  1. While Smiley Central advertises itself not to be spyware, I think that they are definitely up to something. I think that someone using my computer installed it by mistake and it was a pain in the butt to remove. There were several programs that got installed together with the smiley central app and some of them had to be manually removed. Then I swept my computer with lavasoft adaware, antivir antivirus, hijackthis, and spybot search and destroy to make sure nothing was left on it. But I'd say stay away from heavily marketed programs that are geared toward luring in teens and pre-teens who are non the wiser, or even adults.... lol

  2. For the purposes of having a resume, it has always been my view that the simpler the resume, the better. I do think that if you can balance the effect of having your accomplishments and skills jump out of the page and having something easy on the eyes that they won't throw away, then it's a good idea to explore other options besides the craptastic office suite that I used to make mine (ms word). My guess is that you're planning on having this resume more to view online than as something that you'd bring over to employers' offices when you interview. There are a lot of tips on writing good resumes, but none on doing them in photoshop. The reason for this is that resume is designed to put yourself out there instead of having something that looks pretty. Not everyone can get away with what Elle Woods did in Legally Blonde. But it wouldn't hurt to try, right?

  3. How about we put the ball back in your court? You can learn how to make signatures by downloading a free program called GIMP, and go online on Google and search how to make them. It should be a fun learning experience for you, and then your friends would think that you're super cool

  4. Why would you wantt o change your processor on your laptop? As the above people said, that can mean that your warranty could be voided, and you could mess up your laptop. If you don't know too much about computers, then think twice before attempting it by yourself. Maybe carry it in to Bestbuy or Circuitcity or something if you live in the USA, or have a reputable company do it for you. It might be worthwhile to just sell your laptop on ebay and buy a new one with the processor you want in it already.

  5. You can die by doing a lot of things. Why bother about dying from asparatame? I heard that it can kill you, but so can many other things in this world. Alot of the diseases that we get today in the USA and so-called developed nations is from lifestyle choices anyways. Soda is not good for us and to feed to our kids, but what are we bombarded by every time we turn on the tv? Commercials and advertisements when we are driving in our cars inviting us to drink Coke or Coke products, or Pepsi or pepsi products. There are so many things that are bad for us, but if we really focus on that, then there's no way we could enjoy our lives. My advice would be to do your best to do what's good for yourself and your family. If you want to indulge in something that's good for you, do so at your own risk. Just don't endanger other people.

  6. I would guess that the iPod touch would have to have a helluva lot of features to cost 10x more money than the 160gb ipod video. The prices should go down for the holidays... even thought apple decided to release the ipods in the 4th quarter. It still should go down some more I hope. Maybe the new Zune would give iPod a run for its money, even though I doubt it, since iPod has become more of a fashion statement than any other mp3 multifunction type player. And I think that you're paying for screen size and the 'cool' factor when you buy an ipod touch. If you like watching your videos on big, but yet highly portable video screens, then the ipod touch might be just what you're looking for. Everyone I know who has something like an iPhone always has people wanting to poke at it and check out the features. So I think if you crave attention, an iPod touch might be what you need to get it too. But hey, it's my two cents... probably not making too much sense. lol

  7. I currently run Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, and I think that it's pretty cool. I run it on Windows XP though, and the interface is blue, matching my theme on XP. I'm also curious about how to get to the black theme using Office on Xp. The new edition of office makes it alot more convenient to get to certain settings, but if you're accustomed to the features on office 2003 or office xp, then it will take a bit of time to get used to. It was hard at first to get a powerpoint going, because alot of the normal options you would find on the 'traditional' style toolbar in XP were replaced with broader categories. But once I got used to it, I actually preferred this version to the 2003 version. There are quite a few more formatting options, due to the ability to use CSS styles when creating documents. I can't wait to see if there is going to be any new versions for Mac in the future. Office 2004 on Mac is pretty good too.

  8. Tibia seems to be a pretty cool game if you like the role playing types of games. I'm more of a fighting game or racing game type of person, though, so I'll pass.

