Is It Bad To Have An Invisible Counter In Your Site? Or is it just like a visible counter?

Recommended Posts

I just want to know what people think about invisible counter. It is invisible and it grabs the visitors' information like IP address, login time, operating system and stuff.I guess visible counters also do the same. But the visitors are warned when they see the counter unlike the invisible ones.Do some people hate that? Lots of people emphasise on surfing privacy nowadays, and if you have one of those in your website, do you have to put a privacy policy statement?

well it isnt bad, why would it be bad, tell us that and I will see if i can help u, but invisible counters is better because the info stays with you, but if it visible, other people can see and take advantage of that, if you NEED a counter, have an invisible one because its safer for the person who comes on your site because if some1 has your ip address, man can they ruin ur pc in like 10 days

how would your visitors know you were gathering their info? Unless you told them... but then it wouldn't be invisible anymore would it?i don't see a problem and I also use invisible counter. I don't like showing counters on a site. It is UNPROFESSIONAL and looks amateurish.

Trap17 logs all access to your userspace , you can view all of this information from the cPanel, by scrolling down to analysis and log files and selecting web/ftp stats, where you will be asked to choose which system to view your stats with. I personally think that Awstats is the best. Hope that has helped.

This is not bad by any means in my opinion. Most of the time when I visit sites with invisible counters I don't even notice. Alot of people would be interested in seeing how many people have visited your site so I would use a visible counter. I hope my opinion helped you.
