  1. The game sucks. Basically. If for some reason you feel like spending more time with this game, there are some side missions to keep you busy. You can meet up with informants who give you tips on various crimes going down around the city or who ask you to do a bit of dirty work for them. These missions are pretty quick and easy, but completing them is a good way to make a little extra cash. There's a madam who sends you on errands to take care of her girls, a cabbie who needs an extra driver from time to time, and more. Aside from the informant missions, you can join an illegal street racing circuit or put your fists to work in an underground fighting tournament. As you cruise around the city, police dispatch will inform you of random crimes that are happening in your vicinity. If you want to, you can go arrest or kill the perps. If that's too much work, you can simply walk up to people on the street and frisk them for contraband. Sometimes you'll find things like gun parts, stolen license plates, obscene photos, or drug paraphernalia. When you collar a criminal, you earn career points, and you can turn in collected evidence to the precinct or sell it to a pawn shop for cash. Career points are rewarded every time you solve a crime. Once you have enough career points, you'll be promoted within the police department. There are five ranks to achieve, and at each rank you can earn a couple of new driving or shooting skills. If you play by the rules, you'll earn good-cop points. If you use unnecessary force and terrorize the public, you'll earn bad-cop points. These good-cop and bad-cop points don't have much effect on the game unless you reach the extreme on the bad-cop side of the scale, which will cost you a rank within the department. The basic gameplay mechanics are pretty simple in True Crime: New York City. You can run around, climb on obstacles, shoot enemies, commandeer and drive cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and use a few different styles of melee combat. Each of the three console versions of the game play similarly, but the GameCube version definitely suffers from not having enough buttons. As a result, on the GameCube you have to push two buttons to perform various actions like opening doors and climbing fences, which isn't at all intuitive. You can be a good cop or a bad cop, but either way you'll be playing a bad game. Once you play this game you'll realize why nobody in New York drives. It's just not worth the hassle. You can flash your badge or fire your gun into the air to get a driver to hand over a car, and you can also purchase various cars if you're so inclined. The cars are all based on real-world vehicles, and you'll recognize them as such even though none of them are licensed. The vehicle physics aren't realistic at all. Cars seem to float around at times, (OMFG) and they don't ever feel like they have any weight to them. You can perform some fancy moves, like driving on two wheels and performing a pit maneuver to spin out a fleeing suspect, but these tricks look and feel awkward. The pit maneuver is especially goofy, because all you have to do is lightly tap the rear quarter-panel of any car and it will instantly spin out, regardless of what type of vehicle it is. Its like a undergraded GTA game. Only in cop version. And did you see the commercial. He did the gayest karate move. ??I give it a 3.0 Gamespot gave it a 4. something. ??Copied from Gamepot; well most of it to support my claim.

  2. Maybe you have no desktop items. XD Just kiddingWell when I have problem I close EVERYTHING. Hit CTRL + ALT + DEL and end everything, including your system operated programs. Then reboot. If that doesn't work, maybe your computer is taking it's time loading your desktop icons. Or instead of using CTRL + ALT + DEL, Hit Start > Run > explorer.exe. If that doesn't work, try calling customer service/help. You computer may be damage, or screwed.I hope I helped.

  3. The only thing I can tell you is....

Your Hosting Credits have Expired. You will need atleast 4 credits to UN-SUSPENDED your hosting Account. Account is UN-suspended only when a user has more than 3 hosting credits. You get credits by making forum posts. After you make the required posts, your hosting account will be active automatically within a few hours.

The Hosting Credits determine the amount of days you can remain inactive. We recommend that you maintain a sufficient amount of hosting credits (more than 10). This will give you enough time, incase you cannot stay active due to any consequences.

    :P

    Although I can't really talk. I'm like...on a negative 6. :P

I was busy scripting someone's forums. I forgot all about Xisto.

  4. I haven't thought of a title but I need to find a "on-line" game where it has a virtual game client, and you can build your own character. With weapons, armor, etc. Then it will be like one of those MaxPayne/007/Tom Clancy LockDown like games. And there is a on screen radar that tells you when someone is near. And stealth like controls for sneaking up on people. Basically you get the idea.If there is a game like this out already, please tell me!

  5. Its cool, but I hate the fact that when you kill someone, or blow something up, or money, weapons, etc are on the ground it dissapears. That way, if I lose my way aorund San Andreas, and I don't have my map or I don't feel like pulling up the in-game map, I don't know if i've been in this area before. This gets annoying in a lot of games. Also the missions are a real headache. I don't even play San Andreas much anymore since I got stuck on N.O.E. and my girlfriend (Millie) is never home, therefore I can't get the stupid keycard. :) So I put it in the case and said "Fudge it".

  6. If you leave your computer on, eventually it will shut itself down. Basically depending on your setting for "power". You can change these setting by right-clicking whilst view your desktop > and click properties > Screen Saver > and Power. From here you can tune you power limits. (Walkthrough for Windows XP. If i'm not mistaken its not much different from any other version of Windows.)

But leaving your computer on 24/7 wouldn't be so wise. I'm mean..its your home computer right? And if so, NO. That would do nothing but kill your computer's battery when it goes into hibernation, or stand by. (It does it automatically when left idle for the time indicated in the "Power" section.) And if the computer's battery dies, you can't go into hibernation at an later date. So be wise and turn your computer off if you know it won't be used for long periods of time.

  7. I did more research.

Gopher is a server & port. It's port number is 70 (TCP & UCP)

Gopher service is used to search and retrieve files from Gopher servers anywhere on the Internet (Gopherspace). Gopher servers store files containing text or binary data, directory information (called phone book), images or sound. Gophers also provide gateways to other systems (WWW, WAIS, archie, WHOIS, Telnet, Ftp and so on). Informations are shown to the user using a series of menus. Any item can be selected from the menu by typing its line number or by placing the cursor next to the item (you can use arrows keys) and pressing the RETURN key.

Each item on the menu may be:

    a subdirectory
    a text file
    a binary file
    a sound file
    an image file
    a phone book (directory information)
    an index-search
    a Telnet session
Items on the Gopher menu have an identifying symbol next to them:
    / subdirectory
    tel link a server telnet
    cso yellow pages
    ? search indexed database
    bin binary files
    pcbin MSdos binary files
    ) sound files
    picture images files
You can keep track of the exact location of items which you use often, using bookmarks.

How to get to GOPHER (go top)

    Local clients

Public domain Gopher clients are available by anonymous FTP from many sites (e.g. boombox.micro.umn.edu in the directory /pub/gopher).

    GopherMail (go top)
In order to use gophermail, you have to: Send email without nor subject neither text. So you will receive an email with a gopher menu inside. You can type 'x' on item which you want to look. Then you must, of course, send that email. And so on.

In order to limit search: type 'Menu=10' in the subject, to limit menu size. type 'Split = 49000' (49000 is an example) in the subject, to limit file size.

If you send the word help in the subject line of an e-mail message to one of the GopherMail servers, you will get instructions and information on using the system.

You can make the GopherMail conversation more efficient by editing your replies to contain just the Gopher link information for the items you want. You can build a type of bookmarks file by saving the links that you want to use again.

Binary and Sound Files are sent as uuencoded files.

(This was copied and pasted from http://www.wowarea.com/english/help/gopher_help.htm )

Telnet? I cna basically explain that by myself. Its used for accessing a Telnet server, accessing files on another server; webpage. I only use it for hacking. I don't like..use it for other things.
