking here they have nice prices on more than just Ram, and its designed specifically for your computer. -Murtahg p.s, Your talking about upgrading to 4Gigs??? My laptop only has 256Megs and it runs like a racehorse!!!
  10. That really stinks! First of all, make sure the idiot guy gets fired!!! Did you try system restore? Someone else had said this already, but I wanted to make sure you heard. Also, if you had Symantec's Norton GoBack installed on the computer it will let you "Go Back". I dont know exactly where you can find Norton on your computer, but you can ask a DIFFERENT guy from a DIFFERENT store how to fix this. A last resort could be to open up the BIOS info by clicking the F10 key immediately after starting your computer(this works with my Windows XP Home Edition Laptop) It should open up a blue screen with a bunch of info. Find the Tab for hard drives and restore your hard drive. I dont know if this will work though, because you said he replaced the hard drive. I really feel bad for you though. Make sure you get the idiot fired!!! (then you can sue him!, lol) -Murtahg
  11. It depends on how private you want to be. If you leave it on 24/7, making it a secure network is as easy as creating a password for it. Even with a password, a dedicated hacker will eventually figure out your password(with a good password it would take like 5 months to figure out though, so dont be to worryed about this unless your pc controlls Microsoft itself). When you turn off your router you close wireless acess to your network, and your computer in the process(duh), so turning off the router is the best way to keep your computer safe. Hope this helps, -Murtahg
  12. I think Windows XP is best because it has a very user friendly enviornment, and security is good. It is easy to find what you are looking for with windows XP, and Microsoft makes Windows easy to use. Also partly because the only other operating system I have ever used is windows 98, rofl. Hope this can help your poll out! -Murtahg
  13. I usually say char exactly like chair. But when I think about it, I think it is pronounced care as in the first syllable of character. I think that everyone says it differently, and there is no right or wrong way to say it. Thats weird to me though, when I think `bout it. Lol -Murtahg
