  1. I've tried free domains name before. Their offers are really misleading, coming from metaReward. If you want to complete offers, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is my recommendation. But if you just want to post, go for the previously mentioned http://www.findingresult.com/?dn=hostbidder.com&pid=9POR3TG0A. I'd recommend paying for your domain. It's not that expensive in https://de.godaddy.com/ and there's nothing free that beats paid.
  2. I don't think that report is legitimate. In fact, I don't even think someone can live past 115 years. Studies show, one out of a billion people will live to grow past 110 years. So to me, this is just a made up story. Think about it this way. It is possible that someone will sprout a tooth at age 125. It is not probable that someone will sprout a tooth at age 125.
  3. I'm ashamed to say, but I used to do really stupid things in school. I once sprayed someone with deodorant in the locker room, called a teacher a sucker for not giving me a referral, and various other half-minded things. And sadly, I've got in trouble for every one of them. I mean, every time they'd just call my parents and send me home. They even singled me out from the five hundred other students who get referrals and sent me home and gave me a detention, additionally. First of all, my parents have jobs. If they can't make money, our family won't be able to afford to live in such an economy we have. My parents can't just take off work two or three times a month. Their bosses have limits, if my parents have to continually take off from work, they'll get layed off or fired. All due to some very little things like urinating on the toilet seat. What I really don't like about the education system in America is that if you do some really little thing, the principal adds on to it to make it seem more serious. In fact, when I sprayed someone with deodorant, the counselor told my mom that I urinated on someone! And when my mom couldn't pick me up since her boss didn't let her, the counselor told me to "yell at my mom for not doing so." What kind of heartless people would treat a child worse than an animal? Making half-hearted demands to turn against the most important people to me in my life, just because they can? Let me tell you something, I've missed a lot of assignments that mattered to me. And all because of their unrealistic, ideal expectations that kids should act more maturely than adults. And my mom, in essence, told me to kiss their *bottom* so they wouldn't vent out their anger towards me. In fact, the psychiatrist told my mom that she has to support her child. She has to be my advocate and teach me that what they're doing is wrong. And that I have every right to be upset with them. Let me tell you something I tell many people: I had ADHD. It was a medical condition. This is why I am disgusted by all teachers and their "zero-tolerance." If I see a teacher acting like this and I didn't know better, I'd think, "So this is how all teachers treat their students." Have a thought about that.
  4. Domain names are by the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN: https://www.icann.org/) and the names can be registered through ICANN approved registrars. Once you register a domain, your name, home address and telephone number can be accessed by anyone on the web, unless you protect it through a proxy, showing the proxyhost's information. Most people use this to protect their personal information, but those with bad intentions do so to spam. But my discussion point is, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO: https://www.uspto.gov/) registers trademarks (TM meaning unregistered trademark or [_R_] representing registered trademark ~ it is illegal to use [_R_] if you haven't registered it). You can register a trademark by hiring a lawyer to do so (price may vary, costs around 1000 US dollars) or you can make a website do it (cheaper, around $500). Because there are few domain names that are good (since registrants register them all the time), people on the web known as Cybersquatters see a good domain name that's already a registered trademark, purchase it, and hope to make a lot of money selling that domain name. If that is blatantly the case, then the registrant may be sued for the domain name. Your domain name might infringe upon trademark laws if: - The registered trademark is really popular. - Intentions to grab the name for profits are clear (ex. coca-cola [dot] com). This doesn't apply to more general things like (ex. dictionary_DOT_com). - Other things I can't bother to remember. It is very hard to find a case in suing the registrar. Even if you can, you have to file paperwork, hire a lawyer, bring the dude to a court, and fight and stuff all for a name (something of little value). A more effective approach would be to email the guy and say, "I really don't want to be bothered by the law so I'll stake a purchase for your domain. How about $250? That good enough to bribe you?" Or you can just sell your trademark to the kid. My opinion on this is that everything's just silly. Why bother with trademarks? If someone steals it, then they steal some of your profits. (A Microsoft-labeled computer is worth more than a "Great Quality (GQ)" one.) Why not use Micorsoft? It's all a name, you can't own a name. People nowadays go so far for money, it isn't even funny (hey, rhymes). I'd like to know what you think.
