  1. Does anyone else play Magic? I recently participated in the 9th edition release tournament, and got into a 6way tie for 6th place. My favorite card that I drew first round.....Mortivore: 2 colorless, 2 black. nice little creature, that has a power and toughness equal to the # of creature cards in all graveyards, with a 1 black regeneration cost If anyone else plays, tell us about your fav cards, where you play, your decks, etc...
  2. ok, cools. just a few questions. I changed the register page to the following as you can see, there are 4 extra fields. Valid Email Confirm Email Confirm password Master (I'm 90% sure it will create a pull down menu with 2 choices) *What would this value be stored as?* also, with the confirm e-mail and confirm password, I'm not sure what the code would be to check and see if the match, and if not, to prompt the user to redo them to correct it. If you could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I just wrote what I posted in school one day, because I was bored. I then tried to flesh out the story, give you the full details behind who the two characters used to be, but I haven't had time to really work on it, school keeps getting in the way. I'll post it chapter by chapter as I finish it, hope it works out.
  4. thanks for the input, I'll work on it, and post my updated one as soon as I can upload it at school. The really scary part tho, that is a picture of a real person, and that is his real eyes. wonderful what conjunctivivtis will do for you. Yes, the whole point of it is to get your attention, so that's the reason behind the eyes in the first place. If you want to find the stories behind the question, I posted it in the creativity forum, so it's there if you want to read it, wrote it during school one day.

  6. That poem sounds a lot like what I went through 4 months ago, man are those some powerful words. I like it a lot, but it fits too scarily well
  7. *NOTE* when the story is in Bold, that is Decessus speaking, and when it's underlined, that's Aevum speaking *END NOTE* Aevum Decessus I was once just another man, living my life like every other John Doe in society. Now, the very mention of my name has the ability to strike fear into the bravest of men. Whenever I arrive, the fear and panic of everyone present is palpable and electric. These emotions used to cause me great pain and suffering, but that can never compare to the suffering caused by my Master when I try to deny my namesake. I was once a simple man, living in an apartment with my brother. Now, my name brings hope to the hopeless. I have the ability to heal, even those who are hurt in their minds. This power has been granted to me, by my reverence and faith to my True Master, who does not cause me pain. Who am I, that I cause so much fear in men? What horrible transformation must I have gone through to cause many to run in fear at my approach? The truth is, I have done nothing that has not been done before. I have a simple job, that is required for life to function, yet I am greeted by hat and revulsion. I strengthen those who are affected by me, yet those people are the ones who hate me the most. I am Decessus Who am I, that I cause hope and forgiveness? What transformation have I gone through to cause many to weep at my approach? The truth is, I have done nothing that has not been done before. I have a simple job, which is required, and I am welcomed and appreciated for it. I strengthen those who are affected by me, and those people are those who love me most. I am Aevum These years of pain and misery have caused me to harden my heart against the pleas of those I must touch. I have been force to shut out those cries of fear and desperation, before they made me mad beyond belief. The only thing that keeps me moving in this pained existence is the fear of the pain that my Master will cause me if I should fail him. These years of love and hoy have caused me to open my heart to the pleas of those in true need, those who I must touch. I have been forced to open my mind and heart to the cries of pain that I must minister to, so that I can better continue my task. The thing that truly keeps me moving is the true love showered onto me by my True Master. Whenever I must touch a man, I must first strip that man. I must strip him of his very life, his every memory, except those of his Good Deeds. I commit this intellectual and emotional rape in order to keep my own sanity, and to lighten the burden of the man I have touched. Whenever I must touch a man, I must strip that man. I must strip him of his hurts, and all of his emotional memories of pain, except those placed to strengthen him. I commit this intellectual and emotional healing, in order to better complete my job, and to release the load of the man I have touched. I have retained many memories throughout my long career, some delightful, and just as many which cause me pain to this day. I remember with fondness the time when I was able to touch a man in front of a crowd. This man was apparently important, judging by the number of people present to hear his speech, and this mass made it all the better for me. I was able to simply walk out of the crowd, and up to this man, and simply placed my hand on his chest, and walked back into the anonymity of the crowd. Within five minutes, the emotions of the crowd were running rampant, from those who were secretly overjoyed, to those whose illusions of safety were shattered beyond repair. This mix was interesting, but the thing that excited me most, was the fear tantamount to all, something which I had come to expect from my touch, especially in that massive crowd. There was only one small discrepancy with that crowd, and that was localized to a random area in the middle. It was only a small thing, so it?s really not worth mentioning. I have kept many memories throughout my career in my namesake, some beautiful, yet as many which have hurt me and pain me to this day. I remember with pain the time when I was walking through a crowd, at a huge speech, when I caught sight of my brother walking with purpose towards the speaker. I saw him reach out and touch the man, and yet I was too far away from that man to do anything about it except scream out my brother?s name in grief. I did the least that I could in that situation, and brought my touch to those who were within my reach. Coupled with this joyous memory, there is one particular memory that, even though it occurred almost 85 years ago, I can never seem to forget. My task that day had been to simply touch some poor farmer in Guatemala, no big deal. Unfortunately, as I approached the