  1. I like windows media player, but I find myself having to use all the different players whenever I get online media. I listen to all my music on windows media player, but videos I have to watch in whatever format they are in. I really wish they would all stick to one thing, rater than making me go out and download 5 different programs.
  2. I use my computer to record music stuff. A big problem with my production qulaity is that there is a slight buzzing with the mic input. I have narrowed it down to being the input on the computer. I use a AUDIX OM 2 mic and I have to use a 1/8 inch adaptor to connect the mic wire to the computer. I use the same microphone and cable when I perform and it doesnt give me that problem on amps, and I have tried switching out the adaptor. So Im thinking the solution would be to change out the input, but I dont really know what to buy. How exaclty would I go about changing out a mic input? Do I have to buy a whole new soundcard?
  3. I dont see the point of having so many search engines. With powerhouses like Google, most of the others seem like a waste of time. Unless the other can offer something Google doesnt, I cant really find a use for them. Plus Google is just easy to type into your address bar.
  4. MP3.com went down the drain when they dumped thousands of independent artists they used to host. Now it is a complete wast of space. As for this google thing, its pretty cool. I think the primary use for it would be to find commercial music. If it where an independent artist, im sure you would already know where their website is to get their music. I am pretty tempted to use this to find a few john coltrane songs to fill in the gaps in my collection.
  5. I wouldnt be surprised. Peoples entire lives sometimes revolve around computers. Someday they are going to screw the wrong person, and that person will go on a shooting rampage. If they are going to make any improvments to computers, it should be to make a computer that tells you jokes while its in the proccess of doing something that will piss you off. I really wont be happy with computers untill they reach the level of the computers in star trek.
  6. I wasnt really impressed with FF7. I didnt play it untill recently, and I didnt care for it much. I keep hearing about how the story is great. If I want a good story I will watch a movie, not play a game. I play games for gameplay, and the gameplay of FF7 just didnt hook me. I felt more involved when I played Pokemon than I did with ff7.
  7. Im interested in this game, but I think it strays a little too far from classic RTS games, for mu tastes. Gamespot said something about not having lots of peasants running back and forth. Im just not sure if I would feel comfortable with the changes in playing style from the starcraft and warcraft that I am used to.
  8. The gameboy version is the best. I play that whenever im in the bathroom. I dont like how they took a simple idea like Tetris, then made like 20 new version of it. They should have stoped after the first one.
  9. I used to play this game all the time with my friends. License to Kill/ pistols was the best setup for intense gameplay.I remember spending a forever trying to unlock invinsibility.
  10. This shouldnt even be up to debate. Mozilla Firefox hands down. Internet Explorer will kill your computer. Back when I was using it, I had to do a system restore every few weeks. Its just really crap at blocking out spyware and adware. I started using Firefox, and I nolonger have problems with spyware and adware. I would recomend Firefox aboce any other browser.
  11. I asume you mean CakeWalk Sonar 4. What exactly do you need help with? I use CakeWalk Homestudio, but I know some people who use Cakewalk Sonar. Your best bet is to just read the instructions and keep plaing around with it. Or you could check out their support forums at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  12. It depends on the program, Im guessing. A lot of software I use requires you register your product with them before you can access their upgrades and stuff. If you insist on stealing software, I suppose it would be possible to wait for the latest verion of the software to come out, and get a pirated version of that.
  13. I really dont see why anyone would need so much email storage space. Filling up 1 gig with text files takes so long, you might as well have unlimited space. As for Hotmail, it took a bad hit when it got cracked a while back, allowing anyone to find out anyone elses password.
  14. Most of my experience is with midi sequencing and soundfonts. I usually use NoteWorthy composer to write out music in staff form, then render it to midi. Then I use FL Studio to apply the use of Sound Fonts. Most people I know who use FL Studio just do all the midi sequencing right in the program, but I like to be able to see it in staff form. I then use FL Studio to do all the mixing, panning, EQing, and stuff. Then I render to mp3 or wave. It can also import waves, so you can have sequenced material mixed with live recordings.
  15. I have GoldWave, I believe its a free downloadable program. But I hear Cool Edit is good. Really I mostly use CakeWalk Home Studio for most of my audio editing, but I only have that because I use it for recording stuff when I write music. I like it better, but its pretty expensive, so I would stick to the free or cheaper programs.
