  1. I just uploaded vBulletin to my server and I've launched the install script. On Step 2 I receive this error:Attempting to attach to databaseConnect failed: unexpected error from the database.Error number: 1044Error description: Access denied for user: 'artluo10@localhost' to database 'mamb1'Please ensure that the database and server is correctly configured and try again. What is wrong here?
  2. Wait.. I just realized it's not a 5200, it's a 2200..What the heck is a 2200?
  3. Whoa matrox.. I thought that company went out of business a long time AGO. The last time I heard about that company was when I first began opening one of my first computers which was a compaq and it had a matrox PCI card in it. Sorry to break it to you dude but the GeForce 2200 sucks man, that is like ancient artifacts there compared to like the new X800 XTPE's and the 6800 Ultra's. I mean I think a Geforce 5900 is arond 100 bucks these days. The reason why the games texture is crap because your video card is too slow to load it. Sorry to say that man. It happened on my cousins computer and he has a Radeon 9000 pro. Send that 5200 back man, it's not worth it and you got ripped off. The 256Mb ram doesn't do anything, since your video card is probalby going to use only 128Mb, trust me that 5200 is not going to run full 256Mb ram, you won't see any difference, just trust me. Return that 5200 because you got ripped off for it. This card http://www.newegg.com/Common/MessagePage.aspx?MsgCode=-1&ID=35 is much better than that geforce. It will be a MUCH MUCH MUCH far more better gaming experience for you and you will see the difference, trust me.
  4. I think Myspace is awesome at meeting new people, making new friends, even date people near you. You can meet up with old friends because they have an option that you can add your school, and other people that went to that school or goes to that school and be in there, so you can meet up with your old friends and all. I think it's pretty cool. Sometimes I go on when I'm bored but like I hardly check mine. You can join groups and everything, so it's kind of like a huge community. One bad thing about Myspace is that it gets VERY VERY slow during peak hours and it takes forever to load up but I think there is probably more good things than bad. Anyway good luck on making your Myspace friends haha.
  5. Nice nice man, what kind of ddr ram did you get??Those corsair low latency ones are freakin fast
  6. Look at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ think that they have the cheapest prices online. They have everything that you need to build a computer or upgrade you computer. Check out that site.
  7. I think it's either a DVI or VGA port. DVI is short for Digital Visual Interface, a digital interface standard created by the Digital Display Working Group to convert analog signals into digital signals to accommodate both analog and digital monitors. Data is transmitted using the transition minimized differential signaling (TMDS) protocol, providing a digital signal from the PC's graphics subsystem to the display. The standard specifies a single plug and connector that encompass both the new digital and legacy VGA interfaces, as well as a digital-only plug connector. DVI handles bandwidths in excess of 160 MHz and thus supports UXGA and HDTV with a single set of links. Higher resolutions can be supported with a dual set of links. This is the much newer ones. VGA is an abbreviation of video graphics array, a graphics display system for PCs developed by IBM. VGA has become one of the de facto standards for PCs. In text mode, VGA systems provide a resolution of 720 by 400 pixels. In graphics mode, the resolution is either 640 by 480 (with 16 colors) or 320 by 200 (with 256 colors). The total palette of colors is 262,144. A DVI port looks like this : http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20010627/dvi.jpg It is digital A VGA port looks like this : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It is analog
  8. Of course laptop 3, thats the most obvious dude. Laptops make pretty good laptops, well IMO. Since all of them have 15.4" widescreen which is good so I'm ont going to go into that. The Sempron and Celeron is crap man. Sempron I believe is worse than Athlon XP-M I think. Well Pentium, thats a winner. It has a Radeon 9700 which is by far the best one out of those 3. The other two are integrated, which is BAD for games, okay for movies. Go for 3, you won't be sorry. Trust me.
  9. Yeah Cat6 isn't that trustworthy and it's not recommended for homeusers. Also it's not called a LAN cable, it's technically called a Ethernet cable lol. Gigabit networks are really for big enterprises, and it really depends on what you want to do, if you want to just surf the net with a couple of computers and a router, then you don't really need a gigabit network in your home, unless you like transfering big files between computers. For me, I use a gigabit network in my house because I transfer huge files between my computers in my house and also my HTPC, such as movies and such. I've set up a 100mbps network in my nephews house because thats good enough since all he do is just surf the net and chat.
