rvalkass 5 Report post Posted June 19, 2005 I agree with RGPHNX. You should just create a site about something you enjoy doing or know a lot about. Information about yourself is good, as no-one else on the Internet will have it. I, personally, would use DIVs to lay out a site, but they can be difficult to get right. Pick your favorite colours if you're confused; because if you don't enjoy the colours, no one else would.To make your website more interesting; try to make your website more unique. For instance, try uploading content which probably no other website (or a very less number of websites) would have. This would not only attract new members to your website; but also enable you to bring them back! :PKeep your website simple, don't overdo anything. As well, use CSS to add consistency to your website.For #2, like a few others mentioned, choose a topic or something that you know a lot about or are interested in. Chances are your site will attract lots of people with similar tastes/hobbies. A forum wouldn't hurt, either.Hope this helps! Good luck with your website! mama_soap 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2005 What about tables ? 153303[/snapback] I guess a CSS layout has various strong advantages over tables, among them a couple would certainly be -- less obscure coding, and use of external templates for the sort of consistency that you get with tables only after a non-trivial amount of work. I am sure there are plenty of reasons as to why tables are slowly getting outdated and CSS is quickly becoming the 'in-thing'. You put one guest book, BLOGS and ShoutBox. For all there things you can get lots of free code. Try to develop in PHP, A lot of free stuff available on NET for PHP. My problem is i dont know PHP at all. Thats why i developed my website in JSP. And writing whole code myself. You must have a My Pictures Link, Show all your good pictures. Trying to chase it wont help.You could do all of the above, but why would you? If you really wanted to do it, then you would have.Alternatively, you could always make a services website, offering your services and give examples of work you CAN do. Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted June 24, 2005 hmmm well if you got small amount of information to put up i suggest using an iframe set and then add your links and a bg photo in it i see a lot of fan sites and or shrines do that which is pretty cool cuz it loads up fast with no problems and also it give you a chance to learn php by skinning it as well.
