20 Network Connection Icon Appear On Task Tray
Sadas replied to jedipi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
First of all, I would suggest you to go into "Network Connections", and see, what you've got there. There should be only ONE icon, something like "Local Area Connection".Next, you can try to uninstall the network card from your device list. Then put in your motherboard's CD into your CD-ROM drive, and install the Network drivers again. But most likely, Win Xp will do the driver installlation itself.Next, make sure your IP settings are correct, so you can connect to the network.Waiting for news... -
Man Dies From Playing World Of Warcraft Gaming? Harmful?
Sadas replied to half1405241509's topic in Science and Technology
Wow is very interesting game. A game without an end. And sometimes it's possible to forget about the real world, real time, real feelings, like starving, drowse etc, because of "living" in the 3D world.I can explain this with myself: sometimes, when I am home alone and play video games (online), for example Counter-strike, I find my self very interested in the game, what makes me forget to eat dinner. And about sleeping. I just don't want to sleep when I play games. But when I'm doing homework in late evening, I feel very sleepy..., until I switch on my computer....Lol this is crazy, the computer really makes people forget about sleeping, eating and the stream of time!My advice would be: put a big clock in front of your monitor, and go to eat, when the time comes! And about WoW - they could force palyers to take a 1 hour brake, after playing, for example for 5 hours. Or something.... I dunno.... Koreans are crazy -
Building A Budget Gaming Pc how would you build a gaming pc?
Sadas replied to discharges's topic in Software
Hi there discharges. I think I say hello to you for the first time. So you want to buy a computer about $1500? OK I'll give you my opinion and some advices, becouse you "hit" same price range as me... ===== PROCESSOR===== First of all we have to decide what processor we are going to use. From that depends motherboard type and CPU slot. So Intel or AMD? I would choose AMD if talking about computer for gaming. Why? Becouse AMD is faster (in most cases - I'm not going to do detailed analysis) and cheaper. I'm not against Intel, actually I have never had another processor but Celeron... So we choose AMD. Now what processor? What speed? The answer we will get right away after we choose the amount of money for that CPU. Let's say 250-300$. I would choose some CPU from Winchester family, becouse Venice and San Diego are still quite expensive, and I'm not even talking about doubled Toledo and Manchester processors... (If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here to see AMD processors chart). So my sugestion is 2.2GHz Athlon 64 3500+ with 512KB cache, 90nm and price from $266. =====MOTHERBOARD===== Now after choosing CPU we need to choose the motherboard. The main thing I would care about is fast and full of functions chipset and newest technologies support. So double PCI-Express with SLI support gets in our sight. Lets list here some motherboards for the Athlon 64 from the best brands: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe from $160 DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR from $172 Epox EP-9NPA+ SLI from $147 Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI from $150 I would choose Asus or DFI. The other two are good too. DFI: it's best for gaming, but it looks to good to put in a simple and cheap case (which will cost of course). And it's the most expensive. but $12 isn't much when buying a new computer. =====RAM===== I suggest two 512MB 400MHz DDRs for dual data processing. I would choose Corsair, but there are more good brands of RAM, like Viking, Mushkin, Kingston and others... Here is my pick: Corsair TWINX10243200XL 1GB PC3200 DDR Memory from $175 With EXTREMELY low latency! 2-2-2-5 =====VIDEO CARD===== A quick answer for this issue: nForce 4 chipset in our motherboard means that we have to choose nVidia. And with SLI support, of course... Gaming performande depends on GPU the most. RAM and CPU go to the second place. So for gaming PC the most important is to have the newest card available. The newest today is 7800GTX. It's really expensive but I think she is worth the price. I found for of them in newegg. The price is from $599. After some time if performance will get not acceptable for gaming in high graphics, there is an option to connect another 7800GTX via SLI. =====HARD DRIVE===== I would suggest Serial ATA. Forget IDE. It's old. Capacity depends only from your needs. But I think that 200GB should be enought. Check it out =1:394/popup3[]=5:144/sortby=priceA/popup1[]=45:393/popup5[]=3:380]here for some HDDs. The brand is not such important (WD, Seagate, Maxtor - all of them are good). The price from $94 =====SOUND===== Sound card for gaming is not that important as good video card. Motherboads with integrated 7.1 audio provides quite high quality sounds. I suggest first try out the integrated sound, and then, if you don't like it, buy a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 or even Audigy 4. =====Mouse===== Yes! the mouse is very important too! I would choose Logitech best gaming mouse up to date: Logitech® MX™518 Gaming-Grade™ Optical Mouse from $37 =====OTHER COMPONENTS===== All the parts I have suggested are worth <$1350. The case is not important at all. It is only the matter of beauty: nice case cost more, but doesn't deliver more performance. Same with other parts, not affecting performance: monitor, DVD drive, keyboard... If you think that the price is to big, then choose older video card (but better with SLI) and slower (and cheapier) RAM. For cooling will be enought stock coolers I think, becouse we're building cheap and fast PC. Good luck buying your new PC. I hope my advices will be usefull. Sadas -
That man is insane What he is going to do with that monster? If compared with my PC... Eh nevermind... :lol:I'm wondering how much time it will take to deliver such performance to standart PCs. I mean with single GPU and single CPU. And without 16GB RAM...Anyway, 16GB RAM does not deliver hight performance boost in gaming. I think that fps in Doom 3 would be almost same with 512 or 1024Mb RAM, or maybe even better, becouse of faster timings...Of course for tons of server aplications more RAM is better.