  10. Well to not get sued while using these programs, the only way is to turn off sharing. Thats what I do and I don't have to worry about the RIAA trying to sue me. Thats all you have to do, just turn off sharing. If you want more protection, look up PeerGuardian, I also use that when I'm downloading off of BitTorrent (BitTorrent is the best =D). Also look up Protowall that is also a good program. I use both. For P2P, I use Limewire Pro, IMO I think that is one of the, if not the best P2P program out there. It has no spyware at all. iMesh, Kazza and all of them out there are all infected with adware and crap, I just don't have the time to deal with that. Also Limewire Pro is the fastest, much more faster than Kazza, iMesh and them, trust me on this one.
  11. After I installed phpMyAdmin and tried logging in with the root password, I get this :#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL clientI already installed mySQL administrator and enabled old passwords. Any help would be appreciated.Oh yeah I have :mySQL version 4.1.11-ntmySQL client 5.04Apache 2.0.54PHP 4.3.11phpMyAdmin 2.6.1-pl3
  12. I like using SpySweeper, Spy Blaster, Ad-Aware, and Spyblaster. Norton sometimes remove adware also.
  13. I think dual booting is the way to go. I mean it's much faster and better than VMWare. I don't know, I just had bad experiences using VMWare. If you have a fast computer and a lot of hardrive space and ram then I guess you can do VMWare. I guess it wasn't fast enough for my needs.
  14. I like using winamp or itunes to edit my tags. I'm pretty sure there are better ones out there but winamp and itunes are pretty easy to use so you should be fine.
  15. I think Mandriva 2005 LE and Suse 9.3 are the best for now because of friendly user interface. I currently use Mandriva and I think it's great.
  16. oh yeahh i forgotthanksis there any instructions on how?
  17. Notice from vujsa: Moved the topic here to get more interest in the topic. Should get more replies this way. my site : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I'm building this site for my Church's fellowship and I am wondering if I can edit this template and put in my own or create my own. I don't like the current templates and the other templates out there don't look good. Thanks.
  18. Does anyone know how to install PHPNUKE on Xisto.com ?? I've uploaded and crap but I don't know what to do from there. Is there a faster way such as a script or something?? Anyone have like instructions to install it specifically on Xisto?
  19. During maybe in the last few weeks I've became interested in digital photography. I've been looking at reviews and what really caught my eye was the Canon Rebel ( I think that's the name ) . Anyway is this a good camera? Can you point out some links for good digital photography cameras? I'm a beginner at this but I don't want some of those cameras for the true beginners. I have some expirience with digital photography. Thanks. I appreciate it a lot.
  20. I think the 6800GT will do, it's great. You can overclock it right out of the box to either the 6800Ultra ($400+ card) or maybe even higher with the right cooling. The link below is a great card for the money if you have the money to spend. http://www.newegg.com/Common/MessagePage.aspx?MsgCode=-1&ID=83
  21. Well I remember once somebody told me that we have been sending signals into space for a long time now and we haven't received a signal back. Even though there are aliens, by the time they receive our signals from earth, man kind itself will be extinct.
  22. I like to use my laptop most of the time and just connect it to my monitor and keyboard/mouse/speakers when I need to. Since my laptop screen is big enough I can deal with it. My laptop can do anything my desktop can do except maybe the sound isn't better. Sometimes it's good to have a desktop lying around because it's expandable and it is easily to switch hardware in and out such as hardrives, video cards and other stuff.
  23. yeah probably something wrong with the DNS. i think that you should check the internet options > connection, see if you adjusted anytrhing before and switch back.
  24. jonypawks i agree that's one way and the other is to partition a part of the drive ( if the drive is large enought for multiple os's ) . but anyway as for the mac emulation, don't try it, it's very slow unless you have a super-duper fast computer with like 6 gigs of ram. I tried it with mac os x last time and it was soo freakin' laggy.
  25. yeah I usually use emp3finder.com---i usually use this more often though. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ pro is the best.sorry for going off topic there.