  5. Actually, I have experienced the symptoms. ADHD has gotten me in a lot of trouble at school in the past. And the drugs I'm taking (Concerta) isn't meant to harm you. If you have ADHD, it's meant to help you. My mom was quite concerned about me taking this. But the psychiatrist calmed her down and explained everything to her. I've recently taken my pill and I've never felt better. I can finally think correctly, control my movements, and access my brain to my full potential. However, for some, it can be a down-side.I've heard some horror stories of people hallucinating as a result of Ritalin. And Concerta has a one percent chance of affecting your mood. Some kids cry and stuff after this. But still, if worse comes to worse, the side effects still isn't as bad as those using illegal drugs. I've learned in health class that some people die the first time they use it. And in another that induces hallucination, some people experience the worst time in their life all over again. Surprisingly, illegal drugs aren't "illegal" in different countries. I've heard that if you go to a coffee house pub in Germany, they serve them.Anyway, some doctors overprescribe Ritalin/Concerta. A normal amount of hyperactivity is healthy for some children. But if it reoccurs and you really can't contain your movements, then that's when you need to be tested. Psychologists know what they're doing. It isn't like for every one kid that really needs Ritalin, they assign 10,000 other kid that don't.If you think you have ADHD, my advice is to get tested. It gives you another chance, and an opportunity to change.
  6. Rebates are there rather than them taking off from the original price initially because they won't lose the profits. You have to take the box, send it to the phone company, and then the phone company you have the contract with gives you the rebate. If they take the price off from the beginning, they aren't the ones reaping the profit. That's pretty much the reason behind rebates and cash-back.These companies like Lets Talk are kind of shady, in my opinion. On their site, they have some really good phones with television and music and instant messenger priced, "Too low to show (click here for the price tag)." I mean, too low to show? How about not selling it. Honestly, just display the price or forget about it. Yeesh, what are they thinking? Probably hoping the customer will see an opportunity to score a good deal and buy it. Also, they aren't very clear on their intention for providing free cell phones, leaving some customers thinking in the dark. When I first browsed their page, I originally thought it was like those, "Free iPod" deals. But it really isn't.And no, I haven't gotten my rebates yet. Hoping to soon, maybe.
  7. I just went and changed my cPanel password in the Xisto process page: https://support.xisto.com/ and it turns out, I've could have changed my password for free at the cPanel anyway. So I've just wasted ten perfectly good credits. *Sigh* well, that's life. My advice is, look both ways before crossing. As I could have saved 10 if I had.
  8. Wow, that was a well-thought of and educational article. Good job on completing it. Sorry you got accused of plagiarism. Some people here are like that. I do think it is easier to just post for the credits (you would probably have gotten it faster that way). Anyway, to me the whole theory of Atlantis is unrealistic. So is the Lochness monster. People are, by nature, mystical. I mean, when I was little, I was scared of the Boogeyman (not the wrestler) but that was when I was little. A grown philosopher named Pluto actually took the time to conjure up the theory. That, too me, is pathetic. There's nothing but fish and stuff down the sea. No city could withstand the pressure in the deep anyway to survive. All I see Atlantis of is a great fairytale story, no way it could be real.
  9. I just recently got a Motorola V3 RAZR cell phone from http://www.letstalk.com/. The price tag said, "Free." Let me warn you, it really wasn't free. You have to pay for the phone and then they give you rebates and stuff, which then equals free. But by signing up for a free cell phone from that company, it constitutes agreement in paying for a yearly contract for your cell phone to be able to call people. So I scored a deal, they get paid by the phone distributor, the phone company (mine's T-Mobile) gets the money, everyone wins! One thing though, their customer support isn't that great. Let me rephrase that, it's like America Online. After getting the phones, I ordered Bluetooth and haven't gotten it since. Complaining to the support line didn't help, they just gave me the cold shoulder. Anyway, at least I got a free phone. My service rating is -5/10. However, my overall rating is 7/10. I'm quite generous.
  10. A psychiatrist recommended me to test for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and my mom decided, "Okay, why not?" I've already been to the optometrist, the doctor, taken a physical examination, got a shot, the dentist, etc. Might as well use the break to run some errands. Anyway, the psychologist diagnosed me with ADHD and sent me back to the psychiatrist for her to prescribe me medication. I'm going to take Concerta tomorrow morning.ADHD has two sub-symptoms. Symptoms are usually shown during first, second and third grade. The first is inattentiveness (also known as attention-deficit-disorder: ADD) and the second is hyperactive (Attention-Deficit-Hyperactive-Disorder: ADHD). I have sub-ADHD, I scored very well on the TOVA test. ADHD is mostly due to genetics. However, studies are showing it can be due to eating habits or excessive Internet/television/video game use. The mind of an ADHD-diagnosed person is one minute the kid can control his actions and the next, the dude's mind flashes off and he/she begins to run around doing things without self-control.The treatment for ADHD is both the same, both can be treated with Ritalin or Concerta (what I'm going to take). Ritalin has to be taken twice a day since the effects pike up really high and goes down. However, Concerta is consistent and lasts for eight hours throughout the day. The side effects of Concerta are drowsiness and dizziness. I don't know about Ritalin.Anyway, that's pretty much all I can recall about ADHD.
