Pi To 1 Million Places!

Recommended Posts

Oh my god, I was wandering around the net where I decided to search for some math websites, you know study some advanced stuff, use maple etc. You guys all know that a guy posted some days ago a website with the largest single word domain name, which was pretty interesting in my opinion. Finally 10 minutes ago I found something that I really liked, its simple, its math, but its original.

Just a quick comment about these kind of "useless" websites. Well i wouldn't call this useless because it looks useful enough for, like infamousflame said - mathematicians and such but who actually researches the end of Pi and goes on the net to find out anyway? So back to the point here. We have a pretty much useless site. We have pretty much a millions useless sites out there in the web. What are they useful for? nothing. So you look up at their domain name and you realise that the site's got a ".com" domain. Why would anyone pay for the domain when it absolutely does nothing to inform, perform, nor inquire about something worth knowing. Plus, there are no ads at all! :D

After seeing some movies and reading in some books, obviously people begin to think that there is something very mysterious in PI. Countless instances are there.... 'Contact' by 'Carl Sagan' , 'Da Vinci Code' by 'Dan Brown' (he talks about PHI as well) and how about the black and white movie titled 'PI' in which he claims PI can be used to predict the stock market.... There seem to be people who are obsessed in finding an inherent pattern in PI whether it exists or not. As for me :D.... I don't really understand what's the big deal with PI. Sure, PI multiplied with the area of a square gives you four times the area of the circle inscribed in it. Good for you and the square... but what is the real point of it? To me, it's just another irrational number. I find it just about as interesting as the square root of 2 :D.

Haha yea I agree with you man, I mean it's obviously a useful value for calculating various things, but as far as less mathematical and more "hidden" meanings that go along with it... doesn't really seem plausible to me. But to each their own, if they want to look for patterns and other meanings and whatnot, more power to them
