yordan 10 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 i usually make a copy of my Windows DVDs as backup I know, and each time you do that, you check with Crosoft how much money they want in order to allow you doing that.
Ahsaniqbalkmc 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) You buy one DVD for installing on one system. If you want a spare copy, you ask Microsoft a spare copy.Doesn't it work like that?..... I buy one DVD for installing onto one system and as long as I am installing the DVD contents only on one (my own) system, it doesn't matter how I install it...My logic of all this is that the software is meant to be installed only on my system. There should be no concern about how I install it. And as I have paid for the software, not only for the DVD (as is obvious from the price), there should be no frowning on whether I keep the software on my hard disk as a backup or not. As I have already paid for the software, I should be able to keep it on my hard disk in whatever form I want. There is only one serial key and as long as I am not trying to register the software with different serial numbers, I should be able to form ISO images or whatever. This seems logical to me because it only means that I would be able to install/reinstall the software in a way that suits me better. And I don't think the cycle of installing -> uninstalling -> reinstalling is illegal even if repeated 100 times. manuleka 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2012 i agree... i don't think it should be a problem having more than one copy of the same Windows DVD/CD if you're intention is only for your computer... makes me wonder weather running same Windows Copy (Serial) on my PC and as a VM (on same PC) is an issue or not... i mostly use the Virtual Machine for testing and learning purposes...
