Bloody NVidia board in my laptop has been really annoying lately and wouldn't even power the laptop up for a few weeks. Turns out they are in the middle of a court case to reimburse everyone who has their defective boards so can't get the money back for any repairs until january at least. Check your hardware and see if it is listed at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, if so you can get a replacement or reimbursed for the cost of repairs.
