  1. Look here and there was an article on the site of the financial times but I can't find atm. hahahaha yes that is very funny Hehe, I'm form holland too was just joking around a bit. (although I know quite a few ppl that do drugs)
  2. Nope, his layers aren't locked. I had this problem a long time ago when I still was a flash-nub :PIt's simple: break the image apart. What? :PI'll explain: right-click your image, and click break apart. Suddenly, this strange dotted pattern comes over your image. This means Flash gives the picture the same status as a regular picture you'd draw in Flash. Little hint: shortcutkey is ctrl+b.Good luck
  3. Bees can smell better than dogs. It's a fact. And because dogs are relatively intelligent, they get bored more quickly. And last but not least, bees have the advantage they act upon instinct. For a few years now the Pentagon is researching the possibility to train bees so they can track down drugs and explosives, just like searchdogs. And it seems to be working. Alan Rudolph put a few bees in a straight-jacket (wonder how he did THAT ) and put a mix of sugar and TNT/drugs before them. Before they are trained, they automatically try to find sugar. Over the days, he changed the quantities of sugar and TNT, sugarlevel goes down, TNT goes up. After a while the bees automatically started to go after the TNT, instead of trying to find sugar. The same system for drugs, which also worked (stoned bees, ). Now the bees are equipped with a radio transmitter (a miniscule thing, mind you. Not the one you will find at a radio station ) Look at this image below (the radio is attached at the back of the bee): There are still some problems though: bees don't fly at night, they can't withstand storms or coldness. And in countries such as the Netherlands these bees won't work very well drugs all over the place. Bees would go berserk there.
  4. I reffered to the perfect human, as it should be in our eyes. Of course the crippled person is human. Ask him/her how he made long walks on the beach in his/her early years. Then he was more like the human i meant. Robots are already better than us. There are robots that can keep a ball bouncing of a racket infinite times (provided nobody influences the process). I can't see any human being do that. And what about these underwatersub-robots? We surely can't dive that deep. Saying robots are better than us is still a bit exaggerated. They can do only one thing, and they can do that really really well. But as it is now, we humans are on average just better still than any robot available. Surely, the more intelligent you make a robot the more dangerous it will be. Imagine that your brain is a thousand times better computer than the one your sitting behind now and we implement a computer that is two-thousand times better than your computer in the head of a robot. By then we will have complete knowledge of how the brain works, and thus the robot is programmed. Is it then smarter than us? Or even better? No. There is always a little something inside us that tells us that 'We're better!'. And maybe that is the sole thing that separates us from these superrobots: our ego. Of course you could programme an ego onto a superrobot, but that always will be a rigid, unflexible one. We have dynamic ego's. Maybe that is why *person* Sapiens have survived where other human species have failed: our dynamic ego's have enabled us to survive in a constantly changing environment. And maybe that little something is based on nothing. But still it's there. And it's nagging.
  5. In my opinion, robots can be considered as human when they can think, act, move and do everything a normal human can do.Of course it's difficult to draw the line between robot and human: robots aren't natural and we know it. If robots would take over the earth and would eliminate the human race (or even better: eliminate every living creature on the entire planet), and aliens would come and observe us, they wouldn't know better than to classify these robots as 'living creatures' (presuming they act somewhat like human beings). We'd do the same, if we would find such a strange civilization. It's very probable that we would never accept robots as our equals. God (and we) doesn't see us as his equal. He (presumably) created us, and the same goes for us and robots. We created them, they are lower in rank than us.
  6. Well I was doing some stuff on my pc and suddenly remembered Samorost. It's a beatifully designed game I played something like a year ago (a bit like myst (a bit!)). I think it has actually won some prizes. The link: Samorost To give a little starting hint, click on the building on the top. That's all I'll say. Further interesting things: There is a second game, much like this but smaller. It's called 'The quest for the rest'. It's a little promotional game for a band called 'The polyphonic spree'. There is a sequel to Samorost upcoming. Yey ! The site of the designers: Desginer page EDIT: They have actually won about 11 prizes. Look under info->achievements
  7. Check out one of the first new fansites: Click here Also take a look @the forums! This site has it's origins from the old aomholland.com, an (yup you gessed it) AoM site. The old members decided that it was time to move on Plz join, there is a lot of info about chars, civs, etc. on the forum
  8. Lol, the last injection I got was a 'meningokokken'-injection. It was right in a muscle, but it hurt less than the injection before. I guess if u are really engaged in a conversation and very distracted from the one putting a needle in your arm, it doesn't hurt that much. For me, the painless injection has my preference.
  9. @Vagodeoz -> do me a favor and read this article. It tells you exactly why Tibia is looking the way it is. It's not awful, it's their style. And if you've played longer than 2 weeks u should have seen frequent graphical updates. For anyone who is interested in Tibia (or just bored atm) read that article! Same goes for every graphical enemy of Tibia! Read it! It will explain a lot.
  10. Nah, quit runescape, play Tibia! It's great, fun, has a lot of fansites, a lot of features, and nice gameplay .
  11. Haha indeed. I think it's a ridiculous idea, but I thought it would be fun mentioning it. Well, at least it's creative And I bet that guys really making money fast. I mean, get a few cpu's, a few guns, a license, build a site, create a user interface, this probably cost him about 2-3 weeks to set up, and after that, he only has to oil them now-and-then. Pretty damn smart.