One good thing about it is that it's FREE! Unless you really like it and get addicted enough to want to purchase a premium tibia account. Then you'll have to pay for it. Here're the rates that I found from their website:

Tibia Premium Accounts DurationPrice (including all taxes)

    3 months (90 days)EUR 19.95(EUR 6,65 per month) 6 months (180 days)EUR 34.95(EUR 5,82 per month) 12 months (360 days)EUR 59.95(EUR 4,99 per month)

  9. Are you 100% absolutely sure that it's not a problem with your connection temporarily restarting? I too use MSN messenger aka Windows Live Messenger and I don't get this problem unless there's a problem with my internet connection. Do you have some kind of firewall that might be causing the problem? I'm not a computer expert or anything, but it could also be the network. I remember back in the day when I used to use msn a lot, there used to be problems with it shutting off and starting back again for no reason, but this problem has stopped. If it's a consistent problem, how about doing a clean install and see if it keeps happening?

  10. I don't quite understand. You have another account with Xisto named rebirth, but you registered "LOL"? Why not use the other nickname instead of having two accounts? I'm not sure if Xisto allows you to have two accounts under them receiving free hosting. But I co uld be wrong. Anyways, I hope you get youre free hosting! Everyone deserves free hosting!

  11. I still use gmail alot, even though I know that they are collecting my information. I also use outlook express on the ad.ufl.edu server, which is pretty good. I have msn hotmail, but I don't really use it that much. It kind of annoys me with all of the spam that I get. But, like the person above said, alot of msn messenger contacts use hotmail, and it's been there since a long time ago. But yeah, right now, gmail is the way to go.

  12. You guys might want to check to see if it's compatible under Windows XP service pack 2. This tunexp program hasn't been updated since 2004. Just make sure that you know what you're getting yourself into, and it wouldn't hurt to back up your files before you mess with your computer. Here's what softpedia had to say about tunexp:

    <h2 style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 7px; font-weight: normal;">DH TuneXP description

one of the best and most powerful Windows XP tweakers ever</h2> DH TuneXP is a radical, new tool is the one of the best and most powerful Windows XP tweakers ever, supporting totally unseen tweaks, which is unique to the program.

    Among <script type="text/javascript"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js; them is:

    - Ultra-fast boot (rearrange boot files)

    - Boot folder defragmentation

    - Prefetch folder cleaning

    - DNS cache optimization

    - File allocation size tweak

But that isn't all. It includes a plethora of other performance tweaks, which will make your Windows installation run faster than ever before as well as Windows Service configuration.

For the first time ever, it allows the user to control a few of the most common performance suckers and annoyances

  13. Many people have been disappointed with the Zune- Microsoft's attempt at developing an iPod killer media playing machine. I don't know too much about media players, but you would think that if it has wifi capabilities, it should be able to go online. Well, the MS Zune lets you preview other people's music, which you would then have to buy. I guess that the idea has some merit, but come on? I digress. Does anyone think that the Zune will outsell the ipod this holiday season? Some people seem to think so. With a price tag of $100 in some popular electronics stores for a pre-ordered version of the 2nd generation Zune, who knows that's in store for us this holidays. I would say that it's going to be tough for anyone to beat out the ipod, but ipod is competing against itself and transitioning to the iphone-like technology in their newest ipod touch player. To try to rival the ipod nano, there's the sportier flash zune, which doesn't have the hard drive like other players, but is very good for music and a small amount of video. ipod killer? What do you guys think?

  14. You guys are so democratic in the way you answer this person's question! Kudos to you. I agree that Bravenet's password system might be just what you're looking for. Maybe if you can provide us with a sample of what type of information you want users to password protect, then we can help you. But the bravenet tool should be useful for simple purposes. If you want to be more 'professional' then use your own script, or pay someone for their hard work. Or just go on the internet and learn how to use a search engine. It's that easy!

  15. I wish I could get a laptop with a processor worth its weight in gold! Or something that will at least not crash every 5 minutes... Apple Macbook Pros are awesome. They don't need gold and diamonds to be awesome. Plus, you might be thinking how fly your laptop is, and then somebody else might think the same thing and go and steal it from right under your nose. Then they will be boasting to their friends about the gold laptop that they got for free.

