  1. I've a mySQL database backup which I used with my blog at another host which went down. I would like to restore my blog to what it was the other time. I wonder if I upload the blog installation files, restored the database backup, then specify the blogging program to use the restored database, will everything then turn out fine?Need help urgently, thanks
  2. Can Adobe PS's brushes be imported into other graphics program and used there?
  3. Erm, I've a question. Do you need special software to create Flash animations? If yes, are there free ones?
  4. If you, like me, cant afford teh hundreds of bucks to pay for Adobe Photoshop, you may want to try GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It's touted as the open-source equivalent of Photoshop. It's free! https://www.gimp.org/
  5. I tried the cpanel demo, and the look and feel of Xisto cpanel looks rather different from other webhost's cpanel I've used. I'm more familiar with a blue cpanel template but this looks nice too
  6. Yeah I agree that phpBB can be easily customized than IPB. You can edit the theme unitl it looks so different from the original style
  7. I think cPanel is a brilliant idea. By putting everything a webmaster needs in one software, it saves the webmaster time and effort in managing the site. And the Fantastico is a brillinat idea too, it collects many open-source scripts which dont cost a cent
  8. I use Frontpage 2000 for all coding work and GIMp to create graphics. But sometimes FP does screw up and I have to use Notepad to edit the code!
  9. Coding: Frontpage (a bit embarrassing though)Graphics: GIMP (a freeware graphics manipulation program that is said to be comparable to Photoshop)FTP: WS_FTP free versionBrowser: Internet Explorer or MozillaDoes a web designer need more software than the usual bunch of software?
  10. I use frontpage mainly because I can't work without seeing the visual outcome of the site, but I guess more 'pro' designer go for Dreamweaver of even just Notepad.