  11. I had Norton Antivirus Professional Edition a few years ago. Didn't even bother renewing. The reason I don't like Antiviruses is because one, I never use email and two, it doesn't protect you from spyware. Adware, to me, is more intrusive and more irritating than viruses. Plus, spy programs are so easy that I believe even an eight-year-old kid can set up a keylogger. I've tried it, I mean I messed up, but now I know more about it than if I didn't. It's so easy. Just look up Google for a fully-functioning keylogging program, buy it, edit the name, send an email to someone with the logging-attachments and wait until the victim opens it all up. But you have to hide it with a password so they won't know you're spying on them.
  12. A [dot]be name IS, indeed, Belgian. However, some people use it as something one should be. That works better, in my opinion. Good example: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Bad example: quatrux.be However, I don't like the [dot]be name since it isn't very popular and no one ever uses it professionally nowadays. I currently just bought a shootingstarhaven.com and I couldn't be more happier with it. It's so much better than shootingstarhaven.be. Also, you have: http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en DOT tk is a Hawaiian-based registrar that goes by the belief that everything on the web should be free. Now I don't really agree with this concept but lets just look past it. This serves an ad-frame, and it's considerably slow. I mean, really slow. The service isn't that decent too. I registered my domain name with Go Daddy. The price there is quite cheap. They said they included a free website* (apostrophe not added) along with every domain registered. I've had some problems with them (quick blog with ads, service really annoying) but they're not really that bad. I heard their prices are cheap. Bob Parsons, the guy who owns Go Daddy, said his service is $8.95 and Network Solutions is $34.99. That's really cheap, I guess. It's actually $9.20 ($.25 for ICANN). It's been cool with them so far. I'd recommend them over many others. My point is, just don't use a [dot]be domain name. Get your [dot]com like all the normal people do. It's not that expensive anyway, why not?
  13. Quite surprisingly, around five million people here can't read past the eighth grade level. Studies have shown that here. One thing I find that causes that is our traditional relay television watching. Television takes our attention off things. We're most likely doing something else. And also, people that represent themselves on TV are really ignorant, trying to assign blame to others. But nevertheless, english is our primary language. Not understanding "SAT words" still doesn't change that fact. Not really elitist. "L33t sp33k" would imply the annoying use of symbols and numbers and pretending you're better than everyone else. Plus, an elitist board is generally built up of hacker wannabes, which really isn't the case here. I don't see Xisto as elitest, rather just a little bit pretentious. Please don't take offense to this, I don't mean it that way. Grammar is important. People do look to that as a first impression in judging your work. I just meant that grammar shouldn't be the know-all-end-all concept of professionality. There should be more to that too. I don't feel like an outcast here. I kind of like it at Xisto. But I don't think everything should be layed out as a gradual progression. Digressing is a tool that most professional writers will do. Most books do digress. They don't just choose a point and walk with it throughout the novel. Digression sometimes brings good points into a discussion. It takes things people can relate with and overall makes everything more memorable. In fact, the use of humor grasps a lot of attention by your audience. It's a great start to any sentient post. It leads your readers to your thoughts. It expands upon everything. And it can be easily done too. Humor occurs when you connect two unlike things that no one else can believe connectable. Also it might have some truth behind it. See how this article uses humor to make a thoughtful point: about angry asian man: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  14. I am a native english speaker. I live in a place where english is used commonly. I know, common American stereotype (especially from Britain) calls for Americans being really pointy. We even have our own lingo, saying "like" after every two words. But all that doesn't matter. I do agree, english is an art. Except not the art you're thinking. Oftentimes, people here believe that using hard works like aforementioned makes your paper "decent." Granted, this works in college essays but normal people won't understand it. Why can't we just say previously mentioned? And why are our sentences so long? Syntax doesn't make a paper good. Professional really doesn't mean breath-taking. Art breeds emotion. I find that good papers touch on people's hearts. But that's just my opinion.
  15. I honestly don't think grammar or commas matter. Even at the slightest. Some language arts teachers are really strict about this nowadays. Most of them believe that if all the commas aren't in the right place, it means that your paper isn't very good. They don't care about voice, humor, or how moving it is. If you just add some long, flowery words, or if you're spelling is good, they'll think it's a good paper. That annoys me.