man across the field he was working, he suddenly looked up from his toil, stared directly at me for a moment, then proceeded to bolt for his house. This both confused and angered me, as it had never occurred before, and it complicated matters needlessly. I figured that this poor man had somehow felt my approach, and had run to warn his family about me. This excited me a little, as it meant that the whole family?s emotions would be involved, and I headed for the house. I was extremely surprised to feel not fear, but an aura of calmness surrounding the house, something that made me uneasy for its unusualness. I decided to ignore the feeling, and pressed onwards, where I found that the fool had gathered his whole family, something that would only make matters harder on his family. I almost felt sorry for them, but I had a job to do, so I approached the man I was to touch. Roughly 85 years ago, I was able to bring my touch to the life of a poor farmer in Guatemala, as my Master had commanded me to do. I was approaching his house through the field, when I suddenly caught sight of my brother approaching the man I was to touch. I panicked and gave the man the ability to see my brother and I, and then hid myself from my brother?s view. I ran to the man in his house, and watched as he gathered his family for a time of prayer, then I was told to protect this man from the touch of my brother. Suddenly, I felt a burning hand grab my wrist, inches from the man?s head, stopping me from completing my task. This angered me to no extent, yet when I tried again, I found my whole body immobilized against my will. I was then surprised to see my twin brother Aevum, holding me back from my task. I was confused and asked him the meaning of this intrusion, and he simply told me that his Master had intervened on behalf of this man, and that he was under Aevum?s protection, and I was to leave him be for that day. Knowing that his Master was the true Master, I respected his decision and left the man to his family. Thankfully, I was able to stop my brother in time to save this farmer?s family from the pain and suffering he would have had to go through had my brother been able to touch him. It is for these small things that I am able to continue on in my duty. It is these times when I am appreciated that I see the power of my True Master in man. It is through these experiences that I am able to work through my namesake and nature to further my Master. These memories of mine seem backwards, for my joys and my angers are different from man. Through these feelings I show my true nature, I show that my transformation changed more than my name and my appearance, it also changed my very nature, turning me into my namesake. I am Aevum. I am Life I am Decessus. I am Death
  8. Yeah, my name is Sierben (bet you haven't seen that one before 'unless you are dutch '), yeah, I was looking for a place to host my new site, have the main page already, just needed access to a site with FTP, PHP, and MySql, and I found this site. I love the idea of activity on a forum adding to your site's abilities, and was amazed at the uniqueness of it. Overall, I love trying out anything new, although there are limits to that Anyway, I'm a first term college student at DeVry University, studying Computer Engineering Technology, getting my Bachelor's in 3 years. I love working with computers, and I built my current desktop with the help of my friend who is now in the Army, serving as a Chaplain's Assistant. I have enough computer parts lying around my room to fill 3 computer tower boxes, and routinely try to find upgrade parts. I am also into Airsoft and Paintballing with friends, although some of them got scared off last time because we got stopped by the cops for "5-6 teenage guys dressed in black just piled out of a van behind the church in the parking lot at 9:30 at night" That was fun, especially when the cops opened up the bags and found all the airsoft guns Well, enough about my life, hope everyone is having a great day! Talk to you all later
  9. I created this sig from several inspirations. First off, I started with the story that I had written during school one day, which is where the quote originated (I'll be posting it soon, check back in a day or two and you'll see it under the story section). Then I was browsing a free image directory which can be found HERE. There I found the picture located at the righthand side of the sig, then I flipped it horizontally, inverted it, and inserted a simple black-white gradient in between, with the text overlayed in the center, with an inner shadow. I know that it is pretty basic, but I just started out using photoshop, and this is what I decided to make out of it. Any comments/suggestions are appreciated, and you can get ahold of my be e-mail if you need me.
  10. I was rating the one of yours that I saw, but I just realized that they keep changing whenever I refresh the page. Hoe exactly is that accomplished?
  11. I would have to go with a laptop if I had Us$850 to spend on a new computer. The major reasons why a laptop are, 1)So I can use it at my Wi-Fi enabled school, making notes/assignments easier 2)The portability of a laptop is amazing, and 3)$850 wouldn't be too much of an improvement over my current desktop's costs, so what would be the point? My current desktop has a $100 proc (AMD Sempron 2800+), $100 dollars in RAM (1 GB DDR 333Mhz), $200 video card (6600GT), $400 in HDD (1 250GB SATA Drive $350, and 1 60GB IDE HDD~$50+), $10 wireless card $50 lights and coolingI would also love to have a laptop, as long as it has a better battery life than my sisters laptop, which has a non-functional battery which isn't under warranty anymore.
  12. I switched to Firefox because of recommendations and because I was fed up with the spyware problems I was having with IE. Whenever I would open up IE, even to google, I would watch as spybot would stop at least 3 different toolbar installations, and 4 registry changes, even without me clicking on anything. So far. in the 3 months since I started using Firefox, I haven't gotten a single mailcious program trying to change my information on Firefox, or touching my registry. I also really like the way the Firefox utilizes it's extensions, and themes, which allow me to customize Firefox as I choose, in the ways that I choose. Overall, it has made my life a lot easier than the hassles I had to go through with IE.
  13. I really like the way that the background seems to flow over the center chracter, and becomes part of it. The background flows nicely, and seems to be one single entity. have to give it an 8.
