  1. Forget all that wireless crap!!!!! I spent a long freakin time trying to fix my friends internet problem.. He lives in a cottage next door to the house that has the wireless router.. We used range expanders, wireless G boost Pre-n routers, and it all boiled down to one little solution that I could kick myself in the *bottom* for not trying before.. Here is your solution.... http://www.netgear.com/products/details/XE102.php Granted, you have to be on the same power grid, you probably are... It's this easy... Get a router, doesn't need to be wireless, and get the wallmount plugs, you plug in one wallmount into the LAN part of your router, and the wallmount plug into a good electrical outlet, Now your whole building, as long as it's on the same power grid is live and ready for high speed LAN... So now, for each PC you have to buy another wallmount plug, just plug into wall, then into ethernet port on your PC, and be completely surprised.. Repeat this for each of your PC's... It's not the least costly thing in the world, they're about $50 a piece, but it's the most reliable solution for getting your building wired.... DO NOT USE ANY OTHER POWERLINE WALLMOUNT< AND DO NOT GET USB VERSION... Make sure you get this model exactly, they are not all created equal.... Hope this helps... I cannot tell you how much it has helped me...
  2. I highly advise learniong how to build your own PC, for Sooooo many reasons... Number 1) It is sooo dogon simple, a $12 book called, "Build your own PC" could save you tons of money.. Number2) Alienware is not a charity, They'll use whatever OEM or good priced hardware at the time, When you build your own, You know what you're getting exactly...! Number 3) IT IS SOOOO much cheaper... For what those ALienware systems go for, I could almost build 2 PC's that have the same specs except better hardware... Case in point, A guy from CODUO tells me he spent $4000,00 on a PC, and it still lags, Probably partly because, they claim this PC is sureproof for gamers... Nope! I know alot of that was on his 23" widescreen, about $1800,00 worth, leaving the system at about $2200,00 of which I could build the same systems for $1200,00 20" monitor included with kick butt altec lansing speakers... Plus, once youve built one PC, you only have little new things to remember when reloading, or building a new one.. No cash to pay for pure sorry tech support, no waiting to have your PC fixed... Invest in your education with PC's, and you will save, and be self sufficient... As far as heating issues, It's unreal for Alienware to be having a problem with this... A prescott pentium4 3.6GHz, is running around 158 degree's farenheit, I'm running severl PC's, a 2.8GHz, 3.2GHz, 3.0GHz, and a 3.6GHz, they're all running at around 158 with programs running, no shutdowns.. It is not the chip that is causeing the problem, the case has 80% to do with heat...PS, please ban the moron above... Thank You....
  3. BF2 was meant to be mainly a multiplayer game.. Singleplayer has always paled... If you want a good singleplayer, get Call of duty, and United offensive expansion.. However, In two months, COD2 will be out... I play both very regularly... BF2 certainly is an awesome game, but even the MP needs to be a bit more polished... As usual with EA, they are working on an expnasion for BF2 before BF2 is actually functioning.. This has always been my beef with EA... However, I have friends that work at EA in redwood city cal, I was a beta tester, and joined them on the USS hornet party for BF1942.. I have footage of it still, it was AWESOME... Also, those of you that are having problems with BF2 crashing, Make sure you have directX 9.0c, and experiment with your video drivers eg. ATI, Nvidia.... IF you do not know what card you have.. Right click on your desktop, go to "Properties", then "Settings" tab, and in the dialog box named, "Display" it should tell you what brand and model card you're running, Update and or experiment with the drivers.. Try the latest first...
  4. My god sarah!!!! You're my soulmate!! CHILI-MAC?? You must be a texas schoolgirl... We we're soooo freakin poor, chili-mac was ALWAYS on the menu.. Maybe it's a texas charachterisitc we carried with us when we moved to california... I was born in Houston at Ben Taub, moved to cali when I was 10, moved back to Corpus when I was 15, moved back to cali when I was 20.. Back and forth, back and forth... Anyways, Chilimac..LoL Sorry didn't mean to forget about ya fusion, welcome.. I'm new also, But when I heard Chili-mac, It brought back horrible memories of living off that stuff.. It was the top ramen student food...LoL
  5. I'm new here, but my name isn't... I've been STEELHED on virtually every online tactical shooter game, every musicians forum, cakewalk, northernsounds, every other forum, Well, to make a long story short, If if you ever see the name STEELHED on a forum anywhere, it's me.... I did a search and actually found misspelled versions of a steelhead, But I am the one and only STEELHED... Anyways, I am an avid metal guitarist, and classical composer, movie score musician... I'm a big time gamer, I currently play Call of duty united offensive online, and BF2 online.. I'm big on forums, it's where I get most of my questions answered, I'm registered at basically all the forums pertaining to the products I own, and I frequent them all.. I hope I can be of any assistance here as my knowledge is fairly extensive, and in turn be able to host a video short once in a while.. Right now I'm doing a video intro for a CODUO clan, and I'm doing the music for a battlefield2 mod called warfront... Anyways, thats me in a nutshell..
