Everyone's site is down, including mine. My website has been down for nine hours+. Hopefully, everything will be back online soon.

Did this ever work? Is you username and password correct? What clinet are you using? What OS (can you access the low level FTP client in Win*** and use that to test the client?

Any more info ? We can not really help with what you have given us.

Regards

Every time I try to use my FTP account I keep geting an error: the connection attempt timed out. I get this same error every time I try to see my site also. Can anyone help me...?

I am still having problems using FTP. It was working before 04-18-2005 but then stopped. I keep getting an error: the connection attempt timed out. I tried using an FTP program LeechFTP, also I tried using IE and typing in the FTP address, I also tried using an online FTP site http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but no matter what I do I keep getting the same error. My OS is Windows XP I also tried using my Mac OS X with fetch but again same problem occurs.
I know that my user name and password is correct I even tried changing the password and even tried creating a new FTP account but again the same problem occurs... :(:(

I have the same problem, text based ftp like command prompt or the linux variant work fine, but graphical ones don't. Very puzzling and annoying. Maybe I'll have to make an http ftp so people won't have to worry about this problem.~Viz

No the put and get commands did not work for some odd reason I even tried to use the mput and mget but again they did not work.

I don't know if you have uploaded before with Flash but if you haven't try another FTP-program. If you have then it's maybe because the server has some problems today, like M^E already said in shoutbox.

Try using these different FTP clients.

https://www.globalscape.com/cuteftp

https://www.smartftp.com/

Both very good programs. You can at least try them

I did try mulitple FTP programes and they all give me the same problem and messages like:

"An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder. The operation timed out."

"! Socket Error: operation timed out or aborted

~ Could not retrieve directory listing for "/"

~ Disconnected"

so on and so on... I do not think that the FTP program is the problem. This problem has been on going from 04-18-2005

I think that I have found a solution to this problem. I do not know if this will work for everyone but it worked for me... I was playing around with different settings in windows and one thing I did was disabled the firewall. After I disabled the firewall the FTP worked fine... I was able to upload and download files from the server using FTP. The problem was gone. So I guess that every time I want to use my FTP account I will then have to disable my firewall. I think that this solution is a little odd?
