  1. http://www.nobodyhere.com/justme/me.here This is definitely one of the craziest sites out there that doesn't need nudity or gross acts. Just look through some of the pages on it...
  2. For a larger group of people dealing with the same router and same problems head over to http://www.dslreports.com/forum/dlink and sign up. There's been a fair share of D-Link headaches going around from the router's tendency to reboot under certain conditions (that aren't always diagnoseable). In some cases a new power supply fixes the problem if the case the voltage wasn't quite high enough. Other people have found fixes entirely from firmware upgrades. One of the great things about this forum is that members from other nations generally post new beta firmware versions before they become publically available in the US. Also there is something called the "Crash Recovery Method" you can learn more about there. It's basically like giving your router a lobotomy before flashing the new firmware... I hope you can get your problem fixed so you don't have to junk and otherwise nice piece of electronics.
  3. I've been using the free version of WS_FTP (WS_FTP95 LE) for years now. I've never had any issues with it. I never even bothered to try any other out because it always did what I needed it to. If there is a good reason to try something else that can be had for free I might give it a shot but otherwise I'm sticking with what I know for a long time yet.
  4. I have a Xanga, Livejournal, and a Myspace account. The journals on all three are exactly the same with the exception of the Xanga one going further back because I've had it longer. Even the friends I do have on my lists barely ever comment on my entries so what does it matter if random people want to read it? It's not like anyone bothers to contact me based on my journal... Xanga and Livejournal both serve their purposes to me as far as being a place to post what I would post anyway and the friends that use those respective sites can see such. Myspace is a lot more than just a page for a journal and I often direct people into it instead of having to retype and explain certain things. If somebody asks you what music you listen to just give them the link and tell them to look through your list. Also you can have ten pictures loaded so if you aren't the type to use a personal photo as an avatar you can have whatever you want and still have a decent range of other photos in case someone wants to get an idea of what you look like. We all know how many people we've seen on any of these sites with a heavily photoshopped avatar that makes them look attractive when in fact they are far from it. There is even that "The Truth of Myspace" picture floating around the net that explains what all the different 'artistic' photo styles on Myspace really mean about the person. In the end I think it depends on your intentions with your page. For getting to drop a linen with your favorite bands now and then Myspace is priceless. It's the next best thing to a band's personal forum where the members actually contribute.
  5. 5mb/2mb for $49.95(?). I actually only get about 1.2-1.5mb upload though. Still it's pretty sweet compared to most ISPs around here. Sometime soon we should be able to switch to Verizon's FiOS which has a 5mb/2mb package for $39.95 and the upload is more like 1.8mb. FiOS also has the great benefit of improving those ping times for your favorite multiplayer games. Oh and we supposedly have a cap but I never receive a letter no matter how far over it I go. I guess it's not really enforced.
  6. I have an ollld desktop I could connect for storage but there is really no point at the moment.
  7. This site doesn't have games but it's got shrines for all the coolest RPGs ever. http://www.rpgclassics.com/ I go there whenever I fire up a ROM of an old console game and try my luck finding every last beastie and item out there.
  8. What about that annoying 30 second recording limit in Windows Sound Recorder?! It would actually be a useful program if it were't for that. Instead I have to use Audicity or another program when I want to record something.
  9. All your CSS code goes into the About Me: section ABOVE anything you type there. For an example here is the code I am currently working on for my profile: <style type="text/css">table, table, td {background-color:CCCCCC;}table, td {background-color:444444;border:solid;border-width:1;border-color:6E0000;color:FFFFFF;}p, span, li, strong, div{color:FFFFFF;}body {background-color:333333;}.btext {color:B90000;}.blacktext12 {color:444444;}.lightbluetext8 {color:FFFFFF;}.nametext {color:B90000;}.orangetext15 {color:B90000;}.redbtext {color:FFFFFF;}.text {color:FFFFFF;}.whitetext12 {color:B90000;}a:link {color:0033FF;}a:visited {color:353fff;}</style> This changes the background to a dark grey with dark red borders around all the tables. The main portion of the text is white with some of the headings bright red. The colors of links are changed to a brighter blue than the default to make them show up better. For more help go to the Myspace Forum titled Myspace -> Customizing. I forgot to add that although all your CSS goes in the About Me: section you can still use HTML tags to change individual elements in the other sections of your profile. For instance <B>bold</B> to make it bold, <I>italic</I>, etc.
  10. Whoah after getting 175 in Astroids everything else on my screen looked twice as big in comparison! I wouldn't recommend playing these games for long as it might strain your eyes too much if you wear glasses like me.
  11. Was it just me or did one of the icons survive in the lower right corner? Oh and I figured out the Diablo icon would win halfway through it.
  12. http://ww31.empornium.us/admin/ is my favorite private tracker. The other one I frequent is Dimeadozen.org for legal bootlegs of concerts I have missed. I don't use BitTorrent much for anything other than these two sites.
  13. I'm a regular at Myspace too. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I find most of the people there to be incredibly annoying but if you do a good job of filtering your "friends" to people you already know or that can get along with well in an online chat you should be fine. The biggest issue is relentless pointless bulletin posts that steal thirty seconds of your life and never give it back.
