Computer clicking when coming on then going offComputer Turns Self Off

i have a problem with my hp computer (desk top)-clicks when turned on then goes off

I have an hp desk top computer which makes a clicking sound when it tries to come on, then it turns itself off. I have no picture when this happens. It will come on sometime in the future, but will then not come on at all. Does anyone have a possible solution on what the problem could be? any help would be appreciated.
