Hummz, you shouldnt use the installer in cPanel, its outdated, if you know how to set up datebases etc you should download the package and install it in the public_html (The part of it with the index.php, config.php etc in it, I think the folder is called html)

i think i got your problem, you just install phpnuke in a different folder, lets say http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ then at your cpanel go to Manage Redirects, there you can fill in the /phpnuke/ folder en redirect it to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. (do fill in temporary)now everytime you visit http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ you get redirected to the /phpnuke/ folder

if you download the package and manually install it it should work, just install it at the www directory (same as public_html directory) or as wassie sayd, put it on a redirect, will work fine too.