  16. So, some other poor guy died from overgaming, again. You always find this kind of stuff happening in Korea. It happens generally once a week there. And no, I'm really not surprised. Games like EverQuest and World of Warcraft are so addicting that people literally give up their lives just to play it. I remember one time long ago, The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask came out and I remember playing it for eight hours without knowing. People who are addicted to things, no matter how bad it gets (family problems, etc.), they don't even know it. They just give up everything, for the game. And as they do, they aren't even content with everything. They stay there miserably replacing game time with sleep, homework, school, family, and everything else that matters. It's not just kids doing it. Check out this article: When games stop being fun: http://news.a.com.com/ A psychologist wanted to find out what in the game was so addicting that he wound up addicted himself. Of course he was smart and deleted the game to save his career. Because these things ruin people. They take away lives. And it'll be sad to think twenty years from now, you've given up everything and are still playing the game. I mean, you go giving up everything, and when asked, "What have you done with your life," you can't just say, "Hey everyone, look. I'm a Level 58 Madrid, the Great Shaman of the North. I'm better than everyone else. And that's all that matters to me." Except there is nobody else. They chose to make something out of their time. The problem with video games nowadays is that you never really get anything done from it.
  17. Microsoft's PaintShopPro is ideal for beginners. I mean, after all, it's incredibally easy to function. But what you get out of it really doesn't fit the designing needs of today's websites. On the other hand, Adobe PhotoShop is common among, well, almost every professional website. It's just really hard to understand, and the tutorials on the Internet aren't really good. So it's harder, but the best things are.
  18. America - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (look for .be) Britain - http://www.freebe.be/ German - https://www.ovh.com/fr/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This is amazing! You can actually get something for free for one year! That's right, free with no jip. But nothing in this world ever is free, isn't it? Most companies do this as a promotional service. The reason it's actually one (1) year is so it will be in hopes that you'll renew it the next year. After all, if you don't, then you lose most of your visitors, since your site members go by the universal resouce locator (URL) of your hypothetical [dot] be domain name. But that's really just it. So yeah. If you want to test out a real domain name for the first time, you can do so. I've tried it, it works. But the .be domain name really isn't that popular, retaining little value. I'd also recommend: http://www.findingresult.com/?dn=hostbidder.com&pid=9POR3TG0A HostBidder is a free domain registrar that goes by posting. Like in Xisto. They can register your .com or .net (etc.) name for you at their own registrar, http://www.hbdomains.com/. I like them, except they really do charge a lot. You need 950 HBpoints from posting in their forums. And with one legitimate post, you can get only 5 points. You can only post ten (10) times a day. Do the math. They also have web hosting, but I really don't recommend going with it. For the smallest package, it's 200 points per two (2) months. I really don't think you can balance both offers and services with your single account. So just go for their domain registration and use Xisto's web hosting. Either way, happy hunting!
  19. I've used ImageShack a while ago for my image hosting needs. But now I don't use it anymore. I mean, yes it is very reliable. Probably one of the best image hosts I've ever come across. But I've come to not trust any image host anymore. You see, no one hosts your images out of the goodness of their heart. They want something out of it. And by far, I've probably hosted a few hundred images on it. I wonder how many everyone else has. The advertisements on ImageShack don't seem enough to suffice all of that. So there's no telling when they're going to just pack up and leave. I wouldn't put it past them if they did now. They're probably going to, once they start losing profits. My advice to you is this: look before crossing. For example, ImageCash. Or free iPods. They're all the same to me.
  20. I've tried writing the application for a hosting account request several times and it doesn't work. After I press submit, it just says, "File Not Acquired!" Is there something wrong? Because I tried the one at Xisto and it still is dysfunctional there.
  21. Oh yeah, I know one! Never let your text blend in with your background. That's a really important tip. Some people don't even consider it. Believe me, this will make or break a signature.
  22. Super Smash Brothers Melee is quite good. But it isn't my favorite. My favorite fighting game is Marvel vs. Capcom. It's an old arcade classic. I remember playing it when I was around 8 in an arcade, button-mashing the controls. Yeah, that was really fun. There are some games that you can never get bored of. This game is still a landmark for me.
  23. In today's music industry, the iPod is the most popular MP3 player. They cost around $200. But the only reason people would shell out that much cash for them is because of the name. People want to join the crowd. They care about having what is "in."And if you don't believe me, just look at the iPod Shuffle. You can't even choose your song with it. And it doesn't even store as many songs as a generic MP3 player you can get with $40.So my point is, if you don't have the funds to buy an iPod, you can settle for any other MP3 player. There's probably no difference between them except the name.
  24. Haha, Sony got caught again!Sony already stole something from the past. The Sony PlayStation 2's DualShock 2 controllers has a built in rumble. Because of that, Sony got sued for stealing the rumble pack Nintendo originally created.I don't like Sony. I have their PS2. Next time, I plan to buy the Nintendo Revolution and leave their PS3 to rot.
  25. Wow, that was ironic! But that was a really well designed signature. I like the gold background. It really matches the holiday. The text matches really well, and the writing has some entertaining features. I love the turkey, though. It's fun how it's cartoon-like and the shotgun adds to that. That's my favorite part. I'd give the signature a 10/10....And I would hunt a turkey with a shotgun.
