Iapple Device Owners - Ifunbox Alternative For Linux

I've been using ifunbox on windows for transferring files onto/from my phone (iPhone 4)... but now i have to find a way of doing so in Linux... i know i can transfer through ssh connection but wireless is slow, and i'm wanting to do transfers through usb...any iDevice users here using Linux? thanks

seems that you have to enable tethering, a lot of info here google.com/?q=tether+iphone+to+linux+usb

 

I have no iphone, and my main is not not linux currently, so I cannot test these solutions, telle me if it works for you. Of course, take care doing nothing dangerous on your iphone, you know that some settings are not easily reversible.

looking at some infos on the links, my only option is to wait... most working options are to connect through network

 

I've tried installing

 

ifuse

libimobiledevice

libimobiledevice-utils

libimobiledevice-dev

 

and yet i can't see the Device so i can mount it, although i can only browse the photos

That's right, usually when you connect your iphone, it's seen as a disk, but you can only browse your photos. This also allows you to save the photos.

usually by default this is the only accessible part onto an idevice (ipod/iphone)

hopefully there will be an easy workaround to this soon on Ubuntu 12.04...
