  1. I want to make a 3d morpg with rts elements. I thought of using java, and have downloaded dimensionx, but cannot find a free web host that allows java. Does anyone know of any? Alternatively, does anyone know another language or method I could use to accomplish this? The 3d doesn't need to be too advanced, more like neverwinter nights graphics

  2. So far, the best mmorpg I have ever played. Although some parts don't make sense, like there being so many jedi when at this period (post-obiwan death, pre-vader death) there should only be one jedi. but the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is sweet, and there is lots to do. even put bounties on other players for bounty hunters to take up. Personally, I am an ithorian smuggler named Ckivv. The first part of the game is similliar to runescape's tutorial, once you leave you can never come back, but it's much better because there are at least 50 optional quests on this station you are on that you can do, and you must complete a certain ammount before han solo (you only see him at the beginning, don't worry) takes you off and you start the real game. They don't seem to censor as much ar sunescape, and don't seem to have as many idiots, and it seems to have a better death handler than everquest, and it has way way more to do than most any other mmorpg. I suggest you give it a try. You no longer have to buy the disc, because it's downloadable now, just take a long time. They also have a 10 day free trial going on now. shweet!

  3. It looks like a clone of gaia to me. It looks like it's even the same art and everything. are they by the same people? even that little bubble thing looks like that of gaia. which came first? and is it just another noobfest like gaia? (jeez I dislike the gaia community)

  4. I've gotten this idea from a spiderman comic:Suppose we made an apparatus that sealed flesh in the same way bags ate sealed with those little sealite thingies (they look like staplers, but you close them on the bag, they hear up, and you run them across the bag, melting the plastic together). We could have it excrete a substance that temporarily melted to skin like glue, and was soliable to a certain chemical like alcohol so that it could be removed for surgery. These would only be used for emergency care to prevent bleeding to death, and maybe on the battlefield. Good idea?

  5. I used to like runescape quite a bit. The community kinda sucks though. Every once in a while you'll find a really nice and helpful person, but most of them are just little kids that have recently learned the word "noob" and are intent on blurting it out every five minutes to try to sound knowledgeable. Planeshift was cool while it still worked for macs. People hardly spoke on it for some reason, but the ones that did where pretty cool. Everquest was nice but costly and very very slow. The respawning at the hometown became tiresome and it took forever just to make a few gold and to level up. Dofus is cute but also a bit boring, not enough features, but it is on flash so it's impressive enough. Gaia online would seem more appealing to me if I where a little less intelligent, and could get around the spam bombardment and dare I say it; "nerds". I myself am a nerd, but most of gaia's population is just rediculously "OMFG ROFL I WANT TO SEE AERIS NAKID LEMME GOOOOOOGLE!!!!11one" and "I'll take the clothes off of my avatar if you pay me some gold". so it's a shame. too big. I like that there is an increase in the number of amateur rpg's, but I also get jealous as a game programmer >.>

  6. I agree that blockbuster online stold netflix's idea, that is completely blatent and I wish they had gotten the idea patented so that they wouldn't have stolen it. I use blockbuster online because they give you two free rentals from the stores (new, old, or games) each month and because they have a bigger selection. so I don't think they should be shut down, because afterall, that's buisness and one must be ready for their competitors to take their ideas to feed their families.

  7. Nah Vicious, alot of newer RPG's have turn based gameplay implemented in real-time (KOTOR style) or are real time fighting but still an RPG. I assume that's what she is tlaking about. Disliking turn-based RPG's tho rules out pretty much all of the old school classics since all the FF's, chrono trigger, pretty much ever snes rpg and still alot of them are turn based. I can see how that would bug some people, but it adds some interesting play dynamics once you get accustomed to it.

Yea, you're completely right, but most people concider other battle systems to be action adventure. I concider Kingdom Hearts to be an rpg, but many others say it's nothing like one.

  8. Sunshine was very boring and annoying (FLUDD).
In Paper Mario TYD, I really liked the battle style, levels and music. My personal favorite boss is the last one.

The battle style was cool indeed. I liked how there was an audiance all the time. The level with the tournaments and Rawk Hawk was my favourite part. I usually think rpg battle styles are kinda boring but this battle had so many new features to it that it wasw barely even the same thing anymore. I also thought it was funny how things could fall from the roof of the stage and hit you.

  9. I'm not entirely sure if these already exist, and they probably do in some form, but here is my idea:Picture the tecnhology of birtual reality headgear in the form of gloves. the same rotating ball that tracks head movement and relays it, ect, but no visual benifit. Instead, it could be used as a portable wireless keyboard or perhaps a piano simulation or a game conrtoller. I'm sure it exists, but why has it not been related ro video games? has it?

  10. Yo i'm new here...wath can i say? i'm a hardcore gamer and eugm thats it

Welcome to the club. Are you here for hosting or for no good reason? I'd suggest holding out for the 30 credit hosting instead of being impatient and taking the 10 credit one. Just make sure that you make very long posts, read the rules, post every day (even if you don't have to, it helps keep your credits high so you have little risk of losing them) and you'll be fine.

