Yes, but I used in Windows XP (MCE05) and it was blue by default. Since I have a Royale Noir theme, I wanted black. So I looked in setting and here it was!

When i first installed my copy it did default to blue (running windows xp here), after a look in the settings i could change it - guess it would default to black on vista to fit in with the whole theme of the os.-HellFire

Little off topic, but is 2007 any good?Is it ok for XP Home SP2?I am running 2003, and been looking for some nice resume templates and things, but given up, the only half arsed decent ones I can find on Microsoft site are for 2007 only ;).

I currently run Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, and I think that it's pretty cool. I run it on Windows XP though, and the interface is blue, matching my theme on XP. I'm also curious about how to get to the black theme using Office on Xp. The new edition of office makes it alot more convenient to get to certain settings, but if you're accustomed to the features on office 2003 or office xp, then it will take a bit of time to get used to. It was hard at first to get a powerpoint going, because alot of the normal options you would find on the 'traditional' style toolbar in XP were replaced with broader categories. But once I got used to it, I actually preferred this version to the 2003 version. There are quite a few more formatting options, due to the ability to use CSS styles when creating documents. I can't wait to see if there is going to be any new versions for Mac in the future. Office 2004 on Mac is pretty good too.

Wait....how do you get to the settings to change it?
I am running vista and mine is the blue coloring....I poked around a little bit but couldn't find any settings anywhere...

To change the color of Office 2007, open any of the Office Applications (let's say Word), then click on the thingy in the top left corner for the menu, at the bottom you'll see a button called "word options". Click that, then click the "popular" tab if it hasn't already gone to that page, then under "top options for working with word" there's one that says "Color scheme". rather self explanatory. And the 3 colors to choose between are blue, silver, and black.

I'm a big fan of the 2007 release. It was a worthwhile upgrade. Takes a little bit to get used to the new layout, but then it's faster. It's been designed with an emphasis on speed, and being able to find what you want with a click rather than having to hunt through the menus. Though if you don't like the new interface, there's the classic menu program which changes the tabs and menus to the look of Office 2003. But I'd suggest trying out the new one first and I'm sure you'll like it. Issues with Office 07 so far only are with powerpoint and outlook. Outlook is infernally slow compared to the 2003 version. Powerpoint is awesome, but you've got to use your presentations on computers that run Office 07. You can save it as a 2003 version, but it becomes bigger to the tune of hundreds of MB, and runs slowly as well. Keep it in 07, and you've got a wealth of new features at your fingertips.

Ok, thanks for the instructions....Oddly, I think I like the blue color scheme the best (even though the black seems to fit well with vista). It just seems to be brighter, and a little more uplifting and not so dreary looking...As for my experience with Office 2007, i too love the new way of organizing tasks, once you get used to it, it is so much better than having all of those menus everywhere, and I really like it a lot. I got a feeling that more and more applications will start to organize tasks this way. You can just plain find stuff easier, and perform tasks much easier.
