  1. This is an awesome page for finding hex colors: http://www.lissaexplains.com/color.shtml They are the 216 non-dithering browser safe colors.
  2. Gmail is an email provider in its beta testing. It's main feature is the 1000 mb of space that you get. Info: https://www.google.com/gmail/about/ You can only sign up thru an invite. If you want one, pm me! lol..
  3. Yep. Xanga is very easy to use, and you don't have to worry about bandwith problems. That is one of the best features of blog sites.
  4. I have FTP surfer, but I haven't used it yet. It had alot of good reviews where I got it from though, .
  5. I use this... <embed src="PUT MIDI/MP3 URL HERE" autostart="true" loop="true" hidden="true"><noembed><bgsound src="PUT MIDI/MP3 URL HERE AGAIN"></noembed> But it seems like im taking the long way around, lol.
  6. Don't know about making an alert shake, but you can make the window shake with java. <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function shake(n) { if (parent.moveBy) { for (i = 10; i > 0; i--) { for (j = n; j > 0; j--) { parent.moveBy(0,i); parent.moveBy(i,0); parent.moveBy(0,-i); parent.moveBy(-i,0); } } } } // --> </script> Trailing text.... go here: http://www.hypergurl.com/trailingtext.html
  7. walagata isnt accepting free sign ups nowand ripway only allows a very very small file transfer allowance (i think 5 mb/day!) *sigH* ive been looking everywhere for a good mp3 host.
  8. I have this little sweeper thing that's made especially for computers. It works ok, but doesnt get the stains out of the screen :)I would get a cleaning kit if I were you..just to be safe
  9. I recommend Ad-aware and Spybot for getting rid of the spyware/adware.I also recommend the Sygate Personal Firewall(All three are free.)But the best thing you can do, is stop using Internet Explorer, and use Mozilla Firefox as your browser. They have no popups and no spyware/adware!
  10. dot.tk offers free domains. Certain ones, you have to pay for, though. It would be yourname.tk, pretty nifty I think.
  11. That's awesome! I will go look under my laptop as soon as I find my air-blowing-contraption. Yeah... sometimes I notice the laptop lagging.Sometimes the lagging is due to adware/spyware loading on my comp. I just ctrl+alt+del and see what's taking up the cpu, then stop the process if it seems fishy....lol.Again, thanks for the tip!
  12. It's not that expensive. I use linksys for my laptop, but recently, the wireless connection to the internet stopped working! Now I have to go online in the kitchen...
  13. I like Animation Shop 3 (comes free with Paint Shop Pro). I'm kinda a novice on it though. I might give a try to these free ones though, who knows, they might be better
  14. Thanks for the tip. I used to get my homepage messed with everyday...to this annoying about:blank page with all of these links...But now I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. I haven't gotten any pop-ups or any problems at all with it. I definetely suggest this browser...
  15. Yeah, I am learning all about this stuff in health class. Very interesting... I learned that if don't eat enough and have enough fat, then you can break your bones by even just sitting down. =0 now thats scary...
  16. Yeah, there was some definite downtime today. I couldn't log in thru the home page... it gave me an error. Good thing it's up now, but that downtime certainly wasn't a good sign :)Hopefully we'll get a reason for the downtime??
  17. A blog is an online journal. Like the others said, some example are livejournal and xanga (these are the most popular ones). Or you can make your own blog with some html and use blog resources: http://geekphilosopher.com/MainPage/blogLinksTools.htm I prefer xanga the most for my blog. There are a few really good sites (blogring.net and createblog.com) that provide awesome skins to use for xanga.
  18. I used to have a website blog. I used regular html and all that fun stuff, and just used HaloScan (haloscan.com) for my commenting. Oh yes, here's a website I found helpful for finding these services. http://geekphilosopher.com/MainPage/blogLinksTools.htm There's a part about open source, hehe.
  19. As I said before, in another thread about image creating software, you can download free trials of both. You can also get PSP (paint shop pro) version 8 for less then $50 on ebay. Version 9 will cost around $100 or a little less. Photoshop also has free trial, but the price to buy it is much more expensive than PSP ($700 list price, i think?)Adding glitter to a gif image? Yeah, I think you will need one of these programs.
  20. I use google, and google only. They obviously have the most pages in their database. And also, there are lots of different things you can do to refine your search. Awesome book = Google hacks . (theyre not really hacks though, lol.)
  21. I love gmail, not only because of its space, but it's way of making your e-mails like conversations. All the replies/forwards linked to an email are listed together.
  22. I have a few gmail invites, 5 i think, to give out. PM (private message) me if you are interested in some! (first come, first serve)

    The Sims 2!

My friend just got it for her birthday! She said it's much more realistic than the original sims. The people you create supposedly grow older, and there are alot more options for relationships and such.
  24. I like paint shop pro 9. It's cheaper than photoshop, and it also comes with Animation Studio 3, which is really great. If you're interested in it, you can download a free trial at jasc.com.