You said slave disc? So that means there are another HDD on your system? If so then remove master HDD and leave only slave HDD in your system. And set it as master of course. Then try formating and creating partittions in all ways you know. First of all try Windows XP CD. If it doesn't work, try Win98 floppy disc FORMAT and FDISC tools.Hope this helps... Keep us updated about your problem

I think Norton PartitonMagic 8.0 could have done the job without problems I use it when resizing, moving, deleting, formating or doing some other actions with my partitions. Really good tool.

Three-State System Failed attempt to create 3 state system.
Sadas replied to infamousflame's topic in Hardware Workshop
For simple people like me and most of you it's more than enought 2 states computers.3, 4 or even 64 states systems coulb be usefull in science, like space explorering. If 64 states computers will ever come to life, they will not fit in room I think (again )We'll see what will happen with computers when we'll get old. Maybe virtual reality will aproach to true reality and there woun't be any differences... We'll see. Ok back on topic :(So any ideas how to use 64 states!? -
I agree that San Andreas in not a brand new game. It's build on Vice City (which was built on GTA III). But new features, like swimming, stats, fashion and etc. (haven't discovered everything jet) makes the game interesting again :(I'm not biggest fan of GTA, what means I din't complete GTA, GTA II and I didn't complete GTA III, GTA Vice City on 100%, but still I was waiting for San Andreas. And now I'm having fun playing few hours a day. I agree that seeking to complete game on 100% might be like homeworks, but why do that if it's not a must? And why not use walktrouhts, if the game becames to hard (for example when 98 of 100 secret packages are found, the last 2 could be anywhere, and finding them withuot help is quite borring, when efforts are worthless for 5 or 6 hours). One thing I dont like in GTA are vehicles. Why don't they buy patents from cars brands... It would be much more interesting driving a BMW instead of Sentinel or chasing an old Shelby instead of Sabre. Maybe in future they'll fix that... I hope...

And what about ConterSpy 1.0? PC Magazine says that it's the best antispyware today. So I downloaded, installed and found it to be really good. CounterSpy found 150+ spyware in my computer. Before I was using Spybot Search&Destroy. It's also a good tool but like everyone know that free software just can't be good for a long time. CounterSpy is godd but free. Link to free evaluation version download page is here. Try it out and say what do you think...

I have used Norton Systemworks from 2000 to 2005 versions. I had only minimum performance differences when Norton was installed and when was not...Now my PC runs Norton Internet Security 2005. And it's fine. No lag no slow down.So maybe the problem is with other programs preferences and options. Maybe more than one firewall is turned on or something...P.S I always keep my Windows XP an Norton up to date, what means I use SP2 with Norton Internet security firewall.

I'm using Norton Internet security and I'm having no problems with it. Maybe Norton slows down PC, but I can't say so... Norton works perfect with my Celeron 2.4GHz. Maybe becouse of 512Mb RAM

Farcry Is The Greatest Fps Ever! hands down the sweetest
Sadas replied to Darren0330's topic in Computer Gaming
FarCry is really interesting game. It has perfect graphics and runs quite well on my Celeron 2.4GHz.I like the water, the trees very much. Scenario is good too. One more thing: enemies are smart, what makes game even more interesting. I like when they go and hide, call for backup, try to surround me etc.Difficulty is tought. I'be completed the game on normal level, and I must to say, that it wasn't so easy (my aim is good, becouse I play Counter Strike a lot). So if FarCry would be my first FPS I played, I wouldn't complete the game at all :DRating would be 9 of 10... -
Hell no! My eyes starts to hurt when watching TV for few hours. Yes, yes I agree, I could solve the problem buyng new 100Hz TV.But then begins other problems. Some months ago I've played Unreal Tournament Championship 2004 on a X-Box. It was terrible... Why? Becouse controller is not for first person shooting games... If I've had a mouse, I hadn't died a single time. For me there are no better choise than PC for gaming

Yes, there are motherboards, supporting SLI. Actually, every motherboard with NVIDIA nForce4 SLI chipset can support these "monsters", better or worse. If you're going to build latest tech system, I advise you to use ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard as a platform. It's simply best for today. It supports all power needs for SLI technology. The power, neede for SLI system is about 500-800W depending on other configuration. There are more motherboards, not only ASUS Check it out here for more info about buildin SLI system.

512Mb is more a value to tell your firends, not a double performance. I think that 512 might be faster up to 5% than 256, not more. So my suggestion: get GeForce 6800 ULTRA SLI supported card with 256Mb memory + get ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (the best choice today) Here are the links from newegg.com: ASUS EN6800Ultra - $470 MSI NX6800Ultra-T2D256E - $525 A8N-SLI Deluxe - $175 Later, if you'll find your video card too slow, buy another ASUS EN6800Ultra (it will be much more cheaper) and make SLI system. So it's up to you to decide. Don't buy ASUS EN6800Ultra or MSI NX6800Ultra-T2D256E if you don't want, find cheaper one, but ASUS and MSI are good brands and worth the money. Just be sure what you're buying: main and most important settings for 6800 ULTRA: Core clock 400MHz Memory Clock 1100MHz OpenGL OpenGL 2.0 (be aware of OpenGL 1.5, which is also available on 6800 ULTRA...) Memory Interface: 256-bit PixelPipelines: 16 SLI support (not every card has it!) Hope you'll find something usefull Good luck! Sadas

Online Dating Sites Do you use them?
Sadas replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
There are some sites where people from my country can look for a friend, sex partner or somebody else. Once I was surfing such site and saw nice girl. I decided to write her some words, but I wasn't registered. So I did everything as needed and wrote her a message. But she didn't answer lol From that time I don't use such dating sites anymore. It takes much time and online dating is kind of "blind", becouse at the other side of screen could be not a gir, but 50+ woman, playing with young people :)But maybe some day I'll try this once more... -
Nothing bad happens to GPU when overclocked. When the heat is too big, PC simply shuts down. I was playing with my GeForce FX5600XT card. I increased GPU from 234 to 350MHz. And gues what - better performance + dead cooling fan (after about two mounths, but it was generating trange sounds looong ago...).Now my PC is runnig without GPU fan at 50MHz, what means playing games no more. I'm lazy to go to a shop and get new fan for my GF :)Overclocking the memory was not as sucessfull as GPU. Original speed is 400MHz. Max setting I could reach was 410MHz - at higher rates the card simply refuses to work... So I left 400Mhz.P.S. my video cards manufacturer is Sparkle - company from Taiwan, producing cheap computers parts. That's why my fan died so quickly I think. With more seriuos video cards from best manufacturers (for example MSI, Asus) that shouldn't happen...

