velma 6 Report post Posted October 22, 2012 Wutske,Months ago all members using the .trap17.com / .astahost.com were emailed notifying that the sub domains would be changed to .trap17.net / .astahost.net . I believe that a deadline was mentioned in the email and there is a chance that the tech has already changed the subdomain to .net.If you have opened a ticket, you should hear from them soon, just to make sure I have contacted a support tech to hurry things for you If you are using a CMS / website builder you might have to change the url through phpmyadminAnother tip: Always make sure to keep a frequently used email address as your main point of contact with xisto to avoid missing out on any other important notifications. wutske 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2012 Strange, now I can't login anymore I used the password given by the support, the one stated on the "product details" and even after changing my password I still can't login to cpanel or ftp. Â Besides: a big WTF for showing my password in PLAINTEXT (and probably also storing my password in PLAINTEXT).

I can login now ! Looks like password replication took a while. The WTF however remains valid, this MUST be improved ! I can not understand how these things still happend in a time where large companies have been hacked without any problems and passwords were stolen and published (read: linkedin). yordan 10 Report post Posted October 27, 2012 Plain text, are you sure? It's not plain text on my firefox screen, when I log to my cpanel, it displays big dots instead of letters. And also ftp in the Microsoft windows "cmd" command-line screen displays no password. How do you connect?
velma 6 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 @ yordan. He is referring to the client area feature... I think. I understand your apprehension about it being stored in plain txt. But you see, clients who are sent a password are expected to change it immediately, the passwords module is a feature primarily for you to retrieve your details. However, your point is genuine and I will forward it to Opa, see what he thinks. Honestly, I think the system is secure enough but you can never be sure right? Regardless, I am happy that your issue got solved and welcome back to the forums

How do you connect? as Velma said, it's indeed in the support area:@Velma: I do understand that there are customers who want their passwords to be sent to them because they've forgotten it and it's great to be able to recover your password, but so do hackers. Any hacker getting access to your system could download and publish or sell them. It would be reassuring to know that it's stored using encryption (eg with. AES) and not just in plaintext. And thanks for the welcome back It's been too long I've been here...
