Xarex 1 Report post Posted April 2, 2011 I love this service. I was invited to join Google Voice a few years ago but never took advantage of it until recently. I was going to be traveling overseas so I figured I'd just get a number so I could use the texting feature and make calls. Little did I know.. Google voice uses your phone to make calls. The texting feature, however, works great whether your phone is working or not.However, a hidden feature I discovered.. was in Gmail. It doesn't happen all the time, but occasionally, and being overseas, the "Call Phone" button is available.. and I can make a free call from where I'm located to the United States.I love this service. I'm hoping they keep it free. Awesome to have, awesome to keep in touch, and best of all -- UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGES!Important to note: Don't sign up using your phone connected to your existing plan.
