  1. just so people know:/www/ is just a link (shortcut) to /public_html/. In other words, they are the same./public_ftp/ is where you put all your anonymous ftp stuffif you've ever used microsoft's PWS or IIS then /public_html/ is just like the c:\inetpub\www folder, like Troop107-Admin said you don't put the /public_html/ in the file namealso i'm not sure with this webhost but some webhosts often have other folders, ie./mail/ (e-mails)/neomail-prefs/ (or something similar, preferences for webmail program 'neomail'/tmp/ (temporary files, eg. php sessions)/ssl/ (where ssl certificates are stored)
  2. i use Paint Shop Pro for images and FrontPage 2000 for prototyping the website. When i finish prototyping the website i just use NotePad to edit it

  4. not sure, maybe the socket times out or something sorry can't helpanyway i have internet sharing between 2 computers both running Windows 98. I use a program called 'WinGate'. the server has ip address 192.168.0.1 and the other computer has ip address 192.168.0.2, and gateway/dns server set to 192.168.0.1regarding your problem sajjadnaveed, would you be able to try a windows server? WinGate allows you to popup a Java authentication box, which might be what you are looking forhope to hear from you again, daniel
  5. yes they are hard to steal but if people get a copy of a 'SWF Decompiler' they can decompile the compiled flash file (SWF) back into the FLA. anyway the amount of things you can do with flash is incredible - i'm working on a flash chat program at the moment