For my - PC only... It's definitely the best choise to play games with. It's possible to plug in any controler you like without much problems. Consoles have no advantages versus PC, except size, mobility and ability to play without installing game (also drivers, OS, other software). So it's for those, who don't want to spend time updating drivers, and keeping PC running smooth.About graphics. PC rules of course. Well, Xbox has good graphics too, but my PC's monitor runs twice as high ressolution as TV.PC is the best, the most customizeable, the most modern and the most ... expensive of course

Well, it looks nice. Good job. You could add some 3D effects, it would be nice. And try to make these screws bigger, to make your website look like strongly fixed to the wall You could add some borders in the top part of your template, becouse now it looks like a sheet o paper, it would be nice to make it "thickier", I mean add some 3D...GoodLuck :(Sadas.

First time I've got a computer, I realised that the real world is not interesting for me anymore. I played games, used variuos programs, like photoshop, word, excel just for fun, like a little chicd a toy. After few years, when my computer became old and I couldn't play newer games anymore, I found it to be boring for me...BUT when I've got my first Internet connection (it was shared with 4 other people in LAN), I realised, that computer maniac (it was me ) was back. Internet has no limits, and I played with it at first. I enjoyed entering random URLs in address bar and seeing a web page opening After that, I found mIRC somehow. And Counter-Strike too :)It was old 1.5 version, worked laggy on my PC... Anyway, many sleepless nights were waiting for me again...When internet wasn't working or just got borried, I played with my firends in LAN. we tried out almost everything: shooting, strategy, racing, arcade, etc. But my computer was old at that time and it got borried again. Then I've got new computer, whick could run every game (maybe not at best graphics, but all the games were working perfectly). The most of my time I was spending playing Counter-Strike, becouse it worked at 100fps (with old one PC only 10-20fps - tragedy...).About a month ago I stopped playing CS, becouse it was taking too much time from me, and I began to live in other, 3D world. So I'm back to the real one. No more gaming, just working: learning scripting, programing, earning money online, etc.Now I could live without computer, but why should I do so? Computer is not forbiden

How To Check Email Adress And Name Validity? Refusing wrong info in a form...
Sadas replied to Sadas's topic in Programming
OK, let's try to develope valid email input into MySQL database script then. We should begin with writing function to validate email. Let's look at your array of matches: /^[a-z][a-z0-9_.-]+@[a-z0-9][a-z0-9-]+\.[a-z]+(\.[a-z]+)*$/iWhat about email adress with IP instead of domain, something like this: john@87.243.154.12 Would your code allow it? I found here some big script with explanation, so we could use some ideas from it... But I think the best way would be simply to check two main things: if email has "@" and at least one "." and then send confirmation email with some code to confirm. Entry would be added to MySQL only then, when confirmation code would be received. I'm suggesting that becouse we don't know if there are email adresses breaking the rules of RFC 2822. More of that, with IPv6 it's possible to have IPs like this: 2014:5107:45c7:d::a05:66 I wonder can it be used instead domain or not... email adress would be really strange: john@2014:5107:45c7:d::a05:66 (how about validating that? ) So what do you think? -

How To Check Email Adress And Name Validity? Refusing wrong info in a form...
Sadas replied to Sadas's topic in Programming
Yeah, I know that... I should make tha script to look for something like this: XX@XX.XX X means a letter or a number There may be no more than one "@", but can be more than one "." Difficult... Or maybe there are some webpage providing such services. I'm wondering becouse I've seen such scripts refusing wrong adresses many times...
