  1. I am glad for you it is over with! Smashing windows and restraining orders - you had a lucky escape. Ahhh the errors of youth... btw I made a calculation error in my earlier post. 15% of 2 well now there are really more like 2.5 billion men anyway is 375,000,000 that is three hundred and seventyfive million men that are gay. I bet you wil be lucky again! Enjoy your freedom savely!
  2. it is all hype, and no reason. I totally agree. If you drive ten additional miles, because you want to save one penny, and then you fill up you barely save enough money to buy a Mars bar. so what is the point? It is better to drive economically. Avoiding to brake, no quick acceleration. if you know that you will have to wait for more than 20 seconds and the engine is already on working temperature, switch it OFF. You are not in a great hurry? stay within the speed limit, it reduces stress, but more importantly it saves petrol. driving passively always saves petrol. let the next person get into your line in front of you, use all the available space, when a one-lane reduction is ahead, only move into the one lane at the latest possible moment, just think of how much longer the que is, if they are in single file. It is half the length in double file! that speeds up the whole process.and so on and on
  3. fresh from the cow!!or microwaved with honey, delish!!!I used to drink lots of milk, but have cut down now, since no real cow is in close vincinity.
  4. I always enjoyed studying with mature students. They have more experience; they are more serious about learning. You have qualities, they wish they had, but are too afraid to admit. As long as you don't think, you are missing out, because you are cut out of their conversations, ignore them. Are you there for the social aspects, or because you want to improve your web programming skills, to get you going in a future job? You are on this course, because you have an aim. That is admirable. Stay with it! You will regret later, if you drop out. Be as practical about the learning as possible; ask questions, allow you to ask silly questions. If you don't know the answer, don't be shy. My mother always was bad at maths and always had to ask for additional explanation, and she was always the only one. Then one day she understood the first time round - afterwards her classmates asked why she did not ask for another explanation, because they had relied on her to always ask, so they did not have to "embarrass" themselves and admit that they did not know an answer.I am sure your class mates could learn a lot just by the way you ask questions. They are just too stupid. Ignore them. You go to school because you want to learn.Enjoy your chance for learning. It is a privilege!
  5. Thanks for the clarification. and I will look at Xisto - Web Hosting for the hosting of the other site. Is there a difference, since one is a org.uk and the other one is a co.uk?
  6. Of course love hurts. You loved that man after all. And you should be pleased that you have it in you to love. That is a very good characteristic. Being able to love makes us human makes us lovable and understanding and caring and good company. Treasure you feelings. But respect yourself as well. In an abusive relationship the abuser lives on your love and because you love him he has you in your pocket.Luckily you didn't get pregnant (-:
  7. Sorry, stop me if I am wrong. He suggested you should get a nose ring, and he went half on it? Now he is complaining? Get away from him as quick as you can. He is manipulating you and abusing the trust you put in him. Especially if this your first "proper" relationship and you are more vulnerable, you also have to protect you. If he does not value you, he is not worth touching you. And aggression is NO base for a relationship. NEVER. He beats you or is aggressive and you are out of the door - as much as you think you love him and as much as he makes you feel good in those other times and it does feel so good. GET AWAY. Have respect for yourself. If he beats you, he does not have any love or respect for you. Never. You are worth more. You will find a better man, whom you can trust and the mutual enjoyments will be better as well. Trust me.Good luck and lots of strength, because you will need it. But you also have it in you. Admitting here is the first step in the right direction. Don't get sucked by him into dependencies that are not making you stronger - he exploits you, plays with you. But you can step away. If you have doubts like this step away. there are 2 billion man out there. about 15% are gay that makes 30,000,000. and that are just those that admit they are gay (-:
  8. Welcome Jess, Welcome Jongusmoe, I also only just joined. However Kubi just scared me - well not really, how does one go about to not revive an old thread? What level of activity is considered dead? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes and suggestions, I think I will wait for the 30 credits, does that mean - if I want to host both sites I need to get 70, or 80 credits?
  10. Hi my name is Joachim and I am new to this forum. I will try to get enough credits to get the websites for two projects hosted. So my first question. Is that possible? I ve two domain names, how do I host those two? Just getting all the credits together? O.k. My websites will be for a community base art centre in rural Northumberland the North East of England and a community arts association. I run a website using mambo, which is here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and a website which is in php which is here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ the two sites I am planning to host are here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ My brother wrote the code for the http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ site - I cannot do php, although, if I see code, I can make sense to, I can copy and get it incorporated into my site... I am reasonably able at photoshopping as well. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is my current job, a community website for diverse arts in the North East of England. It is my first attempt at Mambo and is going fairly well, although it is still in beta. the other two pages were done in dreamweaver. I use both Mac and PC but I am rebel at heart, so I would always go for the Apple. I am using an eMac for most of the design and the PC only for testing - well it is the work one as well. A general statement about me: I have a problem with CAPITALISING. My mothertounge is not english and we always capitalise, so apologies in advance. Interests? Apart from Computers? reading, music (mostly classical), religion, cycling, dancing, what ever tickles my fancy.... I look foward to being active in this community, hope for some good discusions and wish you all a good day Joachim
  11. good to hear about this. I love Skype as well. It is also cheaper if you make international calls. Very cheap indeed. Do look into it.but the experience quoted shows again, why it is so important to stay anoymous on the web, simply do not add any personal information , just tell you friends. And with personal information I mean. NOT YOUR AGE and location and your SEX. it is so tempting just to ring all the hot 18 to 24 year old female that live only two miles down the road. just don't do it. Otherwise, I am addicted as well....
  12. great site, I particularly like the holy *BLEEP* bag....great design as well, nice big logos, easy on the eye.Good luck with selling stuff!
  13. I would like to second that request - newbie here as well.
  14. one addition, it really depends what you want to do. Blogging? Wordxpress, drupal, CMS, Mambo or postnuke.have a look on their respective forums and you can see the activity of their communities. Mambo is undergoing a huge change in the moment, so if you have a little bit of tim to make your decision, give it a while, since they have to sort themselves out first.
  15. although I have not used phpnuke, I am using Mambo, on one of my websites. It is very good, and there is a reasonable number of additional modules and components. SO I wold give it the thumbs up, you can slao integrate php, and it is fairly flexible, so if you have some experience in html and css and php it will help, but is not necessary!!!
  16. Sorry, but the bible is full of references to drumming and listening to music - just read the Psalms!!!I also think it is an oversimplificaton to assume that only listening to Jazz will want to make a woman hop into bed with you. That has never worked with me. Jazz is far to nervous for that in my listening. If you think, that certain influences should be banned, than I think you are mistrusting God, who gave us free will afterall. People that want to ban music, because of the label that is attached are distorting Gods creative influence. Who are you, who am I, who is that author, to say that Jazz or R&R music cannot lead to a better understanding and appreciation of Gods creation?I have seen more people loose their faith due to bad preaching and indecent behaviour of the elder and priests than due to Rock&Roll or Jazz - and I have spoken to lots of people.
  17. I have to say, I loved the iSight, but then I used it to communicate with my wife, who was at the other side of the world for two months. Sleek affair (-: I looked into cheaper firewire cams, but they lacked both flair, and connectivity to my wife's iBook. That's why we went for them in the end. My brother has a cheap - generic one, but the quality is really crap. So if you have not bought one yet, I would very much recommend one.(No I am not paid by Apple, nor overtly rich....)