  16. Are you trying to remove McAfee or the virus? I currently run AVG antivirus and I don't have any such problems. When I used to run Mcafee, a virus took over my computer and rendered mcafee completely useless. Have you tried to quarantine the virus and then manually delete it? Maybe you are being hijacked or something... You can try a host of other methods too if you still get the virus problem. Lavasoft adawarehijackthisor install a new antivirus and see if it works.

  17. It's easy to fall behind in posting, but the benefits far outweigh the cost. Just log on every week and make more than 7 credits in posts. Or as they recommend, have at least 10 hosting credits to your account in case anything happens. To the original poster- I think you made a grammatical error. This site is awesome and my website runs reliably and fast, as long as I'm not negative on the hosting credits. Good luck finding another host that's free and offers the same great value, and overall customer satisfaction from its clients. And come back and tell us about it. =) hehe.

  18. I wonder what the price of these things will be. I would figure that if Sony is marketing these products, then I will not be able to afford it... It's cool that Sony has great ideas and inventions, but you have to be loaded to have them. Another issue is that with the size of these machines being so small, how easy would it be to fix one of them once they go wrong? And how easy would it be to steal one? I love technology. I remember when I had a huge tv that was only 19 inches. Now my lcd monitor is bigger than my old tv and costs less, not to mention saves more space and is lighter. What will they think of next?

  19. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sucking up! It's not as though Xisto is going to give you something extra special for it (or will they.... hmmm) lolall jokes aside, this hosting service IS truly amazing. I just hope that the unrivaled service and support continues, and that the whole idea of 'free hosting' lasts forever and ever. Xisto is amazing. - Trinifawk

  20. Google will one day take over the planet with their services. They are already a big corporate force in the IT world, so why not throw some money into making a new operating system? My guess is that it would be free, but ad-based. Let's face it, alot of people go to google ads when they want to buy stuff online. Their marketing has been awesome at getting customers and satisfying business-owners. I wonder what the name would be? G-OS? GoooOSe? - Trinifawk

  21. I hope when you say you buy 32 packs of water bottles twice a month, you mean that you buy two packs of 32 water bottles, because if the former's true, that's just...shocking. I find buying water bottles a waste of money if you buy a lot of them, because it's just water. There was some news story a while back about how some of the water bottles contain just about the same water (like mineral content and such) as the water that comes out of your tap. Besides that, all the plastic used is really not environmentally friendly at all, as you've said.
I also use my own plastic bottle, a durable Rubbermaid thing that doesn't ever seem to break no matter how many times I drop it or gets knocked over by some of my more clumsier peers at school. It's more than a little scratched, but that doesn't matter much as long as it's leakproof. (Wouldn't it be scary if it leaked water onto my essay? o.O)

    Serena

I mean I used to buy two of the 32-pack bottles of water per month. I've noticed that plenty people from Gainesville, FL, where I live, do their best to recycle. That's something to be proud of. I see people biking everywhere, walking, using washable water bottles, and it makes me proud to see people taking care of the planet. It would suck if the only time people really started to notice was when global warming became uncontrollable.

  22. This was in Los Angeles right? That's pretty dumb to ticket an old woman trying to cross a street. I guess that the officer felt it necessary to enforce the law upon pedestrians violating it. So, she got a ticket for jaywalking or something? There must be something in the Americans with Disability Act that could help her to win her case. Even though many people don't even bother to go to court over these things because they find it too much of a hassle. Sometimes the system just stinks.I would totally understand it if it was a car, because your vehicle is supposed to be in good condition when you're on the road. On the I-75 in Florida, the minimum speed you can go is I think 50 and the max is 70, even though everyone goes about 80mph without getting tickets. But we're talking about people here. - Trinifawk

  23. I decided to try out the lightspeed, and I completed about 4 surveys to see what would happen. Each time I tried it, right after I finished the survey, I got some kind of technical error, and I wasn't given credit for taking the surveys. They still email me now about surveys, but I'm just going to mark them as spam because of my experience with other surveys. Sometimes it would take as much as 10-15 minutes doing a survey and you won't get credit for it. Good luck to those who have had pleasant experiences with lightspeed. I'm not going to waste my time with them any more. - Trinifawk
