  1. Oh wow, this is so cool!yet for some reason i seem to be feeling a little sorry for Microsoft. Should I be shot-down??? Oh well never mind. Thanks to O.P for giving me a good laughSaf
  2. ezyrewards seem a bit dodgy..and anyway it would take ages to get your free domain. Wouldn't you just rather pay a small amount of money and buy a domain? They don't cost much now anyway so find a cheap one and buy it instead of wasting time with stuff like this. And also, the OP only posted it hoping that someone would sign up through his.her referral link. SPAM.Just my opinions ......Saf
  3. 1 - wired is way better then wireless. Much faster and no connection losses however it includes loads of wires trailing around if you have a few comps and other equipment 2 - You could just not connect the internet to that network so that it would be impossible for someone outside your network to access your equipment. 3 - With wireless you would have to buy either Usb wireless modules or pci (in-built) or (pcmcia for laptop) cards which go inside the computer 4 - Not sure about this one !!! 5 - I'm useless at suggesting products as I'll end up suggessting a really bad one so I'll leave it at there.... Hope this helps Saf
  4. The above way is the way that I set up mine. However, if you wanted the other computer to be able to print without master comp being on, or if the above way just simply doesn't work for you, then I would recommend you get a wireless print server.just connect the wireless print server to the back of your printer on the mini-usb port and it will connect to your router and will allow printing easily.disadvantages are that they can be a bit expensive.Hope this helpsSaf
  5. I've found that VOIP is really bad compared to home lines. The quality of the line is mostly distorted and it's like you can hear a ghost voice! It's often slow and also the software from most of the providers slows down your computer. It's okay if you use a free voip provider which allows you to ring home phones for free along with some other countries but I wouldn't recommend you to pay for it.Saf
  6. I've had a problem like yours with Linksys products. It's led me to believe that cheap products must be better then them!If you do find a fix or find out the problem then please do post as I still have the Linksys's stashed away in a cupboard somewhere!I tried looking and looked for ages but gave up.It would be nice though to be able to use them...Saf
  7. If you have usb 2.0 then I would think that the best way for you to transfer your files would be through a memory stick or usb ext. hard drive. If it is sensitive data then I wouldn't really recommend you to transfer it by uploading to internet and then downloading it on the other computer. If you don't have a usb disk drive and don't want to buy one then the only way would be to use a direct cable connection such as ethernet.-- If you have a router then you'll just need to normal ethernet cables and it will be easier with a router for configuration purposes. -- If you don't have a router then you will have to use a crossover ethernet cable and not a normal one. This will however be harder then using a router for the configuration purposes. Also if you have Windows then you can only use it with crossover method with XP Pro and NOT XP Home. I tried it and it didn't work and many other people have failed. Hope this post helps you to decide what to doSaf