  12. Quite a new thing: smartlabels. These is a handy mix of chemicals in your fresh food wrapping, which colour varies depending on the state of the food. Got a fungus? Part of the label will turn green. Expired? Part will turn red. This will make it far safer to eat something. At first it wasn't introduced yet, cuz the chemicals used to display the state of your food were more poisonnous than a runny piece of cheese. But now a safe alternative has been introduced, first smartlabels have appeared in shops in america and France. How 'bout that
  13. After a decade, the European Union will finally get it's so-wanted .eu extension (for example http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the organisation that gives out internet extensions to the web (such as .com, .nl, .org, etc.). And this year they finally decided that they are gonnan create a new one: .eu .Halfway in the nineteens, the european union asked permission to use .eu, but it took a long time until they offered an official application to ICANN in 2000. In 2002 the first contracts were signed. By then, a lot of people were interested in a .eu address, and really wanted one.2005 is the new delivery date of the extension (october, to be precise), but as it looks now, they won't make that either. The company that's going to handle these new .eu addresses is EURid. EURid is a fusion of three internetbroker companies. If you really want a .eu extension, you'll have to wait. They won't be made public until 2006 (at least, that's what they expect ).
  14. Yes, recently Hitachi presented it's new humabot -> a friendly-looking robot with a nurse-outfit caled 'EMIEW'. EMIEW is short for excellent mobility and interactive existence as workmate (remember; Japanese ppl built this robot no offense ). It has sensors in it's head, waist and wheels, thereby avoiding hitting something. It knows about 100 words, so it's able to follow a few commands. Hitachi built two prototypes called Pal and Chum. They will be presented at the worldexpo in Aichi. There is nothing known yet about the price of this thing (but trust me, it won't be pretty )
  15. Mr. Lockwood, a self-conscious american, has come up with an .... unusual ... idea: live shot. This is a way of hunting and shooting without getting out of chair. You pay a few bucks a month, log in and you start shooting, controlling a rifle with your mouse that is actually moving. For now you can only shoot at targets (which you can also have them mail to you! only $9 and additional shipping fees ), but the good man has ideas of releasing game onto his property, so his customers can start shooting real game without lifting a finger! To me, a clear case of americaness, or, to put it in a different, non-flaming way: "Only in America!" Live shot
  16. Heh, I saw something on tv about a computer based on DNA that can play OXO (or 3-in-a-line). It took half an hour to make one move but it never lost a game.Furthermore I remember seeing a foto in a magazine (the 'Kijk', a Dutch science magazine) depicting nano-cones one which a cell was grown. The material of the cones was kind of like the same material they use in biology to let viruses grow: a nutrient substance. But as a matter of fact, the best supercomputer available at the present time happens to be in possesion of every friend you have: a brain. The brain instantly recognises a gazillion of shapes, sounds, even expressions, and while doing this it sends pulses to every corner of your body and at the same time recieving a billion pieces of information back which are immediately processed. It can hold information for 100 years, selects what to remember and what to forget. It instantly recognises dangerous situations, and then blocks everything out that is irrelevant (it can even shut down your ability to see color). It produces hormones that makes able to reproduce and have feelings. It can think. -pants-That's quite some list, huh. And not it's not even close to half of what you brain is really able to! It is also famous for it's ability .... <starts a long and boring summary of what you brain can do, eventually ending with how he ties and unties his shoes>
  17. Ow no not good to hear that. How can we ever be safe again. well it's quite disturbing to discover that we don't need to do anything and still we get pulled out at strange and irritating websites. Do you know of any way how you can stop this? Or hasn't there been found a way yet>
  18. haha, that must be really damn hard to tell your doctor :)Are we supposed to tell our very embarassing moments here 2 ?I think i have some nice ones in store if so
  19. Nah, I don't think it works that way. You know what molecules are? Well, if u look realy very close witha microscope at your skin, you see they don't really fit tightly together; it's rather a pattern of round-ish sphere's with holes between them. That's the place where the liquid passes through. lol, u mean like a sort of dentist vacuum cleaner thingy type ?
  20. sounds pretty cool.On the other side, you will have people with mechanico-phobia, that would prefer the needle. And what about tapping blood for a investigation etc.Btw, u have some balms that make your skin al numb. They also help against needlepain.
  21. Qop

    Tibia

Come on, tibia is a very good first step in the MMORPG world. It's free, has a good customer support system, and an enormous world.@technocian- There is a skillbar system now, where you can see the percentage to next skill /lvl advance. It makes training hellyvalot easier
  22. Hear, hear! As for you squidfriend there, here's a notic: Warning! Squid hanging on you computer can be dangerous! It's your own risk!
  23. Lol sprry dudes, but that piece of software already existed about 2-4 years ago. How do I know this? My father was CEO of the company who made it (NaN, or Not a Number). It's pretty cool, but NaN went broke. The idea was (and it worked) that you can download the software free(cuz any1 can copy from cd's) but have to pay 60 euro's for the manual. After a while my dad and another CEO got into a fight and he left. Little history lesson
  24. "Impossible is nothing"-I think they use it in Adidas add now, but it's not their quote."Sit next to a pretty girl for an hour and it will seem like a minute. Hold your hand in the fire for a minute and it will seem like an hour. Therefor, time is relative."-Alber Einstein
  25. AoE, AoE II and AoM were great games too. Apparently, the game section pretty ok then ;)And AoEIII WILL be great
