iGuest 3 Report post Posted June 27, 2011 re: Playstation 3 Emulator?Playstation 3 Emulator?Replying to turbopowerdmaxsteelIf I can run God of War II and many other games at full speed on a $500 laptop, then I don't see how we could be 10 years behind a PS3.System Specs(All parts came with the computer, no modifications or enhancements of any kind)-Model: Gateway NV53-CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 M300 clock@ ~2.44 GHz per core-Main Disk: 500 GB SATA II HDD-RAM: 4GB DDR2-GPU: ATi M880G Graphics core w/ ATi Radeon HD 4330 expansion card--1 GB Video memory-Final cost (minus sales tax): $499.95-OS: Windows 7 Premium 64-BitEmulator:PCSX2 Pre-Alpha v0.9.7.2374(svn) 32-bit versionAnd this is just a laptop. A desktop for a similar price would be even more powerful. So stop using the whole PS3 emulation is impossible because ps2 emulation isnt even optimal yet argument; it's not valid. -reply by Takato14

iGuest 3 Report post Posted September 26, 2011 you guys have got it wrongPlaystation 3 Emulator? Its not about the graphics. Its about pcs cpus only having 2 or 4 cores while the ps3 has 8 (7 running). Ps3 games are designed to use 6 of the 8 cores so running a ps3 game through a processor with only 4 cores would not work. If we could create virtual cores and access the processing power of the gpu for general processing then we might get somewhere. -reply by Alex