  11. North-American Cientists predicte that Asteroid will collide with earth aproximitly in a centuray. 4th May 2102The colision risk is 1 to 1000.

Well the earth is constantly being bombarded by asteroids that don't burn up in the atmosphere. Impact is what creates the problem for us, not being crushed by the asteroid itself. Scientists also theorize that the only warning of a deadly asteroid could be nothing more than the giant wave of fire, a few sad moments of realization, and then oblivion. On multiple occasions asteroids have gone unpredicted and unnoticed, because think of it this way: take a marbel, put it on the sidewalk on a slightly rainy day, and see if any rain hits it. That's probably about the chances of earth getting hit. It's not very slim. They usually don't even catch these asteroids, and if one the size of texas hits then earth will probably get a chunk taken out from the impact.

  12. Refer to other "intelligent design versus darwinism" post. Basically I think that it's imp-ossible for some being that came from pretty much nowhere to just poof two perfectly generated humans onto earth, and them somehow have the life span to spawn enough children to incestuously populate the planet, and then also be able to survive practically nakid and survive past the animals that where much more vicious than they are now (due to getting used to humans) and somehow able to populate other continents when they had no boats or ships, and somehow learn all of the things we have learned. The bible also says the earth is 4000 years old, but we've proven that to be completely wrong. Saying "humans got here by god's magic" is the same as just not answering the wuestions at all, because out of one question is makes many many more. It just isn't scientific at all. It is the lack of science that created this theory in the first place. If perhaps god made two single celled organisms and they multiplied enough to spawn the planet, then maybe. but most of the bible and most of all other religions are only there to explain things that couldn't have been explained otherwise with the technology available at the time. Now it can be proven wrong, and has been proven wrong, and the only reason people stick to this belief is because they either want the comfort of thinking that there is some failsafe behind life and that science (which most people don't understand well) isn't everything, which in esssence it is, or they are afraid they'll get smote or condemmned or something silly like that for not believing because their parents or surroundings have forced them to have that phobia. Just because that missing link hasn't yet been found, doesn't mean that it just isn't there, it just means we haven't found it yet. For all we know that missing link could have had the intelligence necessary to pay tribute to dead like some mammals do. Elephants scatter the bones of their dead and didn't used to before the increase in poaching, so why can't other mammals other than homosapiens do the same? perhaps those random bones we often find that can't be placed are just that? I don't think that the missing link is still elived, the same way people who say "we didn't evolve from monkies" don't understand that these early mammals where not "monkies" (because if there where there'd be no monkies today) but instead creatures that somewhat resembled them, and that's why there AREN'T and other ones like that now, just fossils. Just because we haven't yet found it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We haven't yet found the arc or jesus's skeleton or any record that this "adam and eve" ever existed, and that doesn't stop people from believing it. Religion seems to have no need tor things like proof, or logic, or reasoning.

  13. I think it would have to be one of the following:-Dark Cloud 2- It's just got all the right things. It's got the good aspects of reality, the world if huge, the monsters aren't too hard, the gadgets are nifty and steam-punk for the most part, the girls are pretty, and so much more.-Paper Mario- It's so cute and peaceful, and the only real problems are things like 'bowser stold the magical mushroom and kidnapped the incompedent princess'-Harvest Moon- It's nice to have simplicity sometimes -Pokemon games- I always liked the idea of cooperating with the pokemon. although I think if the pokemon world was a reality, I probably would feel bad about being a trainer if the pokemon felt the pain of attacks.

  14. I've always hated and will always hate Final Fantasy, because it's 'story' sucks and they use those super giant swords (That's MY opinion, let's not start a war because of this, ok?).Another one that I didn't like was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I. Why? They use swords. Sure, swords are cool and all but they are unuseful agains laser weapons, or, at last, should be. But not only you can use a metal sword against these guys with laser weapons, you also can actually win. If that's not stupid then I don't know what is.

Which final fantasy are you talking about? They all have completely different stories. The final fantasy storyline (that has big swords, so you may be thinking of that) was pretty deep in my opinion. It changed so much. Some like that (I do) and some hate the way it goes from a fight against shinra to a fight to save earth. Have you checked them all out, not just number ? some do have crappy storylines though.

Hmm. I hate watching my siblings play this SNES game called "Breath of Fire." Anyone remember that one? I think the whole concept is dumb. You don't get to just full-out attack the enemy. Instead, you get to pick one attack move, then stand there and do nothing while the enemy counter-attacks, etc...and the guy with the best magic potion or whatever wins.
People like it, obviously, but that sort of gameplay is boring to me.

well that is the battle system of all rog's. heh. Otherwise it would be an action adventure

  15. Which RPG do you hate the most? Not just for graphics, and not just for ending or difficulty, but for all around suckage. Mine would have to be animal crossing. worst EVER! It's like they took all the good qualities from harvest moon, all the good qualities from the sims, and through those good qualities away to form a crappy excuse for a game that I could make out of ascii. sucked so much. Masashi and Tales of Phantasia really sucked too, but they've at least got something to them, while animal crossing has absolutely nothing. So what RPG do YOU hate the most?
