How to display subtitles when you are watching movies

There are many plug-ins you can use to display subtitle files, when you are watching Movies. Here I want to promote a simple and powerful DirectShow filter which can be used to display subtitle files VobSub is a plugin/filter for adding textual subtitles to video. This DirectShow filter works with Windows Media Player, CyberLink PowerDVD, Winamp, Jet Audio and … .

1-First download this DirectShow filter from below mirror search site:

http://www.findfiles.com/search.src?file=VobSub_2.23.exe

2-Run the Setup file to install VobSub v2.33

3-Now you need to download your movie subtitle file. There are two kinds of subtitle formats which the vobsub package can deal with:

* vobsub ripped: idx/sub[/rar]

* textual: srt, sub, psb, smi, ssa, *bottom*

There are many websites you can download subtitle file. For example :

http://divxstation.com/

http://www.divxsubtitles.net/

http://www.extratitles.to/

4-Put your movie and subtitle file into the same directory and then play your movie, now you can watch your movie with subtitle.

Note: with this simple and powerful DirectShow filter you can rip subtitle file from DVDs, change subtitle style (font, background, color and …), correct subtitle time and frame rate , cut subtitle file to separate files and … .

I remember being able to use subtitle files with VLC media player. But I'm not sure if it works as well as the DirectShow filter you're talking about.
