  1. This one's really easy. The best free online game is DarkBattle, simply because it's free (Sign up for a free account here). It's a pretty awesome MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) with a couple hundred people and a lot to do. However, the best game you have to pay for (it's worth it) is Madden NFL 2005. When you combine online play, with excellent graphics, sound, it gives the game an excellent feel of realism.
  2. I have been a bit curious about this for a while. I have used Mac OS 9 and Windows XP Pro and prefer the windows. But which one does everyone else like? Please include with your vote, a post containing why, how long you've used it, what other operating systems you've experienced, et cetera. Also, if anyone has a good comparison of specs of these operating systems, I would be very grateful. Thanks!
  3. Personally, I prefer black. Yellow text on a black background shows up nicely. Black also allows you to use link and title colors such as white or blue with a clean appeal. Another good option is a dark navy background with orange and green text. White, on the other hand, does NOT look professional. White just looks like you were too lazy to use anything other than #FFFFFF.
  4. Just vote for the better game, then explain your vote.
  5. I'm starting to get MySQL. But what about MySQL clusters? How do I set them up? (Read my other post for more info)
  6. Could someone help me out with this? I understand a little about MySQL clusters but have never really set one up before. I am attempting to set up my first cluster but it will not start correctly. I am also looking into this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Has anyone ever set up a cluster before?
  7. Could you explain the elements of this script to me? Where should I change things? Do the numbers stay the same?
  8. I don't really like this new reputation thing either. What's the point? I see someone has two "reputation points". So what? What does this mean? I don't have any points. Does this make that person with two points a better person than me? Do they get a better spot in some line? If so, couldn't I just have a few of my buddies make false accounts and give me some of these "goodie points"? And there are a few people on this site I don't like. Should I take away some of their points(I won't, this is just to prove a point)? And that point is: WHAT'S THE POINT?
  9. Search engines use different technologies to rank sites. If you want a high ranking page on, for example, Google. You don't exactly have to have a good site. High ranking sites on Google come from many links from well known sites such as NyTimes.com or something that ends in .gov. Yahoo! however, uses a different system. I think they count the number of hits and then have some interesting algorithm figure it out. I don't know on that one. You'd have to check. I usually use Google. But those Meta tags are what Google uses to display your page.
  10. I've discovered this "onmouseover" command and now I'm rather attached to it. But i've incountered a major problem with this command: The images under the mouse don't load until the cursor is over the button. How do I preload the images so that loading time is not there and the image flashes like it's supposed to?
  11. Hey. I have a few questions about mySQL. I'm just starting out on using it and am curious to know: 1) What exactly is it? 2) Where is it stored? 3) Does my computer have to be on all the time for other people to use my site? 4) Where can I get one? 5) How can I access it? 6) What does mySQL stand for? 7) Is there anything else I should know about using it?Any help with this would be appriciated. Thanks!
  12. Paul? No. Paul usually loses to me by a few points. Stephanie uses a Hello Kitty calculator so she doesn't count. Jeffery's just crazy and Nick rarely does well at the sprint. None of them are as good with the TI systems as I. FOR EXAMPLE how about that last competition? I wrote a program to solve that one problem just in time! That was great...
  13. Uh huh. Nice shal. But that usually doesn't work. And I DON"T HAVE TO RESORT TO CHEATING TO KICK YOUR REAR!!! I usually place in the sprint. And you...
  14. I need a place to do that. Geocities hates me now...too many Java Applets floating around? Maybe...heh. Yeah. Just a few more posts...maybe I'll make a game too...
  15. You know I PWN you when it comes to calculators. I'm coming to the math competition this Saturday armed with:TI89TitaniumTI89TI83+TI86 (If I can find it)TI83 (If I can fit it in my pants)and a whole crapload of AAA batteries.
  16. If you want the best firewall on the web, and what I mean by that is the best I can find, go to:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ download their free firewall. Or go to Best Buy and just buy the Pro version. It's about $20.
  17. I never was really good with PHP. I mean as good as I am with Basic, C or HTML. But I never really got PHP. And I really don't get Java. I guess things never lined up as well. I never did like that $ thingie.
  18. TI-89 Program: shal()PrgmLocal x,yrand(1)->yIf y=0 Then"Shal is a moron"->xEndIfIf y=1 Then"Shal is a n00b"->xEndIfDialogTitle "Shal Dengeki"Text "What is shal?"Text string(x)EndDlogEndPrgm
  19. Who said PHP or Java was logical? HTML, Basic, C++...good languages. They're based in reason. But JAVA SUCKS! It's so freaking illogical!!! I can't get it to work half the time and the other half it does the opposite of what I expect. But HTML makes sense. BASIC really makes sense (hence the name). C is a bit abstract but still makes more sense than PHP.
  20. I'm one of Shal's "various sources."
  21. You should know this one Shal! How many times do I have to tell you? Oh well, here it is:
