Wild tangent has talked to these companies and the fact it has auto updating like WIn XP autoupdate is why but ya the even do them in flash or ways that are mad to stick out FLash lags most people computers liek a mofo i mean come on Thats the attach rate of spyware if you look at it thats how likely it is to get it "hackers" waste so much of there life deveolping this stuff to have it blocked... Do you think people would watch TV's having 15min of commercials on all stations at the same time that could potentaily damage the TV? NO some might but not most people. Most would turn it off and/or turn it off till the sow came back on although i Think it is just a matter of time Before digital have commercials pause whats on when you change channels and having ads follow you I myself Wont click ANYTHING that in a add anymore i may take notice of the site its in and visit later but I click NONE. do a google search about setting active X controls more securly and instead of using Admin. on win xp (or limited) Use power user so u can still install without the adware or spyware gaining your permissions.

Tripod is another spyware infested heck hole you get what you need and about 25 worms 30 critical spyware progs, and a lot of other stuff If i use a free host I normally use Freewebs but im the only one who views those I dont put public sites on them but tripod may be decent for all broadband users but they are cluttered and there easy site builder isnt targeted for who it should be they should target the site builder for people who dont have much time online and will only be using site occansoinaly but not for people who make sites all the time its like dreamweaver BEFORE you use a program like that you should ALWAYS Learn the code at least the basics before you use WYSIWYG coders.I have used tripod but they like geocities are becomming bad NOT AS BAD as geocities but if youre on dial up[ it can literally take 2-4 min tio load a single page with little content at all anywaysSo all in all I myself would rate tripod a 2/8THEY SUCK!

Geocities would be decent but they have banner ads i can take a singl banner on top and even a additional one on buttom but when they have bar ads which have like 4-6 ads that all clash together and lag dialup vistors and gettign worse the ads take up your own bandwidth YES YOURS they now apply iframes and all against you when in reality thats not really taking up your bandwidth, Then they have the massive pop ups with adware and spyware if they screened there ads better maybee even left the bar ad made the popups popunders (which more people view anyways because they dont have the urge to close them rigth away) as to kill the amount of spyware they would most likely get more customers and make even more of the more effective logical ad methods But even novices shouldn't use then I feel they, unless changed, will die soon because the public in general is becomming more aware of spyware (although alot are still as stupid as they get) so more people are staying farther away from the spyware infested hellhole...So if you asked for my review you got it and if you didnt to bad....All in all I would recommend goign to geocities to NOBODY,Because I cant even begin to compare them to Xisto!
